Well I'm officially out of position players. Too many guys on the IL. If one more person gets hurt there is no one to call up from Single A.

Sorry to derail the thread. I'm still playing '18 while I wait to see if/when they patch some concerns in '19. My question is, would it be more appropriate to post franchise updates in '18's franchise thread, thus keeping an "older" thread going, or is it ok to post in this thread but acknowledge I'm still playing '18, or just not post at all until I get '19?

My Cubs franchise kicked off with a bang, with us sending Brandon morrow and Adbert Alzolay to the New York Mets for Edwin Diaz and Corey Oswalt. The Cubs know they are losing a big future starting pitching arm in Alzolay, but they still have 3 good young prospects in the minors.

The Cubs are looking to trade Kyle Hendricks as well as long if the right opportunity presents itself. The Cubs are looking to acquire some good bullpen arms and possibly a future ace of the staff

Anyone know if the CPU controlled teams make any 40-Man moves during the regular season? I started my chise only controlling my team and was wondering if the Jays would call up Vlad Jr at any point. He’s currently not on their 40-Man.

I haven’t played in about 10 days. Been traveling for work this week. But I’m still a day or two ahead of real life. And now I’ve got a long weekend (worked OT this week) to open that gap back up.

Back to All-Star hitting for me. I had good moments on HOF, but too many frustrating ones to continue on. I want to enjoy the games I play. I'll live with hitting a few extra HR's.

I'm a little late this year, but the Season opener for the Reds is here.

I made minimal offseason moves. In saying that, I did make one blockbuster.

I wanted a hard throwing prospect SP, so I threw the house at the whiSox and got Kopech.

                            (SP) M. Kopech for (SP) L. Castillo ; (SP) T. Mahle ; (C) T. Barnhart & A-rated SS prospect J. Peraza.

A big price, but I figure the Reds won't be competing for playoffs this year, which gives me time with Kopech to hopefully develop him into a perennial CY Young pitcher.

                            And some minor moves:

                            (C) M. Stassi I needed a reliable catcher after sending Barnhart in the deal for Kopech. Stassi calls a good game and for now he's the starter.

Traded (LF) M. Kemp & B-rated AAA prospect 2B R Grigillo for (CF) H. Bader. The reds desperately needed some speed and fielding in the outfield. Last year I raked with bader despite his stats, so i'm hoping for the same right now. lol

(SP) S. Romano for (RF) J. Rickard. Rickard adds a solid platoon bat Vs lefties and adds outfield depth.

Reds Opening Night was an extra inning thriller!

                              Pirates def Reds 4-3

After handing the ball on opening night to rookie fireballer, Michael Kopech, the Reds were poised to win after getting 7 solid innings from Kopech. Kopech left at the top of the 8th with the Reds leading 3-1 and Zack Duke immediately pitched himself into trouble with a leadoff single, a walk and then gave up a 2-run double to Josh Bell to tie the scores.

Then in the top of the 11th inning, Corey Dickerson launched what looked like a regulation flyball to deep centre; but the ball got hung up in the 10mph wind out to CF and went yard in the longest part of the park. The reds were unable to get anything going against the Pirates closer Vazquez to drop a heart breaker on Opening Night.

Same here. I went to HOF then tried All-Star +. Nothing felt right so went back to default All-Star. I developed some bad habits playing HOF and actually struggled a bit when I went back to All-Star. I think I realized that All-Star was the correct setting for me and that I had an easy schedule to start the season as the Yankees. The American League is really weak. Only 4 teams are ranked in the top half of the league so it stands to reason that if you’re the Yankees, Red Sox, Astros, or Indians that you’re going to dominate most of the other teams.
