You are saying, no, lower the CPU Strike Percentage slider, but the Pitch Control slider is backwards, and I should RAISE the slider to get more balls.

Could you talk a bit about how you came to the -4 settings for both of these? Are you seeing realistic CPU pitch counts with these?

So, if I understand correctly, you are saying I will see the most balls thrown by the CPU if I put CPU Pitch Control at +10, and CPU Strike Percentage at -10.

    Correct?

Pitch control in the latest set is at +5. I do not feel that it has to be at +10 to see its effect. You are actually lower their rating by increasing the slider. I do not see the strike % as being backwards so I am not changing to the + side of default.

You can increase the pitch movement to make pitches miss out of the zone but that will increase the challenge with human hitting. I currently have movement at +6 for the cpu.

yeh i know what u mean
          yesterday i played a game with +10 movment +10 control -10 agression..
the CPU pithcers were just nasty!
i think i struk out almost 15 times...the CPU would aways put me down with filty breaking stuff that would end up in the dirt or with a wicked back door slider/curve ball...i was like WTF...im facing roger clemens , pedro martinez on their prime every AB.

do u think that if i increase my plate vision slider it would evan out with a maxed CPU pitch movment? making me have more contact with those "unhitable" pitches for balls weakly hit for outs?

After about 20 games I'm averaging nearly 14 hits per game and only 2 extra base hits per game. Any ideas on how to get my hits down but extra base hits up?

You can up the power to default or +1 but make sure you use the left stick to aim, this is where your best results will come from.

Increasing the vision slider will increase your contact ability.

I never once use the left stick and have great success hitting doubles and triples. not a lot of homers mind you (royals). I think its more important for your timing to be perfect to get good solid contact and drive the ball.

Nemesis thanks for your work again this year. I love your sliders. I find it funny on the sports connect how after everyones sliders stay up for a while they end up with a rating in the 60 pct range unreal! Are you going to post your newest sliders on sports connect?

Wanted to give these a run on HOF before starting my season next Monday. Here are the stats. I don't think HOF is going to cut it for me this year.

                        BAL (me) 9/19/1
                        TEX (cpu) 3/7/0

Thoughts, I enjoy cpu hitting quality, power, and discipline at +6. I am going to give this a try my next game with the rest of your set. The CPU just doesn't give me that feeling if I make a mistake, I will pay. As for my hitting, I think it's the HOF mode. I don't nearly have that sort of success on All-Star, but it is just one game, so I'll give it another go.

At some point I may but I might adjust a few more things. Thanks for trying them out.

It seems odd to me that with vision, power and hit quality all below default that you are able to pound out 19 hits especially with Baltimore!

Nem… Do you think the new roster update has something to do with HIGHHEATSKINGSB’s inflated hit totals?

I played 30 franchise games @ SCEA’s request (with your OLD slider set) to see if the stats averaged out a bit over 20 (+) games. And, they did! My team was a bit behind the leaders in many offensive categories. But, not unrealistic by any means…

After downloading the 04/07/08 roster set last night, I played 3 (exhibition) games with your newest & seeming harder slider set. I banged out 19 hits (as Tor) @ NYA & hit 5 HR’s in the 1st 2 innings? Rios, Wells, & Thomas went back-2-back-2-back at one point? Scored 11 runs by the 4th? That had NEVER happened?

Thinking I was actually making some headway. Or, thinking that MAYBE the heavily right handed Tor lineup simply hit Pettitte hard… I (as SF) hosted Atl & Tim Hudson. I then proceeded to hit 4 HR’s in the first 3 innings again? Hit 4 doubles by the 4th inning, too? Jose Castilla & Rich Aurilla went on to back-2-back in two separate innings?

Now I know that this is all entirely possible. And, I appreciate the fluctuating box scores from game to game that this title delivers. But, I went from a below average hitter -to- inflated success over night? Doubles & multi HR games (by one player) were next to impossible for ME…

Do you think, that with all the lack of double conversation going on, that the new roster set included higher extra base hit possibilities? I’ve been following these boards & your slider adjustment sticky for a while now. But, know one else has mentioned anything… COULD just be ME? Maybe, I should simply enjoy my new found success?

At any rate… Thanks for your dedication to the cause

                              -GW-
