If/when I do get there I want to know I earned it and deserve it. Not fun for me otherwise. This year even though I’m still I guess kinda mathematically “in it”, I’m equally excited about the offseason so it stings a little less for me. Hopefully it turns around for you
Exactly. I played the entire season in MLB 15 and didn't make the postseason either. This season looks like that's going to be the case. 11 games back with just 21 to play. I'm looking forward to year 2 and making some moves in the offseason to make the squad a contender.

So I’m gonna be lazy and give the super brief update strictly from memory on the Redbirds aaa PCL Championship Game 4 outcome lol.

Gomber got the start and was again efficient and good enough, plus got a few runs in support early. But just like he was doing in his time at the MLB level this season, started to stumble come the 5th and 6th innings. And again, the bullpen would fail trying to pick him up. Cecil being the main culprit again. Down by 2 in the ninth Memphis would get their first look at the River Cats Closer, Trevor Gott! Maxed Confidence, topped out energy, and seemingly completely untouchable stuff! Flat nasty to be honest haha! (Hmm, maybe future trade material haha). So yeah, needless to say Memphis drops game 4 bringing the series to a winner takes all game 5, that I’m kinda nervous about because I’m not sure who I’m starting at this point. I’m not real keen on Starting Oviedo, who has yet to pitch at all in the postseason. Especially in such a high leverage start as this, because he’s honestly the one I’m most unsure of. Been hoping to work him in somewhere with little stress and room to navigate a bad outing but hasn’t happened. So I’m leaning towards Cabrera who would be the most ready as far as rest goes otherwise. But he had that blowup outing against the Dodgers so he’s definitely not a “high confidence “ pick either. Ultimately if they lose, it would be the last game of their season so I guess maybe everyone will be available if that’s what’s necessary, including the other rotation guys! Even if they win, the aaa Championship is just a one game deal I believe so we’d figure that out then. And if we don’t win this one, that would be irrelevant regardless. Anyway, just wanted to post some form of update because I think I’m about to dive in and see what happens lol!

      Edit:

Oh yeah, I also have my aa Standout Seijas fully rested in the bullpen available! And he’s done an outstanding job the couple chances he’s had so far! Hmmm.....🤔

That would certainly be an ultimate test for him to showcase where he’s at

Played 4 games this afternoon and won just one game out of the four. It is what it is at this point. 12.5 games back of the wildcard with 19 to play.

I'll probably get on later tonight and stream some more baseball.

Yep! I decided to play the first of 3 against Washington first instead of the Memphis Championship game (which would actually be the proper order due to game start times), and lost 4-1 at Sportsman’s Park. Think my rally ran outta gas a couple weeks too early as well 😥

Just a thought if anyone’s interested, but if anybody would like to friendly (no money) wager on my postseason, I could post brackets when I get there and even screen shot lineups and rotations. Let me know if so. Maybe I can put up some gift tokens as a reward! Lol

I always say my franchise is its own separate universe, but now that the real Braves have signed Keuchel, I'm tempted to follow suit.

I already signed Kimbrel earlier, but Keuchel would address a need in my franchise. Newcomb has a 6.25 ERA, so I could move him to the pen and put Keuchel in the rotation. Tomlin would probably be the odd man out, although I could trade O'Day or Vizcaino to offset some of the additional salary.

With just 19 games to play and a team that is 11 games under .500 with the most strikeouts in baseball, I've decided to clean house starting with the staff. I fired the hitting coach, pitching coach, 1st base coach, and 3rd base coach. Signed "A" attribute grade replacements for all of them. Mike Shildt's seat is flaming hot right now, and the only reason he hasn't been relieved of his duties is because there are no viable replacements for him yet. I'll be looking closer when the season ends. Maybe a team will fire their manager. We'll see. I'll be moving on from some players in the offseason as well. This GM is geared for the end of the year and basically looking forward to the 2020 season.

Stream is about to go live. I'll be playing a couple more games tonight.

Itching to restart my Phillies franchise after reading these updates. I was 0-2 and haven’t played over a month due to a lack of time. I’m thinking of restarting if for nothing else, I don’t want Odubel Herrera as my centerfielder.

Keuchel is a Brave. Newcomb to the bullpen. Tomlin to AAA and the trade block.

To all you guys who play every inning of every game and are struggling through a losing season but keep hanging in I’ve got much love and respect. It’s something when you can support your team when they are losing but to actually spend time playing with a losing squad is truly special.

Hang in there boys. You have my respect.

So I decided to call up a young rookie last night to give him his first start of his career. It didn't go so well. He lasted just 2 innings giving up 7 earned in the second inning. Down 7-0 in the 3rd inning, I did my best to fight back and I ended up losing 9-6.

I'm about to boot up the stream and play a few more games today! Looking forward to finishing the season soon. I've got my eye on Chris Sale for next year.

PCL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME 5 LIVES UP TO BILLING FROM START TO FINISH

*** editors note: I was so tired I was literally falling asleep between and during pitches in the last inning! Forgot to even screenshot the recap screen lol!!

                              GAME 5:
                              Derrick Holland vs Genesis Cabrera

Memphis decided on 21 yo Cabrera to get the starting nod, but had said in interviews the hook would be in hand and ready as soon as needed, and that in fact nobody was unavailable! This was a do or die game at any cost! And Cabrera responded like a season vet allowing not a single base runner for the first 2 frames, and doing well enough to get him through 5 2/3 before being pulled!

DeJong would lead the game off with a towering drive to right center that bounced just off the top of the wall but giving him a triple! Unfortunately slid hard into third and didn’t get up, grasping his arm on the ground! After the trainers took a long look decided he needed to be removed from the game. Bitter sweet start for the Redbirds!

                              IMG_0330.jpg

Yairo Munoz, who had very limited time throughout this post season who take his spot at SS, and wind up scoring on an infield sacrifice.

Sacramento would take the lead 2-1 in the bottom of the 3rd as Cabrera found himself in some trouble for the first time in the game, causing the Redbirds bullpen to begin stirring. But the kid stayed calmed and worked out of it.

Bader caught a hanging slider from Holland in the 4th sending it over the left field wall tying the game back up at 2.

                              IMG_0346.jpg

Then in the bottom of the 5th came more bad news for the Redbirds, when Sosa diving for a shot hit down the line at third landed extremely awkwardly on his arm, appearing to have broken it. He would leave the game and more will be known after exrays! Sosa was by far one of the biggest standout young players throughout this postseason and really throughout the entire year! Very disappointing! Triunfel, the AA Springfield standout and all star this year, who also had seen next to no time this postseason yet, would take his spot. The River Cats would get another run that inning, putting them up 3-2, but Cabrera again worked out of trouble! And again Memphis would promptly tie it back up in the top of the 6th at 3 each!

                              IMG_0333.jpg

                              IMG_0334.jpg

Then the bullpens would go to work! And both teams pens were on point! Each team had solid opportunities in the eighth and ninth innings to take leads, but masterful pitching came through every time!

Until the 13th inning, when Bader came up with 1 out and Fowler on first! Crushing his second HR of the night putting the Redbirds up 5-3! Sacramento would bring Gott in after that but it was 1 batter too late as the damage was already done! Brebbia who was already in the game from the previous inning would seal the deal giving Memphis the PCL CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE! Start the party Memphis!

One more game, the AAA Championship against the IL Champion, Gwinnett Stripers (ATL affiliate)! No idea who will be available to pitch as Memphis literally emptied their pen for this one, and now are a couple position players down as well possibly!
