Yes they stick. As far as I can tell. Also any changes you make in game stick. (Cameras, sliders etc.)

I didn't quite realize that all these issues were the same as last year as well. Very disappointing that they are still an issue.

The MLB: The Show franchise has produced what has been widely regarded to be some of the best sports titles over the past few years but one major deficiency has held the series back. The online play options and performance has always been terrible, or at the very least disappointing, especially compared to how other

        Major issues for me:
On bunts and cheap hits the ball is almost impossible to see near homeplate. Throws take a bit too long for the player to set and throw.
Online play is laggy and choppy (wired cable connection and game mode on tv). Hitting is ridiculous online, as I have to wait to swing until the ball has disappeared, yet i make contact.

        Minor issues:
The visual difference between a low ball and a ball fully in the dirt is not enough.

That's so great. I like how the sounds stick too.

            Online Impression;

I imagine online is going to be as good your isp. In my case it's absolutely turrible. Played 2 innings of 1 game. Massive lag and then booted due to the usual traffic/delay message that's plagued this game for years.

But like I said. My internet sucks. if I still had comcast it would probably be different.

Yeah, if your internet connection is on the poor side then the online portion is going to be virtually unplayable.

Had this since Friday and one word...wow! I've been following the series since 09 and this is the best yet. I've heard there are issues online but I've never played online anyway because I'm from the UK and the lag has always been terrible.

I've started a franchise with the Reds and last night delved into RTTS. I've using analog controls for everything, veteran hitting (stock sliders), All Star Pitching (stock sliders) and veteran throwing (stock sliders). I'm currently 7-7 in spring training and had some great games. I'm finally getting used to the timing when batting and I'm spraying the ball all over the park. I settled on the Wide Offset camera for batting, it helps me see the pitches and gives a GREAT view of the ballpark to showcase the graphics. Using the demo fielding was a bit hit and miss but I've since realised you only need to push the right stick ever so gently and I'm getting a LOT of good throws.

Best sports game this generation, period, even with its faults. No game can be perfect but its as close as you will get!!

Med school could not have come at a worse time! well, since mlb 11 released and I got it on the 8th, I have played 4 games...won only 1 of them I guess! I play all analog which is rough but realistic and thats how I play. Just hit my first HR with analog!!!!It was a nice little shot with Marlon Byrd at wrigley against the royals. (waitin on OS minors to hit the shelves for franchise so EX game suntil then) Game is awesome. I do the challenge of the week games which is pretty fun, but IMO, seems hopeless due to people playing it like 100 times and racking up so many points. Still very fun and if the right challenge comes along I will probably fork out money worse than a kid at an arcade with a blank check! Fun times with what little time I have. 3 more weeks and things will free up!

Are you just pushing straight up to hit, or (when applicable) are you pushing the stick to the right or left based on where the pitch is?

I want to go back to Analog and will be starting on Veteran this time, as I was on All-Star before. I really enjoy the mechanic, minus the last part, so I'm hoping that on Veteran it's more forgiving and I can just focus on my step and swing and not worry as much about location.

I know that I'm a bit late but, I wanted to drop in and say that the Music Editor this year is amazing. It could have been like this last year, IDK because I didn't even attempt adding music because it was so tedious in 09. But, this year you can actually see when each of the tracks starts so, it makes setting the marks that much faster. I completed the entire AL last night in about 20 minutes.

Let me preface this by saying I love the game. LOVE it. However, I know the devs keep tweaking fielding but they still don't have it right:

                              - Too often fielders lock into animations that don't allow me to adjust. The level of responsiveness is very poor IMO.
                              - Too often fielders take their time in the outfield when they really need to get rid of the ball with some sort of sense of urgency. Especially near the wall it's like they start performing ballet moves rather than just spinning around quickly and heaving the ball toward the infield so base runners have to hold up sooner. Maybe a "hurry" button like one of the triggers when throwing could be added with a higher risk of throwing error involved.
                              - Too often is it difficult to deal with balls off the wall (the Monster in Fenway is particularly problematic). I understand you can't know exactly where they'll drop but I feel like I have no clue at times and end up running around the outfield chasing down balls that should have been "Fenway singles." The AI is pretty lousy at this as well.
                              - And there absolutely needs to be an option to have an infielder cut off a ball thrown from the outfield. It's a necessity that you have to be able to react to what base runners are doing after the ball is thrown from the outfield.

This stuff has plagued the game for several years and while it's better than in the past it's nowhere close to good.

They really need to get rid of that little sound effect that plays ALL the time. It plays when a pitch is selected, when a cut scene changes, etc etc. Why have that there? I know something is happening, I can see it.

                                Annoying as hell, lol.
