I'm very impressed with the overall improvements they made based off of last years game. Ball physics are amazingly accurate, the pitching and hitting motions are greatly improved, and I even think the soundtrack is the best in the series for the show. Anyone know of a fun batting stance I can use to rake with?

They did it for me. They told me when Kershaw got his 500th strikeout and when Ethier hit his 100th HR.Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
Well, I'm throwing in the towel on Analog hitting. I just can't get it down. It seems that when I push up on the stick, the PCI winds up in the left side of the strike zone. I'm not doubting that b/c I'm sure I'm not going straight down-and-up with the stick, but that additional movement makes using Analog frustrating.
I'm fine with having to take a stride before actually swinging the bat (I actually prefer this method) but what I don't like is then having to try and push the R-stick Left Right or keep it straight. That's a little too much for me. I think things would be perfect if Analog adapted the Timing mode's method of placing the PCI for you, based on both timing and player statistics. Perhaps this will be in a future release?
So, I'm going to go with Timing from now on.
Analog pitching is good, but you have to force yourself to walk the CPU, at least on All-Star b/c the pitches are just too accurate. I am going to try out HOF and see how that goes.
I'm still rocking Veteran for fielding, using Analog control. I go to All-Star and my team refuses to make accurate throws. I'm not doing anything different with the sticks, either, but the results are vastly different. I may just wind up going back to buttons for this, too.
This is a great game and I do like the addition of new controls and I'm glad they are working for a lot of people. I gave all the features a fair shake but in order for me to enjoy the game, I just can't use some of the Analog controls, and that's OK. I'm glad that we have an option of what control-scheme to use.Currently Playing:

Awesome game! Really really enjoying every second!
Tried analogue batting but it didn't take me long to realise my skills aren't on par to do this thing they call analogue hitting, hahaha...
Analogue fielding = awesome!
Analogue pitching = my favourite aspect of the game so far!
I'm a sole Rtts player...and it's the first time I started a career with a pitcher rather than a batsmen/fielder simply because I really enjoy the analogue pitching so much! And also because the broadcast cams is so fun and realistic to play with!
DARN WORK! Counting the seconds untill 5pm so that I can go strikeout Ramone's *** in AASan Francisco 49ers
San Francisco Giants

Pitch on HOF with analog and lower the consistency slider for human pitching and walks would be easierComment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
The only thing about analog hitting is checking my swing seems to be a bit of an adventure.
Last year was my rookie season with the show, I'm used to the pitch speed now, so my plate discipline and eye has gotten miles and miles better, and my need to check isnt as frequent...but it seems like analog hitting is pretty much a all-in proposition once you commit your swing.
Everything else is just golden though...I really like analog.Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
I am still seeing HORRIBLE trade logic and AI lineups. In one trade SF sent Lincecum to Philly for Hamels. Straight up. WHY???? There was no reason for this move. Another trade saw Matt Joyce was was hitting over .300 with 22 HRs being traded for Choo, who was hitting .250 with 11 HRs. Ive seen the Mets manager in RTTS, play a minor leaguer over Reyes in SS for several series in a row. no injuries or performance issues on Reyes' part. This game is great but I cant figure out why they cant or wont address this glaring shortcoming.Comment

Re: Official MLB 11 The Show - Impressions Thread
I have only played a few games of season mode but so far I have seen an alert come up saying player so and so was however many hits away from 3,000. I haven't seen the hitting streak one or steals thing though I don't believe.Comment

To help my swinging, using my thumb and pointer fingers to pull back and push up. Seems like I am not getting as many annoying check swings.NFL - Dallas Cowboys, MLB - NY Yankees
NBA - Knicks, NHL - NY Rangers,
NCAABB - St. Johns Redmen (Redstorm)Comment
