Ok so is this something that just happens on legend, or does it happen on all levels?

Ok...not to interrupt the conversation going on here with who is right or wrong, but where the heck do you find this option for comeback AI?? I checked gameplay sliders and can't find it there...is it only during a game?

Yeah. It's in-game under "Global Options" (Or is it general options?...lol...same diff.)

There's an option for CPU Comeback and 2P Comeback.

YES - It is only during a game. Under Gameplay Options.

And for what it's worth - I played 2 games with the Comback turned ON....I felt a difference in the game. It for the first time felt like '08. I know some of you don't see it...but the feeling was real and tangible to me. Oh yeah..i won both games By 1 & 2 runs respectively.

Thanks. I realized this setting (and this might be useful for those that can't find it) is ONLY for PLAYING the game. If you choose MANAGE ONLY, you do not get this option. That is why I couldn't find it before.

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON

I just played my 5th game with the CPU handicap ON, and still don't know what to make of it. I got blown out in 4 of those games, and did the blowing out in the other, lol. So don't know what to say.

The CPU scored early in almost every game (which has always been a complaint for me, more than any comeback glitch). Seems like I'm always playing from behind.

Anyway, when I was behind, I didn't notice the CPU getting any "easier". They still tacked on runs and hit away. I managed to make 2 small comebacks in 4 of my losses (never led), but the CPU just went on their famous 2 out barrages the very next half inning where it doesn't matter what/where I pitch.

The game I did win, I had a 4-0 lead before the CPU came roaring back in the 7th and 8th innings...but then I managed to blow it open and win 14-4 by scoring 10 in the bottom 8th.

Either way, I'll keep playing with it ON. I just haven't had the perfect setup to determine what is going on. I would like to be ahead in every game and see how the CPU plays.

But one thing for sure is, I didn't feel the CPU get any easier with the lead, and other than me having one or two little rallies, I didn't feel like I was coming back.

I play on All-Star by the way.

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON

I know box scores don't mean much and CAN NOT prove/disprove anything, I said it myself but for what it's worth I would like to share this. I just threw my first shutout. I was the Tigers (started a test season) against the Blue Jays. 4th game of the series #4 starters pitching. Edwin Jackson vs David Purcey. I threw 7.1 innings of 2 hit ball with Jackson before he was just too tired. I only had a 2 run lead so I decided to yank him in the 7th after he gave up a 1 out double.

I then brought in Rodney who got the last 2 outs in a row EASILY. I hit my 2 run HR in the 5th inning. That was all the scoring in the game. Lyon comes in for the 9th and mowes them down 1,2,3.

Man this game is awesome! I just saw the series stats (4 game series). So realistic. I batted .282 for the series with 3 HR's 14 RBI's my era was 3.71 everything just looked awesome.

Legend difficulty. No guess pitch. PCI on (helps me get an idea for the strikezone).

so after reading most of this thread I seen a few people say that the comeback on/off only has a affect on legend? or does it have more of a affect on legend?? just asking cuz im nowhere near the skill level for me to even think about legend, im having a hard time winning on all star this year as of right now

I can't speak for anybody else but I have heard a few people say that they have seen a difference on as far down as veteran. I'm not sure if it has more of an effect or less of an effect on Legend because it's the only level I play on. You have to just try and see for yourself how it plays for you.

Re: so I played my first game with CPU comeback set to ON

I want to join the discussion. I tried to play the game on All-Star but decided to lower it to Veteran after the CPU was killing my Pitchers. I was skeptical at first but said, why not try it. I've only played 3 games so far with CPU Comeback on, and as it's been said it doesn't even come close to being enough, but I've already noticed some differences.

The three games were against the Angels. I'm not in front of the PS3 right now so i cannot post exact scores but it was something like this:

                                Game 1 (Lost): Yankees - 5, Angels - 6
Here I thought, it's not working as the CPU still can hit every time it wants to. Guerrero hit a HR and another player (can't remember who) hit an opposite-field HR.

                                Game 2 (Won): Yankees 5, Angels - 0
First game I win by more than 4 runs

                                Game 3 (Won): Yankees 6, Angels - 1
Another game won by 5 runs, almost a shutout but the Pitcher walked two and the reliever allowed the only run before closing the bad inning.

I'll keep testing it but thus far I'm not seeing any comeback from the CPU. As far as my hitting, I haven't noticed any difference. But as far as Pitching, if things continue as they are, the Yankees may go from about being rated 21-24 in ERA to a better position.

As it has been stated a 3 game sample won't make us reach any conclusion. A sample of 30+ games is needed and even after that it will be hard to prove anything.
