Very true I HOPE if this option is in the game it better be there for those players as well. Howeer the Devs did not tell us at all about it they ignored all questions about it, which makes me think a no

It would also be nice if that exported trick from the person who mentioned it earlier would work as a 2 way player too then we could create our own

Something tells me though they only pushed for Ohtani to be in the game so they could put 2 way players in.

Is the Brett Eibner experiment still going?

Few Things here. Bethancourt is no longer pitching and is back to being a position player full time.

Jordan Schafer has been moved to pitcher full time, but was recently released a few weeks ago. He had TJ surgery last year so who knows if he becomes a position player again.

James Jones may also convert full time to the mound this season. May not be a 2 way guy anymore. He only played in 4 games last season at Round Rock and only pitched in those 4 games.

Yes, Eibner is a 2 way player. He signed a 2 year minor league deal with Texas. He will miss most if not all of the 2018 season after having TJ Surgery while with the Dodgers last season. When he comes back Texas plans on using his as both an outfielder and pitcher.

well it's 4 days away from release now, so hopefully someone can get the game early soon and tell us about 2 way players.

Interesting. Him AND Gose in the system. The rangers have certainly cornered the market

Pretty much. The Rangers have the same plan for Gose. We'll see how it goes. He hasn't looked good on the pitching side. Got shelled in spring with the Astros who already sent him back to Texas after just 1 inning.

Right. Truthfully, I think best case scenario is they develop into relievers. Their time as hitters may be up.

I'm aware not all of those guys are currently two way players. The point was they have been at least experimented with as two way players at some point, and there will be more in the future. Ohtani could flame out, Bethancourt could never pitch again, and McKay could be struck by lightning, lol. I would still like to be able to add 1B to McKay as a secondary position and DH Bumgarner if I want to.

Lol yes, give up on Ohtani because of spring training where even aces get shelled. Makes sense. He’s already 23! So old! Clearly he’s a bust. [emoji23] Even if he spends a couple weeks or a month in the minors to start the season, he will be with the Angels this season. And I’m positive he will have an impact. The hot takes that have come out of a spring training performance are hilarious. The problem is idiotic ESPN and other sports media calling him Japanese Babe Ruth. Made people root against him because of the hype so now they’re just eating up his poor performances like candy. He absolutely has the potential to be an ace in this league, and spring training doesn’t discredit that. The fact that some of you guys think he won’t even be on the 40 man is laughable. But whatever. I’ll enjoy his eventual success in the face of so much doubt.

For what it’s worth, their silence on two way players makes me pretty confident it isn’t in. I think they wanted Ohtani in because of the hype machine.

Which is a PR mess because the main reason why he is so hyped is because he is a two way player.

Well, to be fair, even if he wasn't, and was just a SP, he'd be incredibly hyped. He's a 23 year old SP who hits 100mph on his fastball regularly (for a SP, that is). The velocity alone as a SP would make him a hype machine. It's just increased because he may be able to hit pretty well at the MLB level, too (though I think ultimately he'll be mainly a SP).

Why is it that OOTP 19 has Otani in on day of release and the Show has to wait for him to play 1 game before he gets in the game?

If OOTP has Ohtani at release, there's no reason show can't. Also, as stated a few posts above, the fact that the devs haven't mentioned anything about two way players when they know so many are curious about this info can only lead to one conclusion.
