    Tell me about it!
I played a test game last night ...and Daniel Murphy at 2B is NOT going to cut it!

Thanks Kearnzo, I believe most people will move to these sliders eventually.

Before, I felt like the CPU's first strike ratio was too high, now it's perfect. And lowering these does NOT mean you are going to have an easy time hitting. I roughed up Jon Garland in the first for 2 runs, but he held me to just one more run in a total of 6 innings. Biggest thing though, is that I drew four walks from him, which I had yet to accomplish. Pujols had 2 walks, and Molina and Holliday had one each as well. I wound up losing, as Carpenter got shelled for 5ER in 4 innings, while walking 4 himself.

I'm going to keep playing exhibitions with various teams to make sure i'm going to stick with these adjustments, but for now, I feel like I am in a bit more control at the plate without skewing stats at all.

Oh, and also, for people complaining about Pujols stance, are you serious? He looks DEAD on to me.

Has anyone stabbed a line drive and doubled a baserunner?

This has been a problem for me in almost every version of The Show. My thoughts are clear on this game: I love it...

but, I think this is a nagging problem.

This is why the fielding to me still is the weakest part of this series. Because the game not only takes the controller from my hand when it feels like but it also results in advantages to the cpu. Until this issue is addressed then the fielding will never be considered good.

How can the game take the control from me using Gardner to make that silly canned animation in slow mo I might add while the runner on 1st is running around second and then I try and max my throw and he throws a lame bouncer to third.

^^^Yeah, they still sacrifice some user control for animations at times. It can certainly be frustrating. Though with that play, did you preload before the animation started? Usually if you do that, those slow downs don't happen. There are far fewer instances of it this year at least, and I've actually gunned down several greedy runners already, which is something I struggled to do in previous iterations.

When you were running over to the ball you should have already pre-loaded your throw. Also you should have come over and in on an angular fashion and it would have unleashed a pretty serious throw. I need to post some vids showing this!

Yes I pre loaded before the dude got to the ball. But to me the worst part is that the canned animation goes in slow motion while the runner is running at normal speed.

I pre loaded and he thew to third in that lame duck lob. It happens every year with this game and I do not want to hear about the ratings and blah blah. I do not want the game to take control from me when I am going to make a play

I do not understand how some say they prefer auto fielding, for what since this is basically auto fielding in this game as assist.

I have never felt in control out there. As much as I love this game, this is not something that should happen in any sports game.

                  Rant over:

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread

Just played the first two games of my Cubs franchise. Lost 2-1 in the first game, each team had 6 hits. Won 4-2 in the second game, each team had 8 hits. Seems pretty realistic so far and fun too! I'm playing on All Star for everything and no analog controls. Timing for hitting, meter for pitching. The analog pitching isn't bad but I think it would just end up frustrating me more than it is worth. If I had more time to play during the week I'd probably try to stick with it.

Lowlight so far: Letting the Pirates steal home on me. They had runners at 1st and 3rd and tried a double steal. I was so shocked by it that I panicked and tried to move Soto towards the runner coming home but that just caused me to miss the tag. I should have just not moved at all I guess.

Highlight so far: Gunning down a runner at the plate with Marlon Byrd.

No No. There is no defending this please do not

If you notice I took a step in that direction and it automatically took control from me and went into a slow mo animation.

I pre loaded like I do with any throw I make to make the transition smooth. And he unleashed that lame duck.

But to me the throw is of not importance at this time. If I would not have been robbed of the control, I could be running in to field the ball and throw all in one motion

Why can't the animation take place when I am about to scoop up the ball

It took it from me from the jump and the animation i picked was for the lazy slow mo get down on your second base stance and gather up the ball while runner runs to third

                      Inexcusable really

Not defending it at all! I am very well aware the CPU takes over at times. There are ways around it. So when I post some vids showing it don't ask me how I did it!

Sorry but there is no way around it. If you are chasing a fly ball perhaps you might get a chance to get out of it which we SHOULD not have to do.

But on a quick hit like that where the control was take a step after I went that way there is no getting out of it.

The same animation just happened again with Brett Gardner but I did not care because there was no runners on and the guy who hit the single was not going for 2

Yeah, I'm still enjoying the game but the Hitting is frustrating to me.. I'm still able to get decent amount of hits, just can't seem to drive them in.

Hitting is not that difficult if you take pitches. I average about 12-15 hit a game and 3-7 runs a game. Analog only

I play on HOF across the board. Try and lower the cpu pitch strikes and that should help

Perhaps raise the contact swing and solid hits as well. Until you get more comfy
