Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
I finished another game with my cubs I lost 7-3 they scored 6 in the last 3 innings. The big blow was a scott Hairston 3run homer.Best of all I lost Miguel Montero for 2-3 weeks with Aramis already out for 1-2 months.
I traded for Rod Barajas and I brought up Gerald Laird from the minors to be a back up.

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
Trying finish the month of June on high note. I am in the middle of a 6 game road trip. I took the first series 2-1 over the Padres. Started game 1 against King Felix and the Mariners. I was kinda nervous at first about facing King Felix, but I handled him.
They jumped to a 1-0 lead, thanks to Smoak RF blast against Jurrjens. JJ did settled down going 6 1/3 giving up 1R, 2ks. I was down 1-0. I got rally going: Konrad singled, Chipper flied out to LF, B MAC singled to RF. Up came DAN U G G L A. King Felix laid in a 4SB inside, Uggla crushed it off the left foul pole over 400ft. 3R HR. I jumped to a 3-2 lead. King Felix finished the inning, but that was it for him.
They try to comeback Guiterrez hit a solo shot that was it. Kimbrel came in and closed it out. It was only my 26th win, but I am rolling with it...Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
Congrats on the record mate.
Haven't updated in awhile but I got real busy then real sick, but so far things have been good for the Mariners. We swept the Rays in the ALDS and frankly, it wasn't really a challenge. The pitching staff was amazing like usual and Justin Smoak provided the offensive lift for us.
In game one of the ALCS verse Boston, Felix went 8 and a third with four hits and no runs for a 2-0 win. Jason Vargas allowed four but we scored five for a 5-4 win and recently, Michael Pineda allowed one though seven, while the offense got a boost by mister clutch power, Carlos Peguero with a three run homerun for a 5-1. The Brewers are doing the same to the Mets and have a 2-0 lead so far.
One win away from the WS and it looks like it'll be the Mariners and the Brewers. Besides those two cities, about five people will be watching. Seattle has a baseball team???EPL - Arsenal
MLB - Seattle Mariners
NBA - Cleveland Cavaliers
NFL - Philadelphia Eagles
MLS - Seattle Sounders

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
The Seattle Mariners have won the ALCS in five
Pitching was the story throughout the whole series for Seattle and Felix Hernandez was far and away the ace, as he went eight and gave up one run. Clay Buchholz was rocked for six in the first three innings as Justin Smoak hit two homeruns and then another off Tim Wakefield for an 8-1 win.
The Mets managed to win four in a row after falling down 2-0 to the Brewers to go to the World Series as well. Game one will be Johan Santana verse Felix Hernandez at Safeco Field.EPL - Arsenal

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
Not sure if this is proper, as I've been posting updates in the Dynasty section.. but, anyway, I'm running a Phillies franchise and am very excited about the web page I've put together - Check it out if you'd like
As for the actual 'chise - I'm 52-30, having just wrapped up June. Ryan Howard has been a beast, more or less - he's hitting .311 with 29 HR and 63 RBI. Chase Utley already has 21 HR as well. Halladay has been ok - 7-6 but with a 2.62 ERA... Lee has been great - 10-3 with a 3.22 ERA - and Cole Hamels is 8-3 with a 2.74 ERA.. Oswalt has also been solid - 804 with a 3.05 ERA. Pitching well, but struggling with hitting at times (no shocker there, just like real life lol). Anyway - I hope you'll check out my page for my Phillies franchise!Currently Playing: FIFA 22 Career Mode - Manchester United ManagerComment

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
Though very unrealistic, it's still a fun franchise to play for me because I sim most games, but I do play a fair share of games. Currently my Pirates are 70-33. Extremely unreal and never going to happen but still its a blast for the 1/3rd of games that I play. James McDonald is on his way to a Cy Young at this point in late July. Neil Walker is having a career year. McCutchen and Tabata are both over the .300 clip. Hanrahan leads the league in saves. Coming up sharply on trade deadline and already posted for help in the trades thread. I need a LH reliever. Can't make it with Tony Watson, Beimel, and Danny Moskos as relievers. Other than that, it seems like I'm set as all of my top prospects are having dream seasons. I guess I'm just that lucky right now.Comment

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
The Mariners Take Game One
Felix Hernandez went head to head with Johan Santana and it looked like it would be an early blowout for Seattle. Justin Smoak continued his post season dominance with an early two run homerun, followed by a Miguel Olivo single that drove in Chone Figgans. In the third, Smoak drove in Franklin Gutierrez for an early 3-0 lead, and with Hernandez dominating, the game looked to be in the bag.
Sadly, the Mets scored twice in the seventh, running Hernandez from the game. Kuo got out of a two on two out jam to take the game into the bottom of the ninth.
I was a moron and forgot to warm up David Aardsma, so Brandon League pitched to one extra batter, Jason Bay, and of course, he doubled. David finally came on and got a quick pop out and then a ground out to advance Bay to third. I walked Beltran to face some rookie who I can't recall right now and I managed to walk him to. So up comes Jose Reyes with two down and the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth with one run lead. He swung a good pitch and drove it......right to Ichiro for out numer three!!!!

Re: MLB 11 The Show "Franchise/Season" Progress Thread
Speaking of Seattle, my first year with the Mariners is now officially over. After a solid first half, injuries derailed the second half and I finished with a record of 71-91, last in the AL West, 15 games behind division winner, Texas. The Rangers went from last-to-first after the All-Star Break; they were 14 games back at one point of Oakland, but managed to get hot the last 2 months of the season and won the division by 2.5 games over the Angels.
As I mentioned, injuries really hampered my team. Ichiro went down for a month with a hamstring, and then I lost Felix Hernandez for the year in mid-August with a broken hand off a line drive. Dustin Ackley, Franklin Gutierrez and Greg Halman all spent time on the DL in the 2nd half as well.
King Felix was having a strong year, although the lack of run support left him with a record of 13-11. He was leading the league in ERA, strikeouts, WHIP, innings pitched and runs allowed at the time of the injury. Michael Pineda also was a bright spot, despite the 11-16 record. He finished with a 3.22 ERA and pitched over 200 innings.
Offensively, not much to write home about. Chone Figgins was a beast in the first half but had a horrible second half and was eventually waived and traded out of town late in the year. Justin Smoak led the team with a .306 average, 28 home runs and 86 RBIs. Gutierrez drove in 82 runs and Jack Cust smacked 21 home runs as a part-time DH (didn't bat much against lefties). Osvaldo Martinez, acquired from Florida, finished with 10 homers and was a nice spark in the bleak second half.
As I move into Year 2, I'm feeling pretty good about the foundation of the team. My starting pitching staff is set (I'll list it in a bit), and I feel like most of my position players are in place and the bullpen is only 1-2 moves away from being the best in the league.
Here's what my rotation will look like in Year 2:
1. Felix Hernandez
2. Jhoulys Chacin
3. Michael Pineda
4. James Shields
5. Doug Fister
Position players that will be in the starting lineup in Year 2:
RF: Ichiro
CF: Gutierrez
LF: Michael Saunders
1B: Justin Smoak
2B: Dustin Ackley
SS: Osvaldo Martinez
3B: Zach Cox (not 100% on this one)
So, I will be looking for a 3B if there is one on the market, and also a Catcher. Josh Bard did well after taking over the starting job from Miguel Olivo, but I'd like to get younger and find someone with a little more pop in his bat.
The bullpen, as I mentioned before, was really good this year. David Aardsma had 36 saves, while setup men Manny Delcarmen and Brandon League put up very solid stats. The middle relief was good, but I could use a quality left-handed arm.
For those wondering, the Los Angeles Dodgers won the World Series in 6 games over the Detroit Tigers.Currently Playing:

I would highly recommend Jason Kubel. He's not hard to get and he transformed my Mariners team. Hard to believe one player could do that but he did. Was just amazing. Anyway, good luck in the offseason.EPL - Arsenal
