Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread
JULY 12, 2020
The Chicago Cubs have four players headed to the 2020 MLB All-Star Game in Los Angeles, including two starters. Shortstop Javier Baez, catcher Willson Contreras, outfielder Kyle Schwarber and closer Craig Kimbrel are all headed to the mid-summer classic. Baez and Contreras will be in the starting lineup.
"It's always fun and exciting," said Baez. "It's an honor to be a part of it."
Baez, who is in the midst of contending for an NL MVP award leads the league in hitting with his impressive .370 batting average. The Cubs shortstop has also knocked 27 home runs and driven in 74 runs.
Contreras has posted a slash line of .351/.416/.690 and racked up 23 home runs and 68 RBIs. Schwarber's slash line of .307/.418/.632 along with his 23 homers and 58 RBI's earned him the All-Star nod as well.
Craig Kimbrel represents the only Cubs pitcher. Kimbrel has recorded 28 saves in 2020 for the Cubs, has an ERA of 1.53 and a 0.79 WHIP. Kimbrel has struck out 50 hitters in 35 1/3 innings pitched while walking just 16.
The Cubs would have likely had a fifth All-Star in Kris Bryant but an injury has sidelined the slugger for the last week. Bryant is expected to be back with the team shortly after the All-Star break.
Javier Baez will also be competing in the 2020 Home Run Derby.Comment

A Trip Around the League: MightyMaxxx13’s COVID-free MLB 2020 Season Simulation
April 11, 2020
Orioles 3, Pirates 1
Andrew Velazquez hit a 2-out, 2-run, walkoff homer off Pirate reliever Sam Howard in the bottom of the 9th to win it. Asher Wojciechowski pitched 3 perfect relief innings for the win and combined with Kohl Stewart to hold the Buccos to just 4 hits. Chad Kuhl pitched well for the Pirates in his return to the league - 1 run and 6 K’s over 5 IP.
Blue Jays 3, Royals 0
Jacob Waguespack was masterful, allowing just a walk and a single hit over 7 shutout innings with 8 K’s. Anthony Bass and Ken Giles finished off the shutout.
White Sox 2, Twins 1
Sox win their 5th in a row to move to a commanding 11-3. Randy Dobnak and Reynaldo Lopez both pitched well and the Sox scored the go ahead run in the bottom of the 8th off Devin Smeltzer.
Indians 4, Rays 1
Brendan McKay was shaky again, allowing longballs to Franmil Reyes, Jose Ramirez, and Jordan Luplow. Shane Bieber struck out 8 over 7.2 for his first win.
Tigers 7, Angels 1
Tigers trounced the Halos for the second day in a row. JaCoby Jones hit 2 doubles and drove in 4, and Miguel Cabrera added a homer. Shades of vintage Jordan Zimmermann, who allowed just a run and 3 hits over 8 innings pitched.
Yankees 6, Athletics 5
Yanks went up 5-0 early then staved off a late A’s comeback to win their 4th in a row. After starting 2-5 they’ve won 7 of 8. Jonathan Loaisiga earned the win and Daniel Mengden took the loss.
Mariners 4, Red Sox 2
Marco Gonzales secured his first win with 8 innings of 1-run ball. Evan White picked up 2 hits and 2 RBI’s. The rookie, and presumptive face of the Mariners rebuild, is batting over .300.
Rangers 2, Astros 1
Kyle Gibson and Jose Urquidy locked up for a pitchers duel in this one. Scoreless through 7, Shin-Soon Choo would hit a 2-run blast off of Joe Smith in the 8th to take the lead. Lights-out Jose Leclerc picked up save #6 and the Rangers are in position to sweep the defending AL champs with a win tomorrow.
Braves 5, Marlins 3
Ronald Acuna, Adam Duvall, and Austin Riley went deep to secure the win. Brad Boxberger surrendered the go-ahead runs in the 9th and Will Smith earned the save.
Cubs 3, Cardinals 2
Cubs are now the proud owners of an 8-game winning streak and the Cards have dropped 4 in a row. Jason Heyward hit a walkoff dinger off Giovanny Gallegos to win this one in the 10th inning. DeJong and Carpenter went deep for the Redbirds off of Tyler Chatwood, but the team left a whole slew of runners on base in the loss.
Reds 6, Phillies 2
Reds beat the brakes off Vince Velasquez with 10 hits and 4 runs in 4.2. Reds can secure a 4-game sweep with a win tomorrow.
Brewers 10, Mets 7
Both teams tallied 17 hits each in this one. The pitching was ugly - Rick Porcello was chased after 5 runs in 1.1 and Corbin Burnes astonishingly gave up FOURTEEN hits in 4.2. Avisail Garcia and Christian Yelich each had 3 hits and Garcia drove in 4 runs. The Mets are floundering early sitting at 4-10.
Rockies 9, Diamondbacks 3
Rockies offense has been potent. 2 dingers from Arenado in this one in addition to 3 hits from Daniel Murphy and 3 RBI from Trevor Story.
Dodgers 6, Nationals 1
Dodgers have won 4 in a row. Dustin May bounced back from a clunker in his last one to allow just a run over 6.1 for his first win. Anibal Sanchez lasted just 4 innings and took the loss.
Padres 4, Giants 0
Cal Quantrill had a game, pitching 8 shutout innings and striking out 6. Kirby Yates pitched a perfect 9th to lower his ERA to 19.28.
LEAGUE TRANSACTIONS
Marlins place OF Harold Ramirez on the 10-day IL with a torn calf. Ramirez has been a beast at the plate for the fish, slashing .373/.393/.588 through 51 AB’s. He’ll miss 1-2 months. Marlins recall OF Monte Harrison from AAA Wichita. Harrison is the Marlins #6 prospect and is slated to make his MLB debut.
Athletics place C Austin Allen on the 10-day IL with a blister and recall C Sean Murphy from AAA Las Vegas. Allen soundly beat out Murphy for the job in spring training, but may be getting replaced permanently as he’s really struggled at the plate thus far.
White Sox place OF Daniel Palka on the 10-day IL with an ACL sprain and recall LF/1B Nicky Delmonico from AAA Charlotte.
Indians activate RHP Mike Clevinger from the IL and option RHP James Hoyt to AAA Columbus. Clevinger underwent knee surgery in February but is back to full strength. He hopes to give a lift to the 6-10 Indians who have struggled early on.
Twins reinstate RHP Fernando Romero from the restricted list and option him to AAA Rochester.
Mets activate IF Jed Lowrie from the IL and place UT Eduardo Nunez on outright waivers.
Brewers activate OF Tyrone Taylor from the IL and option him to AAA San Antonio

A Trip Around the League: MightyMaxxx13’s COVID-free MLB 2020 Season Simulation
April 12, 2020
Orioles 2, Pirates 1
O’s complete the 4-game sweep in the rematch of the 79 World Series. The pitiful Pirates have surpassed the Mariners for worst record in the majors at 2-14. Chris Archer was the hard luck loser in this one working 7 innings and allowing just 3 hits.
Royals 4, Blue Jays 0
Jorge Lopez turned in another gem in this one, striking out 10 over 7 shutout innings. In 3 starts this year he is 3-0 with a 2.61 ERA. Bubba Starling homered and the Royals are 10-5.
Twins 14, White Sox 9
Twins scored 8 runs off Michael Kopech in a wild 4th inning. Kopech hit 2 batters and walked 6 guys all in the inning. His final line? A single hit allowed, but EIGHT earned runs as all of those guys would come around to score. The offense was wild too. Nelson Cruz, Josh Donaldson, and Mitch Garver each had 4 RBI’s. 4 different White Sox went deep as well. The Twins are 11-5 and the Sox 11-4.
Rays 9, Indians 5
Mike Clevinger was shaky in his return from the IL - he walked 5 and allowed 5 runs in 4.1. Mike Zunino homered for the Rays and Yoshi Tsutsugo picked up 3 hits and 2 RBI’s.
Tigers 7, Angels 0
Tigers complete the sweep and the Angels pitching has just been bad. For the second day in a row JaCoby Jones went yard and tallied 4 RBI’s. Spencer Turnbull pitched 7.1 and struck out 9.
Yankees 4, Athletics 2
Yanks complete the sweep and have won 5 in a row. Gerrit Cole allowed just a solo homer and struck out 10 over 7 IP. Gary Sanchez led the offense with 2 hits and a homer and finally got his batting average up above .100.
Mariners 11, Red Sox 6
The Mariners entered this series winless but come away winners in 3 of 4. Every single Mariner had at least one hit in this one as they put a hurting on Nate Eovaldi and Marcus Walden. Tim Lopes homered and drove in 5 runs.
Astros 5, Rangers 1
Stros avoid the sweep behind 2 RBI’s each from Josh Reddick and Michael Brantley. Framber Valdez struck out 10 over 6 innings.
Braves 5, Marlins 3
Sandy Alcantara took a shutout into the 7th but the Braves finally got to him for 2 runs in the inning then 3 more in the 8th off Jeff Brigham. Mike Soroka earned his 2nd win.
Cubs 6, Cardinals 3
Cubs run their winning streak to 9, thanks to Victor Caratini who homered twice and drove in 5. Colin Rea earned his 3rd win in relief of Kyle Hendricks and Craig Kimbrel picked up save #6. Cubs have the best record in the NL at 12-4.
Phillies 5, Reds 4
Phillies dodge the sweep behind Aaron Nola, who allowed just 3 runs over 6 despite allowing 6 walks. Jay Bruce was 3-4 and drove in 2 runs. Hector Neris allowed a run in the 9th but secured his league-leading 7th save.
Mets 10, Brewers 1
Mets pounded Josh Lindblom, who hasn’t been good since returning from a multi-year stint in Korea. Robinson Cano and JD Davis combined for 7 RBI’s and Michael Wacha twirled 6 innings for the W.
Diamondbacks 5, Rockies 4
D Backs put up 10 hits in a full-team effort. Luke Weaver earned the win in relief of Robbie Ray and Yoan Lopez notched his 4th save.
Dodgers 8, Nationals 2
Dodgers complete the sweep and make it back to .500 at 8-8. Mookie Betts, Max Muncy, and Cody Bellinger all homered and Kershaw bounced back from a clunker in his last start for an 8-inning win. Asdrubal Cabrera and Eric Thames are both batting under .100 for the Nats.
Padres 4, Giants 1
Padres secure the 3-game sweep behind Chris Paddack, who scattered 10 hits over 8 IP for the win. Kirby Yates struck out 2 in the 9th for the save. Tommy Pham picked up 3 hits and is batting a robust .366.

Cardinals 11-17 in the month of August
The Cardinals concluded the month of August being swept by the Braves in Atlanta to finish the month 11-17, but still maintain an 8 game lead on the Brewers in the Central Division.
The Cardinals (78-56) had an extremely rough month that saw losing streaks of 5 games, 4 games, 3 game, and are currently on a 3 game losing streak. Injuries played a role as Anthony Rendon, Paul DeJong, Juan Fabregas, Junior Fernandez, Carlos Martinez, Michael Wacha, and Kolten Wong made trips to the IL with Fernandez, Wacha, and Wong still there.
It also saw the bullpen really struggle to close out games or keep the Cardinals in games and saw an offense dwindle, especially Jo Adell and Paul DeJong.
The Cardinals will open September in Wrigley for their final series, 3 games, against the Cubs this weekend. They will conclude the season at home against the Brewers in a 4 game series, but hopefully the division will be clinched by then.

Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread
Time to start my annual rebuild. My 30-team sim has been fun but it is daunting and I need a break from it, so it’s on pause. Let’s see if we can turn a low-budget team into a winner. Of course I’ll still be using 30-team control to babysit the rest of the league. Real injuries to start the season. Realistic trades and transactions only. What better choice than the Pittsburgh Pirates?
The Pirates are a storied franchise. Proud owners of 9 division titles, 9 National League Pennants, and 5 World Series titles (1909, 1925, 1960, 1971, 1979). The franchise has produced baseball royalty in the likes of Honus Wagner, Roberto Clemente, and Willie Stargell. Unfortunately, most baseball fans born after the ‘70’s won’t remember those Pirates. Beginning in 1993, the Pirates embarked on the longest losing streak in North American professional sports history. 20 straight losing seasons before finally turning out a winner and a wild card berth in 2013. Two more wild card berths in 2014 and 2015 would follow, but sadly those decent Pirates teams couldn’t muster more than a trip to the NLDS. The team has returned to its losing ways of late, culminating in a particularly sour season in 2019.
After hanging around .500 and looking fairly competitive for a few months , the team fell apart in the summer. Stud pitcher Jameson Taillon fell victim to a ruptured UCL which required the dreaded Tommy John Surgery. The entire bench got their a$$ whooped by Amir Garrett on live TV. Rumors of clubhouse fights among players reached the media. All-star closer Felipe Vazquez was charged with ..... well, we won’t get into that one. The result was a 69-93 finish, good for last place in the division. Manager Clint Hurdle and GM Neal Huntington were given their walking papers.
The team crashed and burned in more ways than one. I see some positives on this roster and some decent looking prospects to build around. Let’s see if we can bring a winner back to Pittsburgh.Last edited by MightyMaxxx13; 05-16-2020, 10:04 PM.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread
PITTSBURGH PIRATES FRANCHISE
February 2020
MIGHTYMAXXX13 ANNOUNCED AS NEW BUCCOS GM
We’ll be replacing Neal Huntington at the helm of the team. Huntington was the longest tenured GM in the NL (2007) before being given the boot after the team’s worst finish since 2010. His biggest accomplishment was ending the team’s 20-year losing streak in 2013 (albeit, a few of those years belonged to him). His worst accomplishment is one that is probably going to haunt me. In 2018 he shipped Tyler Glasnow, Austin Meadows, and Shane Baz to Tampa for Chris Archer. Glasnow and Meadows look like they are on their way to stardom as cornerstones in Tampa, and Archer became a sub-par pitcher in short order. This is one that could be looked back on as one of the worst trades of the decade.
Owner Bob Nutting is a notorious cheap spender. After interim GM Ben Cherington shipped Starling Marte out to Arizona before the season, the team’s payroll sits at a paltry $60 million. Nutting has already informed me that he doesn’t want to spend much more this season, so we are firmly in a rebuild. My goal will be to have an intentionally tenuous relationship with Nutting .... pushing the boundaries of his appetite for spending whenever possible. For the time being this team isn’t close to competing so there is no need to push the envelope until we get a bit closer. Luckily I’m inheriting a fairly large scouting budget (~$10 million).
Sadly I didn’t get to pick my coaching staff. That, along with the rest of the roster, is pretty much in place as we’re taking over right before the start of Spring Training. The good news is new skipper Vince Shaw is of the new-age mindset, meaning he’s open to collaboration with the GM. I’ll be fairly active in setting lineups and bullpen roles. As for the roster, I may make some minor transactions before games start but I’m for the most part working with what I have.
Let’s take a quick look at the roster heading in to Spring Training:
Starting rotation:
Chris Archer is our de-facto ace. The 31-year old had a career-worst year in 2019, posting a WAR of just 0.6 and inflating his FIP by more than 1.2 runs over 2018. Him turning things around, and creating some value as a trade chip, is crucial to this rebuild taking a step forward in 2020. He’ll be a free agent after the season. Joe Musgrove and Trevor Williams will anchor the middle of the rotation. Both are still under team control, under 30, and have some upside remaining. #1 prospect Mitch Keller had a rough introduction to the majors in 2019, but he’s likely here to stay. Veteran righty Chris Stratton is out of options, so we will get a nice long look at him as a #5 or long reliever. He’ll compete with Chad Kuhl (returning from injury) and JT Brubaker (rookie).
Bullpen
We have at least one stud in closer Keone Kela. He throws gas and has a nasty curve. Unfortunately he’s headed for free agency after 2020 which means he’s probably a trade chip. I’d like to sign him to an extension but, if he ends up pitching as well as I think he will, he could end up being one of the most valuable relievers on the market at the deadline. Other relievers? Yes we have guys filling those spots. Edgar Santana and Kyle Crick are controllable and still have some upside, but they’re not spectacular. Somehow whoever put this roster together figured we only needed one lefty on the entire 40-man roster. His name is Sam Howard, he was a waiver claim from Colorado and has pitched just 23 innings in the majors.
Catchers
Jacob Stallings and Luke Maile are the only two on the 40-man. Both are defensive studs, with Stallings grading elite or double-plus in regard to blocking pitches, calling games, and gunning down baserunners. Neither can hit particularly well, but if they can be at least competent offensively they can justify their spot on the team. I’m not a huge fan of having two guys at the same position with basically the same profile but at least we have premium defense at a premium position.
First Base
Josh Bell is the guy. One of the biggest breakout performers in 2019 is a switch hitter who clubbed 37 homers and a .936 OPS. He’s 27 and under team control for 3 more years.
Second Base
Kevin Newman is the most likely starter here. He’s a double-plus hitter against lefties and righties which is rare, and hit over .300 in his first full season in 2019. He’s a plus runner but has sub-par power and well below-average defense which isn’t a good look in the middle infield.
Third Base
#2 Prospect Ke’Bryan Hayes is nearly ready to play. I think he could use another few months in AAA before taking over, but he’s on the 40 so we’ll get a look at him. Colin Moran is the starter otherwise. Has a good hit tool and good arm, but below-avg power, no speed, subpar glove.
Shortstop
Youngster Cole Tucker still needs some development but he played in 56 games last year and should be ready to go now. Erik Gonzalez and JT Riddle have more of a utility profile but either could start at short if it looks like Tucker needs to start the year in AAA. #3 Prospect Oneil Cruz is in camp and has the highest ceiling of the bunch, but is a year or two away. Riddle is the best defender of the bunch.
Outfield
Centerfielder Bryan Reynolds has one of the best pure hit tools in the majors and if his power comes on a bit more, he could be a true 5-tool player. Only his second year in the majors so he will be a key face of the rebuild. Gregory Polanco will be the man in right and left field is looking like a left/right platoon between Adam Frazier and Guillermo Heredia.
Bench
JT Riddle and Adam Frazier are both multi-position guys, so their chances of making the team in a utility role is pretty good though either could also end up starting. Veteran outfielder Jarrod Dyson figures to make the team on the strength of his elite glove and plus speed in center. Jose Osuna likely has a role as a pinch hitter and occasional cornerman.
Overall, this looks like a small ball team. Lots of contact/speed guys. Unfortunately, we don’t have the defense or pitching to back it up. This team doesn’t seem to be particularly close to competing on paper.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread
Manic Mets Franchise:
The Mets made another big swing acquiring Dodgers LF Joc Pederson for CF Mariano Feliz, CF Ryan Cordell and CF Barrett Barnes. Trading their OF Farm system for Pederson on the last year of his contract is a risk, however necessary given their dissatisfaction with Puig and Cruz splitting time. Pederson will go in a platoon role hitting against RHAP while Cruz hits against LHAP and Puig moves to the bench.
With only 8 days till the trade deadline, reports are the Mets are exploring options looking at Twins 3B Miguel Sano and potentially moving him to the OF in a Pederson swap. Mets declined to comment. Sources say they appear to be satisfied with both Gio Urshela and newcomer Pederson (who would be then offered a contract before the seasons end).
A scout compared his game with favorability to Michael Conforto and the Mets appear to be ready to go all in with the twin power hitters in the outfield.
Mets @ Reds 3 game series:
---
Game 1: Mets win a surprisingly close 11-9 game. The game was close till the 5th when the Mets exploded for 10 runs including 4 RBI's from Conforto and 2 from Alonso. Both Conforto and in his Mets debut Pederson hit HR's.
Corey Kluber (10-2) pitched 6 innings with 4 SO's but 5 ER as he left runners on base in the 6th that led to 2 runs. Jose de Leon (4-6) took the loss going 0 innings with 4 hits given up and 5 ER's ballooning his ERA to 6.45.
In the 9th, the Reds scored 4 runs and 3 HR's off the Mets RP Soria forcing them to go to their closer Seth Lugo (27) to save the game's last 2 outs.
---
Game 2: The Mets lose 6-3 evening the series at 1 a piece. Lance Lynn (9-8) took the loss going only 5 innings and giving up 10 hits on 5 ER's despite 6 SO's, after a horrible 2nd inning giving up 4 runs. Luis Castillo (8-7) got the win going 6 innings and giving up 3 ER's on 9 SO's.
The Reds led throughout with HR's by Votto and Galvis. Pete Alonso hit a 2 run HR, his 47th of the season but the Reds managed 14 hits to take it easily.
---
Game 3: The Mets win a blowout to take the series, 11-5. Andrew Heaney (10-3) despite giving up 11 hits and 4 runs, got the win with 6 SO's in 6 innings. The loss went to Trevor Bauer who only went 3 innings for 7 ER's and 3 walks. The Mets scored 5 runs in both the 3rd and 4th innings including HR's by Amed Rosario, Torres, Conforto, Cespedes and newly acquired Met Pederson.
The game was so out of hand by the 6th, the Mets took a good portion of their starters out to give them a rest before a big month ahead.
The Mets travel to Philadelphia with a 3 game series agains the Phillies. They go to 71-31 and are 7.0 games ahead of the 2nd place Braves.Comment

Re: MLB The Show 20 Franchise Discussion Thread
2020 PITTSBURGH PIRATES - TOP 10 PROSPECTS
#1 - RHP Mitch Keller
Keller was the Pirates 2nd Round pick in 2014 out of Xavier HS in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He brings big time velocity, with a heater that averages 95 and a slider that can touch 90. He’s barely still a prospect, since he made 11 major league starts last year and fell just 2 innings short of exceeding rookie status.
MAJOR sidebar here. I’m not a big fan of Keller. I think he’s way too hittable and doesn’t have the durability to be a frontline starter. He surrendered 72 hits over his 48 MLB innings last year which is way too many for a guy with his stuff. He’s got the command to limit walks but is wild in the zone and gets hammered. His breaking pitches are fast but don’t have the big break they need. He’s done all he can in the minors so it’s time to sink or swim. Hoping I am wrong, and that he turns into a stud.
#2 - 3B Ke’Bryan Hayes
32nd overall pick in 2015 out of Concordia Lutheran HS in Tomball, Texas. Also the son of former big leaguer Charlie Hayes. Ke’Bryan is a well-rounded player who does everything well and has few holes in his game. We’d call him a 5-tooler if not for his below average running speed. He slashed .265/.336/.415 in AAA last year so is just about ready to get to the show. I’d like to see him juice those numbers up a bit in the first half of 2020 before making the call.
#3 - SS Oneil Cruz
Cruz was a Dodgers international signing (DR) who was acquired for reliever Tony Watson at the trade deadline in 2017. This dude is an anomaly as a shortstop that stands 6’7”!! He swings lefty, has plus speed, and projects for plus power too. His defense needs some work, but all signs point to him being able to stay at short. He’s on the 40-man roster now but is still just 21 and probably won’t make his MLB debut until 2021.
#4 - OF Travis Swaggerty
10th overall pick in 2018 out of South Alabama. Swaggerty is a true centerfielder with plus speed and a glove thats already close to MLB-ready. His ceiling is highly dependent on the development his bat. He should get a full year in AA in his age 22 season. As a lefty swinger and thrower, < 6’0”, plus speed, he comps to Brett Gardner.
#5 - OF Jason Martin
Martin was an 8th round pick of the Astros in 2013 who was acquired in the Gerrit Cole trade. He’s a stud defender with plus speed, arm strength, and reaction times that could make him a gold glover at any of the 3 outfield positions. Like Swaggerty, he’s got some work to do with the bat to reach his ceiling. He made his MLB debut in 2019 and slashed .250/.325/.306 in 36 at-bats. He has an outside shot to break camp with the team.
#6 - 2B/SS Kevin Kramer
2nd round pick in 2015 out of UCLA. Kramer made it to the majors in 2018 but took a step back last year and spent a lot of time at AAA. He’s a plus defender who’s got a chance to have some pop, just needs to cut down on the strikeouts and improve his plate discipline. He has a chance to break camp as the starting shortstop or as a reserve infielder.
#7 - RHP Braxton Ashcraft
2nd round pick in 2018 out of Robinson (TX) High School. Physically checks all the boxes - 6’5” 195 with some projectability and still only 20. He’s a sinker/slider guy and could be a mid-rotation starter in a few years. For now he’s headed to Low-A Greensboro and is probably 3 years away.
#8 - OF Chris Sharpe
14th round pick in 2017 out of UMass-Lowell, could be a diamond in the rough. He’s a stud defender with plus speed. Projects as a 4th outfielder for now but if he hits a bit more he could be a starter one day. He’s in his age 24 season and slated for AA, but his glove is MLB-ready now so he’s got a shot to get to the show in 2020.
#9 - IF Liover Peguero
Part 1 of the return for Starling Marte, Peguero was originally a Diamondbacks international signed (DR). He’s still 19 and is way off from the majors, but comps to Jean Segura as an offensive-minded infielder type. He’ll spend the full year in A-ball.
#10 - RHP Brennan Malone
Part 2 of the return for Starling Marte, the DBacks made him the 33rd overall pick last year before shipping him to us. 6’4”, 205, 4-pitch repertoire. Still in rookie ball and 19 years old. A year behind Ashcraft and 3-4 years away from being on the radar.Last edited by MightyMaxxx13; 05-17-2020, 09:29 AM.Comment

The Cardinals took 2 games of the 3 game series against the Cubs in Busch Stadium. The Cardinals won the first two games of the weekend series before losing the series finale on Sunday.
The Cardinals got solid pitching in the series and sufficient offense as Anthony Rendon and Juan Fabregas returned to the lineup to add balance. Jo Adell climbed out of his slump getting 5 hits, 2 homeruns and 6 RBI's in the series. Anthony Rendon was also solid earning 8 hits in the 3 game series.
The Cardinals will now host the Pirates for a 4 game series starting tomorrow.I can't shave with my eyes closed, meaning each day I have to look at myself in the mirror and respect who I see.
I miss the old days of Operation Sports :(
