As usual, this is a great game! When the rosters are complete it will be even better!

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
I skipped 2010, but I was still playing the Show 2009 pretty regularly. Wow... this is definitely a nice step up from 09. This is how to do a sports game. I wish all sports had games with this level of quality and realism. I feel like I'm really taking part in a baseball game when I play this game.
These guys are talented developers and I'll be playing this game very often.
If I were going to nitpick it would be about the reused commentary getting stale, but it can always be turned off if I get really sick of it. I'm sure time constraints just didn't allow them to get a lot of new lines in the game.
Overall, though, this is by far the best overall sports game I've seen on this generation of consoles. Other developers need to step their game up a LOT to even come close to what these guys have done for their respective sport. The closest in terms of quality that I've played is NBA 2k11, but that's still not even close to the overall polish and realism of this game.Comment

Man, I LOVE that ticker. Pitching from Broadcast view with the Cubs, sun moving across the sky, and scores popping up on the bottom of the screen, I could swear I'm watching a real game.
Amazing.Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
loving the game so far..
but everyone has praised the fielding, and I don't know why. This is my first PS3 Show experience...but my fielders take FOREVER to get rid of the ball, in the infield and outfield. Even with throws pre loaded well in advance. Cost me a run a game, sometimes much more. And I've seen my outfielders turn the wrong way when relaying or throwing to a base. Like the RF, fielding a ground ball down the right field line, should pick up and turn COUNTER clockwise when throwing to second or third base. But I've seen them do differently and it takes three times as long to get the ball out.
I do like the smoothness of fielders tracking down batted balls, and the jump/dive works real well, but the delayed throwing kills me. And it's probably something I'm doing wrong, but after 10 games I thought I would have figured it out. I'm using button throwing, bc my first game with analog throwing was a total disasterLast edited by NC State-31 UNC-27; 03-16-2011, 02:55 PM.Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
I feel like some of the faces are off.
Have only played the first 2 series' of the season as the Yanks and Jeter, ARod, and Teixeira's faces are off.
Jeter looked fine the past 3 years, why did they change his face?
Same with ARod.
When playing the Twins I noticed Morneau's face was way off! It was fine in earlier versions of the show.
Anyone else notice some player faces are worse this year than they were?
Not knocking the game for this, just noticed it, they improved a lot of faces too.We play today, we win today, das it!-

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
The knuckleball is broken and a half. I just got a 2-hit shutout thrown against me by RA Dickey in which he threw all of four balls in seventy-some pitches. It was a strike every time and I couldn't hit it out of the infield. It also doesn't show up on guess pitch. WTF?Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
Saw a nice little addition to franchise mode games for this year.
TRADE NEWS!
In between the 8th and 9th innings ....there was a nice little overlay showing a trade from the day before. Sort of like the out of town score overlay.
SWEET!
