Re: MLB 19: First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
Went ahead and bought 19. G,B,U
The very first trophy I got...the one where you can't skip any presentations or cutscenes lol. Easy to do in RttS. Not sure how franchise people will pull that one off.
Good:
Games looks great like always.
Really digging the scorebug.
The stats are much improved..or just better presented.
In game challenges is something I've been clamoring for for quite a while. It's nice that RttS only players can now get missions completed and get gear by doing it. I got a diamond bat for completing one.
I got my first diamond card in like three years. Perhaps I just have lousy RNG when it comes to the packs.
Bad:
The new PA announcer sounds like he recorded all of the lines underwater.
The commentary...still
Records to break..is. still. the. exact. same. It's been over 10 years.....come on....
I really hate the archetype system.
Ugly:
The commentary....
All I got.est 1978

Re: MLB 19: First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
In my opinion in 2019 all sports game should be 60fps. Anything less is unacceptable especially on the ps4 pro in 1080p mode. Even 1440p should be running at 60 FPS. Games like nba 2k run native 4k and smooth. Hopefully this can be fixed via patch.

Re: MLB 19: First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
Most hits going to opposite field is starting to get to me now. It's pretty annoying when you have good timing and I have even had somewhat early timing and still have the ball go opposite field. It's starting to kill the immersion for me.Comment

Re: MLB 19: First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
Are you guys using directional hitting and pointing the left stick in different directions? I’m not seeing this at all unless I’m late on a pitch or specifically trying to take one the opposite way.

Re: MLB 19: First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
Oh boy... finally completed the first game of my Franchise. Lost 4-3 at Kansas after 19 innings in a 5.5 hour game.
Sorry, felt I had to share that ordeal with someone.

Re: MLB 19: First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
Seattle’s stadium, TMobile Park has issues. When playing night games the trees and buildings in the skyline around the space needle, in the stadium and outside of the stadium are lit up as if it is day time. They look like they are glowing. I hope this gets fixed as there should be no reason in this day and age to have parts of the skyline/stadium lit up like it’s daytime during a night game. I checked the show 18 and everything was correct in that game. Additionally, I don’t know if anyone else noticed but when batting with Ken Griffey Jr, his feet are below the dirt in the batter’s box. A large portion of his cleats are actually below the playing surface as if he is slightly underground.Comment

Re: MLB 19: First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
I use zone and everything seems balanced to me. I pull hits, have oppo hits, and hits back up the middle. Nothing has stood out to me as being out of whack.
All my homeruns thus far have been pulled or centered. I have yet to hit a oppo homerunI can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(

I just had an oppo with Harper and it was beautiful and not a lot of power and seemed very realisticComment

Re: MLB 19: First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)
My impressions:
-CPU pitching improved on All-Star. Fewer meatballs served up, and top of the rotation guys do a nice job of mixing spots and pitches. Pitch speed feels a little faster, which is a good thing.
-Seeing nice hit variety, including a few balls going over an outfielder's head.
-Fielding animations look to have been cleaned up a little.
-Sound of the ball off the bat is good.
-Crowd reacts to game situations in a more realistic manner.
-Graphics about the same as 18. Game still looks great to me.
-Only real disappointment is no new broadcast cameras available to those of use that use Quick Counts.
-Speaking of, for the trophy hunters out there, you can unlock a gold trophy by not skipping a single cutscene in a game, and that includes games with QC enabled.
I haven't played much, but so far, enjoying the experience.Currently Playing:

This doesn't mean anything. But this has to be the worst soundtrack ever. All the other sounds of the game are great though[emoji119]
