Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Nemesis,
I d/l your sliders last night and the offense for the cpu picked up. Plus I'm getting 3-4 walks per game.
The only problem is that for both the CPU and I, most hits are singles. Very few hard hit balls.
Plus I noticed that my infielders are extremly slow to the ball and that has helped the offense for the CPU.
Both game are played where great. Like I said, my only complaint is that they where to many singles by both teams.
HR where fine. I hit 1 in the 1st game and 2 in the next. The CPU hit 1 in both.Comment

How are you with your left stick aiming? If you are going to use the lower human offense settings which are in the download, you will see a lot more singles if your left stick aiming is not spot on. Once you get comfortable with it you will yield some beautiful hit variety with it. The lower setting takes some time to yield the extra bas hits.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Just like in real life when I played ball, I almost always uppercut swing unless the pitch is high.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Another quick point, it is important to generate a hitter's count. There you will find your best pitches to drive for extra base hits! The cpu pitchers like to throw down in the zone and if you keep swinging at it they will keep throwing it.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
One thing also I've experienced with and makes it really challenging is, turn off the pitch ball marker completely. The CPU will punish you more and it's difficult to locate the corners. Been having a blast with it using my slider set, just a suggestion guys.Highheat's O's Franchise

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Thanks for the suggestion. I have a Dualshock3 so there is still some sort of barometer to judge if I am in the zone or not. But, it takes much more skill to place the pitch where you want it with the ballmarker off.Last edited by LingeringRegime; 03-16-2008, 01:44 PM.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Nemesis,
I have tried your most recent updated sliders and finally HOF didn't feel weird to me. But there are a couple of issues I had that I need help with, if you don't mind.
1) I was playing as the Reds against the Yanks in NY. Edwin Encarnacion pulled an inside fastball down the left field line, it was a good shot but wasn't the hardest hit that I had seen before in this game. It rolls all the way to the wall, bounces off then the left fielder picks it up and fires it to second. The 2nd baseman caught the ball and Encarnacion still had to take 3 whole steps and then his dive to be a dead duck. I understand your reasoning to up the arm strength for the CPU, but Encarnacion is not that slow and should have easily been in for a double. I preloaded him going for two half way to first base so I know he made the turn on time and correctly. Anything I can do to make that realistic and to keep the outfielders from using the cutoff everytime?
2) I have been playing All Star level for a while now so I assume that has something to do with the lack of solid contact I am making (I believe there are less zones???). I am using "Set 1" for hitting on your sliders so I assume I should move up to "set 2"? I am getting the right amount of hits, but my left stick aiming must not be as good as I am not getting any extra base hits. In 2 games against the Yanks (vs Petite in both) I managed about 15 hits but only 1 was a HR. No other extra base hits (although I firmly believe that the Encarnacion hit should have been a double). Should I just move up to set 2, or does it sound like I just need to get my aiming better in HOF? (NOTE: I am going to try another game against a less dominant pitcher and see if that has anything to do with the lack of hard hits/extra base hits)
3) Lastly, the CPU is anemic for me. I pitched 2 games in a row with Arroyo against the Yanks and in both games I had given up either 1 hit or 2 hits by the 7th inning. Lost the first game 1-0 and won the 2nd game 3-0 (on a Dunn homer in the 11th). What should I start to raise first to get the CPU to hit better?
Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I saw where you told someone else to go to set 2 to get more production and where you told someone with too much production to drop to set 1, so I am going to try set 2 and see what happens. Also I have pitch speed at -3 because 0 is too fast (I was playing with -5 on AllStar) so I tried -3 and that seems to still be fast for me, but if I concentrate hard enough then I can turn on that fastball. Just not as often as I like but I feel like I will eventually get the timing right. But do you think that is affecting any extra base hits?
Thanks again for everything.Last edited by PhantomPain; 03-16-2008, 03:27 PM.#WeAreUKComment

Phantom....this can be taken care of with the OF reaction edits(and will be in my rosters).....but the baserunning speed slider should also alleviate the problem.....is it happening regularly with you?...or was it a bang-bang play?
As you know...the +5 of the Arm Strength was to get the OF to throw directly to the base and home plate.....this should be something easy to balance out.

WOW, I just played a game with nemesis sliders, I will say this first, great job buddy, also the game seem to play so much better, everything hitting coaches decisions, to bunting from the AI and the AI stealing, also I have see so many more different types of hits sprayed all over, HOF may be the real place to play this year.N.Y Mets
