Just wondering what was going on with your 15-4 lost, not paying attention to pitch location or not patience at the plate at the times you need to be, just curious. Hop!!
I wasn't in the game all the way as if it was like a 1 run game but I had a few opportunities to get some runs and I wasn't able to come through when I thought my swing was pretty good, in games past that was usually good enough to keep the inning going. But, again, this game was rather inconclusive. I've never had that huge problem of the CPU coming back like gangbusters once I've went up a lot of runs, I've won some games by a lot with CPU comeback off and threw a shutout as well. Problem was I able to comeback too easily; although, at times, it did seem like the CPU scored too often right after I scored.

Off to watch the last episode of Battlestar Galactica,

    So say we all

Tried my hand at this CPU Comeback ON option after reading this thread.
My Rangers season against Baltimore. All Star default. Played 2 games.

1st game. Jumped out to a 7-1 lead. Carried it into the 7th...and then...uh...yeah.

Baltimore TEN hits in the inning for EIGHT runs. I did everything except black magic trying to get the 3rd out. Ended up losing 10-8. Gave up 21 hits in all.

2nd game. Down 3-0 after 3 innings. Won 9-3. Held them to 7 hits. Neftali Feliz was filthy, settling down nicely. I honestly think it was the first time I ever won by more than 3-4 runs.

I'm going to stick with it ON, and see how it goes. The first game could be chalked up to the fact that the Texas bullpen is comical.

Yep!! That's the one thing that is blatantly obvious when you switch it to ON. At least for me playing on Legend it is.

But when I first started playing I would blow the lead 9 times out of 10. I still have a lot of close games, but not nearly as much as I did when I first started playing. I've been having games with scores of
            4-1
            10-6
            8-4 etc.

BTW I'm using my sliders found here http://www.operationsports.com/forum...r-sliders.html

I would say those scores just backup the script theory.
looks like both teams score or both teams dont to me.
Has anyone been able to beat the CPU by a margin greater than 4 runs consitantly?
I would really like to see some HOF or legend players drop it down to what they think is easy and play ten games. I would bet the farm you cant blow out the CPU on a regular basis.

Early views and I think I notice this more cause im on Vet probably harder to notice on Legend ect.
So please dont laugh I played with Comeback off 3 innings of a playoff game and every inning the cpu Hitters seemed cocked and loaded , I noticied this along time ago also they almost twitched in the box and im sure it wasnt the stance lol ready to pounce.
After the 3rd inning I turned it ON and its like the game change I could just feel it RIGHT when I went back to the gamescreen the intensity was gone . No pounce and mind you im on Vet with blended sliders and I would love to hear what people on AS or Vet think ??? as I believe it would be easier to see on those levels.
Well im up 2-0 in the 5th so lets see what the cpu does ?
Oh Im retired and play 10 hours a day I prefer to play on AS vet only because I think that will give me the most realistic stats IMO .
Not looking to go pro online , just want great Realistic games that blend mostly player stats and a bit of my skill , but this is interesting stuff oh and I played 100s of games already and have seen it all so I dont think im dreaming yet.
I will say I could be dead on and I never had a shutout against the cpu intil my latest tweaks but this may also be a nice fix ? man my eyes hurt

Ok guys with it on I gave up a Hr to Longoria in the 5th and Navarro TB in the 6th its now tied 2-2 and on both HRs the Pitch was nowhere where I put it low and outside , low and inside and with my new sliders this never happens not with a no hitter 100 confidence Gavin Floyd !.
Now I know its only 1 game but I didnt have this problem since I switched to new sliders 2 days ago ?
So I gotta say a Big NO to its reversed but if it helps others im all for it
Man that pissed me Off brought back bad memories
                  magic pitch
Ps If you have that magic pitch location problem add to your HU pitch control or lessen cpu timing ?
But I prefer control Thanks Phoenix for all the tips you saved this game for me and Good luck guys

I'm the guy that gave the long recap of the Dodgers vs Orioles on Legend that I won pretty easily when I normally struggle on Veteran.

It's not that it felt like the Rookie and Legend modes were reversed. It felt hard to hit on Legend but easy to pitch. I've never gotten a starter through 8 innings alive much less only giving up 3Hs and 1R. On Rookie, it was easy to hit but hard to pitch. The pitching was just like I've been experiencing on Veteran. However, the hitting was very easy. I had 2 HRs and 5 Rs without really trying. I swung at everything and barely took any pitches.

I'm baffled by this game. I really liked it right out of the box on Veteran. My first 3 or 4 exhibition games, it felt like '08 except for the hitting. The cpu didn't go on a barrage of scoring like they've been doing lately. It wasn't till I started a franchise with the Braves that the comeback thing started to rear its ugly head. I had the lead late in all 3 games against the Phillies only to lose all 3 games late. I figured my bullpen just sucked.

From there, I started a fantasy draft franchise. That's when I really started struggling with pitching. I would get rocked with Smoltz, David Price, Clayton Kershaw, Volquez, Liriano, and anyone out of the bullpen.

I'm really frustrated with this game as a whole. If it is a disc issue, at least I can return it for another copy. If it's not a disc issue, I might just go back to '08 if there's no patch to fix it. I haven't been able to have consistent games to really know what's up with the comeback AI on my copy.

As far as the hitting being more difficult, I'm all for it. You should have to be patient and wait for your pitch to get solid hits. But, when you work the pitching meter perfectly, hit your spots, make smart pitches, and the cpu mashes at will, I have a problem with it. I like a challenge but I hate feeling like it's out of my control.

Is there anyone else with these same issues?

Yup.. I just played a game and I was winning 3-1 in the 8th.. Nationals had guys on 2nd and 3rd with 2 out. Milledge was up and I had him 0-2. I threw a splitter about 6 or so inches off the plate.. he pulled it for a 380 ft HR to take a 4-3 lead. I ended up losing. Ridiculous

The other thing that really bothers me and I cant figure out how to fix it is if you have a guy on 3rd base, and no matter what the situation, the guy will take off for home plate when you hit a ground ball. I cant control the runner in time to stop him from doing this. Its ridiculous. I counted 5x when the runner broke for home and was thrown out when the ball was hit to the left side of the infield. This has happened with nobody out also. Terrible

I haven't followed the whole thread. Are you saying that you are playing with Comeback OFF, or was this game played using Dave's theory of playing with it ON?
                              It's only a video game.

I agree with the guy who said you gotta test these in a season ! IMO exhibition plays easy you gotta set your sliders up in season mode but then when playoffs start it gets even tougher shall we say and you have to readjust them .
Sad part was I had to create 2 different slider sets to keep things realistic season and playoffs .
Off topic I always hated games that think they have to add cheats/cpu player boosts to make playoffs tougher , I mean if you have good sliders in season we dont need that .
