Raise CPU Consistency (not for less balls thrown, but thrown closer around the plate. Too many fat pitches? Raise CPU Control (they'll bite those corners more, and those "on the black" strikes by raising this will mesh well with those "off the black" balls if both of these are raised).

I'll admit that I currently am getting a good influx of hits; nothing like what you are getting right now, but more than I'm normally used to. I'm going to play about five more games before I try a tinker here and there. The only reason I don't like messing with sliders is because I generally feel like if I have too good or too bad of a game I may chalk it up to "my settings being too easy," and I'd just continue tinkering. I'm getting a lot better at the "set it and forget it" kind of thing now, though.

The only reason I'm making these suggestions is because I fear what the developers will do if they change anything in a patch. I have a theory though that the new air drag coefficient isn't just affecting the ball in play, but also pitched balls... so the ball is slowing up to the plate more than it used to, which may be why they are floating in for us now. I'm sure they probably didn't touch the exit velocity of the throws themselves, though.

Thanks, I’m going to try legend and adjust sliders as needed. My philosophy on sliders will be to adjust to account for any statistically anomalies where I’m leading or trailing by an unreasonable margin. So right now it would be increasing my strike outs, maybe more foul balls and decrease timing window/solid contact to reduce BA.

      No problem.

For the record, I have Human Foul Frequency set to 10 and CPU Foul Frequency set to 0. We have similar kinds of swinging results still haha.

This was the very least I played any show title the same day it was purchased .. to be honest I got bored already as pitching feels identical I just can’t play any other pitching style. It could very well be a game killer for me and I’m regretting my purchase tbh. I also miss the dev/community interaction on this board as I don’t think it would be too tough to add more randomness to analog on higher difficulties

It doesn't help that you can't hide the pitch location reticle on the meter itself. Never have been able to since they first introduced that pitching meter eight years ago, yet it's one of the more obvious changes they should make.

I pleaded with them years ago to at least offer the two player option where the ball icon was static in the center at the top of the meter. I don't get it.

Shoot, I had a whole post on different things they could change back in 2011 on a thread that you started when you were doing CD work with them. The images that I had unfortunately aren't there anymore (don't know where on earth I put those files), but the system really has never been touched.

At the end of that post, I included:

I think I’ve come up with something that would kind of work, though:

              1) Don’t let us see the analog pitching meter until we actually start our pitching motion.
              2) Let us see the analog pitching meter upon selection of our pitch, but hide the location of the ball (and, if there is a variable yellow line, hide that as well) until we actually start our pitching motion.

The issue with this was always, “How can we find a way to still make you aim the right stick somewhere while hiding the ball cursor at the same time?” This is probably the best way to do it.
              You're right, though. Still nothin'.

I don’t get it either cause it’s not like we are asking for crazy changes. There is no longer any communication with the devs.

Personally my only ask was for 2 changes with mlb 18 and I would’ve been super happy.

                1. Make analog pitching harder
                2. Let me turn off the hr camera

Simple enough tweaks that would significantly extend the playability of this game for me.

This game is stunning on a 4K TV and PS4 Pro. I see what everyone was talking about now! I'm playing with HDR Off and Game Resolution on Balanced. Not sure if I should turn HDR on? The framerate stability is awesome, too.

Hitting on All-Star seems a little easier than last year, but I'm OK with that. The menus are much improved from past years.

I'll have some detailed impressions later, but the visuals really jumped out to me. If you're contemplating upgrading your TV and/or PS4, you will definitely notice a big difference!

For the first time in as long as I can remember, I made a slider adjustment. I had to increase the pitch speed for both fastballs and offspeed pitches. On default they seem way too floaty.

I feel your pain. , I don't enjoy other controls as much either . I just think if they would make the meter move up and down a little faster it would help to make it harder to control pitches . That's what I expected them to do . I am very disappointed that nothing was done , I am going to keep trying to iron out the sliders and make this work. If I get anything I feel is good enough I will post it in the vault labeled as pure analog sliders for the few of us who enjoy analog can try and maybe with everyone's ideas we can get it good ??

I'm on HoF and I've increased pitch speed but still tough to get beat on a pitch. I don't want to adjust any other sliders.

I may go to legend and see what happens.

Crank up your pitch speed for fastball and off-speed to 10, lower solid hits to 4 and foul frequency to 4 then call me in the morning.

Your suggestions on using certain sliders will stop the devs from releasing a patch.

I thought pitching was supposed to be harder this year? I’ve yet to give up more than 3 runs in a game, and that’s against good offensive teams. Still able to cruise through games without much trouble. I used to get excited about a 1-2-3 inning. Now I’m getting excited when the AI gets runners on and there is a chance they may score.
