Nothing earth-shattering, but good additions and improvements. Nice to see several bugs getting fixed too. Hopefully not too many new issues introduced as a result of the tweaks to the various logic systems.

I've seen retirement logic being listed as a plus more than a few times...

Have you guys been seeing players just retiring so young frequently?

I had it happen just once - Chapman retired on me at 31 in my old franchise (MLB16). Otherwise, my franchises have a lot a 32+ players...heck Chris Davis held on for me until 42...it was funny because I kept planning for his retirement when he was 35...LOL

I think it's the late 30's, early 40's guys that need to hold on a little more. I mean, Ichiro is still around, Hough played until 45 I think and Julio Franco is probably still playing baseball in a league somewhere. Henderson was in his 40's, etc.

Right. It's not so much the age, as it is the reasoning. As I understood it, that is the logic that, according to the stream, should now be better balanced.

The issues of prospects retiring or guys who are still producing, still rated well, etc still retiring have reportedly been addressed.

It would seem as though the scenarios you're describing should now be more possible under this new logic, as well...i.e. if a 40yo player is still solid enough, he should have a better chance of sticking around rather than simply getting aged out due to programming.

I'm sure there will still be guys who slip through the cracks by real world standards and it's always possible that new issues could arise, but the new logic sounds a lot more fleshed out and realistic than before.

Why not both? This stream was the final one to convince me that 18 is not improved enough to warrant a purchase. I will continue with 17 and hope that 19 actually has things like the new right field stuff and Trout farm in LF in Anaheim stadium, a much better franchise with 3 team trades and more than 3 for 1 trades, contract extensions and much more. It's cool, I will just have to skip this year.

I’m right there with ya. This is the first year in a decade that I haven’t pre-ordered the show. Thought today could change my mind but all it did was confirm my worry about the direction of this game. The point of my post wasn’t to defend the show.

The same way I have for years, by viewing their minor league stats during the season and using Sportscast manager.

I will need to check out the Sportcast thing this year. It has been a while since I played franchise, so things are going to feel fresh to me.

It would be nice if we had a prospect tracker in game with a click of a button on the franchise front-end. Maybe something they can add.

Was hoping they would expand to 100 and single A would have 25 players with the additional prospects being added to the draft.
