They weren't neon yellow. He had Phillie Phanatic cleats.

Out the gate gameplay feels different in a great way more smooth. I took a few months off the show 18 so this makes gameplay feel extra good. However I am mainly a franchise mode player and everything else besides gameplay is the same.

Kudos to the dev team for this crowd atmosphere. They nailed the overall ambience and realistic fan reactions to what is happening on the field.

Add a ton of enjoyment and immersion to the experience. I’d love to see NBA 2K put this sort of effort into their crowd environment.

Same lousy commentary? Dunno, I turned that crap off in 2011 and never looked back.

Encouraged by the majority, who have all shared positive reviews. I'm not going to pick the game up until an OSFM roster is created, but I'm excited by what I'm reading.

Re: MLB The Show 19 First Impressions Thread (IMPRESSIONS ONLY)

So with this year I decided that I was going to just go all-out with online play and DD. I'd tinkered with DD last season but didn't play any online with it or really do too much. I decided this year was going to be mostly DD with the game, and I've been having a blast. There are surprising frame drops in the online, but it's not bad. I've only played a couple games against people and two battle royale entries and haven't won. Played a TON of other modes though and have been earning stubs that way to build my team. It's a fun mode. I still might to a franchise but I'm gonna be honest I've got a M2O save going and that mode is also VERY fun. High risk, high reward. Especially if you're an old geezer like me trying to get Detroit to glory on All Star! Fun mode. I have to say that I've tried all the new stuff at this point and I like ALMOST all of it. There's some things I could nitpick about but the worst I think is poor Heidi. She is a good sideline reporter and did a decent job with her VA (the stuff they wrote for her was a bit pedestrian and obvious) but MAN is her rendering straight out of Uncanny Valley. I'm gonna have to shut her off.

Oh also I like the novelty of playing in black and white for the Ruth stuff BUT I wish there was an option to turn it off if you wanted, because I would. The ball blends into the whites too easily on my monitor.

Still -- I'd say impressions are strong on this and if I were to do a review right now I'd hit it with an 8.5/10, up from the 8/10 I gave 18. So good job. Like the new stuff and here's hoping they build on it. I know it's tough to change a million things when you release yearly. They do a good job, and I enjoyed the stuff leading up to release like the livestreams and whatnot.

Russell_SCEA> It's not our job to make a reviewer do his homework and actually play the game to see all the changes, additions, and tweaks we make every year. If he/she is lazy that's on them not us.

Listening to Matty V call Beckhams 2HRs yesterday makes how boring he is in the game pretty stark. Don’t understand why they reigned him in for the game.

Posted my impressions after two games, and now that I've played 5 most of the same positive review, but not so much on the hit types. I do love the new hit types. I've noticed I get a ton of lineouts to the wall, and a ton of catches by the 2nd baseman about halfway into right field. Has anyone messed with the sliders to make these more realistic? Not sure if it'd be fielder speed, or what exactly the options are. I haven't gotten a single ball over an outfielder's head, yet, that hasn't been a homer.

Played 4 full games on default all-star, and I've already hit at least 2 balls over the outfielders head for doubles ... so the variety is definitely here.

Well, game five of the ten game Slider-testing set is in the books, and it was a great game with some new impressions and "little things" scattered about.

The lighting in a 4 o'clock game, clear day, with the roof open in new T-Mobile Park in Seattle is spectacular. The shadows moving as the game progresses, making it harder to hit in certain innings, as well as the overall crispness of the players... just a really great representation of the graphics...

Swihart was wearing sunglasses for the first four innings, and he had them off later on. That may have been in the game previously, but was still cool to see him realize he no longer needed them on.

There was a little girl in the second row staring at her cell phone.... *sigh*

I am so happy Branch Animations have been cleaned up, however there is going to be a learning curve on taking extra bases that were available in last year's game. Going from first to third on a ball hit to left field because you knew the left fielder would scoop up the ball, get stuck in a turn-around animation, slap the glove and crow-hop before the throw.. yeah, that's over. You better have a speedy guy and better not count on the bad animations to help you run bases. That is a good thing.

If SDS is going to mess with the Analog Fielding, please don't send the patch to my PS4.

I may have to adjust pitch speed down one click for both fastballs and offspeed from last year's settings. I have five more games, but it seems like the more realistic swing animations have choked down my reaction time... I'll report in after game ten and seeing some number five starters instead of the aces.

I am getting used to the new Dynamic Camera. I am leaning towards liking it right now... The way it swings around on double plays is really cool. Plus, it really gives a sense of the scope of the outfield you need to patrol.

Seeing more and more variety of hits that seem like I never saw before. Choppers, little tailing flares... there appears to be a different spin mechanic programmed this year, which make the ball more lively. Well done.

Keep an eye out for Stealyerface's Ultimate Realism Slider Set. It will be in the vault after game ten, but as of this morning, this set is almost perfect as far as portraying realistic baseball plays. I want the game to play as if you are watching it in real life, and so far, the porting over from last year's game to this one, has been almost seamless.

Game six and seven tonight, and more impressions to come.

Well.... I only played two games, and so far I like what I'm seeing/playing. Gameplay feels good, graphics and presentation are the best its ever been. However the one thing I absolutely can NOT stand in this game, is it consistently trying to throw you into DD. (boot up the game) HERE OPEN THESE CARD PACKS! (have fun figuring out how to exits out of it), (play a game) OPEN UP MORE CARD PACKS (have you tried DD yet!) rinse and repeat. Oh, and the sound track sucks major donkey D, its the worse sound track ever. who ever pick the music, has terrible taste in music

Interesting, I've hit a few in the gap but none over heads. I'll keep plugging along. I'm getting 8-12 hits per game, so hopefully I see some soon.

In my opinion, default All Star fielders are too fast. If you adjust them down a little bit, you'll see the fast outfielders get to balls, but lower speed-rated guys will play more realistically.
