I think the most impressive part of the game, compared to 2017, is something that the development crew never mentioned: defense.

Differences in defensive ability feel substantially improved. Has anybody else noticed this? Top notch defensive plays no longer feel like a given and far less double plays. Really enjoying the game

Have definitely noticed the defensive changes...seen more errors and OFs whiffing on balls, deflecting off gloves, etc.

(I'm not referring to putting a player out of position)

Had a game where Brandon Crawford had 2 errors in one inning. Hoping it was just a fluke, as he's a stud defensively.

I wasn't going to buy the game this year but have. Among the first things I checked was the player card and they still have an entire section for the players Twitter feed even though most don't even have one linked to it and in franchise mode, the real-world Twitter feed of a player bears no significance to what is going in on in my franchise. Why they haven't removed it - at least in franchise - and replaced it with something contextual to the actual gameplay in my franchise is baffling.

I've seen huge difference between Jose Iglesias and my backup SS who has a 55 fielding raiting. Plays deep in the hole are a sure Basehit if my backup is in.

In my carry over franchise I’m getting some duplicate players on more than one team.

Loving the game, but of some concern.

A few negative things I've noticed in RttS:
- Records that can be broken are still the same since at least ' 08. That's disappointing.
- The SoTS is pretty low in game. That needs to be adjusted.

First bunt by CPU.....absolute rocket down the first baseline. I used my house rule from last year and only took the out at first.

My personal setting is 7/7 but for some that might be too easy.

Does anyone else feel like the hitting is a bit laggy for them? I considered myself a decent to good hitter on ‘17, but in the couple of play nows I’ve done on ‘18 every single swing is at least late. Maybe it’s rust, but my timing feels the same.

Was this online, or against the CPU?

Because so far I have pretty much only done rocket bunts myself, and in the two sacrifice bunts I remember the CPU executing, they were of the normal variety. However, the CPU only went to first base on them.

So I told myself: "Hmm, weird... so the game makes us rocket-bunt to prevent cheesing the CPU, and the CPU will play a house rule and not go for the person at second base so you can still get sacrifices down... whereas the CPU will bunt normally so you can't cheese them back on defense as well. Touché, SDS."

That being said, that doesn't mean it's impossible for the CPU to rocket-bunt this year, nor is it impossible for us to bunt normally. I saw somebody explain how we have to avoid rocket bunts ourselves (something like bunt at low pitches only and aim the R-stick downwards). I have yet to try or achieve that though.
