I might try shifting the game to AS from HOF and seeing what happens. I have a feeling that the CPU really has a lot more control on their pitches on HOF (something that I also noted last year). Also from what I recall I did see a lot more gappers when I got the game and was playing on all-star. Maybe there's a reason for that...

I've strayed a bit from your sliders (I'll post mine in a second), but I figure you can help me here. These are my stats from 40 games (per game averages in brackets:

        Me
        AB: 1450 (36.25)
        R: 232 (5.8)
        H: 422 (10.55) (.291 avg)
        2B: 49 (1.23)
        3B: 4 (0.1)
        HR: 46 (1.15)
        BB: 91 (2.28)
        K: 306 (7.65)

        CPU
        AB: 1482 (36.8)
        R: 219 (5.48)
        H: 420 (10.5) (.283 avg)
        2B: 56 (1.4)
        3B: 12 (0.3)
        HR: 51 (1.28)
        BB: 131 (3.28)
        K: 229 (5.73)

If you ask me, the CPU numbers look awesome. However, there are a few things I need to point out here.

I've been using Knight's beta rosters. I did some attribute editing on my own, which involved cutting every player's fielding reaction time in half, cutting every pitcher's BB/9 in half, and every pitcher's individual pitch control in half.

Therefore, it baffles me why I can't draw any walks. And I try to draw walks. Not in terms of just putting down the controller, but like taking pitches, working up pitch counts, etc. The main problem is a complete lack of 4 or 5 pitch walks. As a pitcher, I give them out constantly. As a hitter, I probably draw one a game, and I need to work my *** off and foul a bunch of 3-2 pitches to get the other one. Currently I have pitcher agressiveness at +3 (which is why I'm drawing the one five pitch walk), pitch control at default, pitch movement at +10, and strike percentage at -2, along with a +5 pitch count slider. Do you see anything glaring there.
Pitcher Aggressiveness has to be in the negative, I am convinced!

        Try these:
        Pitcher Aggressiveness: -10
        Pitch control: +5
        Strike %: -2
        Pitch movement: +6

As well, while my doubles numbers look OK, they aren't. In those 40 games, I hit exactly 7 balls into the gap. The majority of my doubles are when the CPU tries to hit the cutoff man with a runner on base and I just keep running into second and get credit for a double. Could this be because I'm zeroing out my vision and hit quality (right now I got -10 for hit quality and vision, +1 for power and -2 for timing window). Its also a problem for the CPU (0 hit quality, +2 power, +10 plate discipline, -1 timing window). Both of us get our fair share of hits, but not enough XBH. I'm wondering if you've seen anything that dramatically changes that.

Other than the hitting model, I've been using what you have for fielding/baserunning etc and it works very well. Once I can figure out these two problems, I think this game will be perfect.
For you I would up your vision to at least -6, especially since you edited it also. Bring the hit quality up to -8, leave your power and timing window for now. see what that does.

For the cpu, their hit quality needs to be above default and the power needs to be a little higher. Plate discipline seems too high, i know you want them to be patient but at default they take way too many pitches. The timing window for the cpu does not work for them so leave it at default.

Overall your stats look good. You are only off about a walk a game and up on your strikeouts slightly. I am sure some of those k's were ball 4's sometimes.

          Hey Nasa!

We had some good conversations over the 07 version! Thanks for sticking with them. I am MUCH more comfortable with this latest set than the first set. It takes a lot of games to get things in balance.

Look forward to talking with you soon!

LOL, I have been a terrible father/husband lately because I am HOOKED on this game with these GREAT sliders. I'm like a junkie, getting up early and staying up late to play this game! Haven't felt this way about a game since High Heat Baseball and the first Metal Gear Solid on the PS1.

                  Nemesis,

These sliders are outstanding. One thing I really like about them over some of the other sliders out there is that if I make good pitch decisions and think about what I am doing, I can still get the batter to strike out looking. But, if I make a terrible mistake and say hang a slider right down the middle of the plate, unlike default and a lot of other sliders, I really pay for it. It makes you concentrate more when you pitch.

One thing I had to do for myself was raise the Plate vision slider to default (for now at least until I get my pitch judgement down). I felt that by doing so I was able to check my swing easier on bad pitches, and not strike out so much. Do you believe this to be true, or is it just coincidence and placebo affect?

The hit tallys are still coming out great for me, its just that i feel like I can think about the pitch coming at me more and be able to check my swing, and also reach more pitches just a little out of the zone to foul them off sometimes, therefore I'm not striking out as much (the latter I saw you mention a few posts above).

Once again, great sliders, definitely the best ones I have tried, and I appreciate the work you put into these.

                      Glad you are enjoying them!

As far as being able to check swing better, that could be a byproduct of adjusting the vision slider. If you increase the players ability it may allow them to hold up better. It definitely could be possible.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

Nemesis, I appreciate the effort you've put into testing these sliders as I just don't have the time to do proper testing myself. I am using your latest set, with a few subtle changes and a couple major ones.

I put pitch speed down to -10, because I felt although I was getting plenty of hits, I had a hard time judging balls and strikes and getting walks. To compensate for the lower pitch speed, I also moved my timing window slider to -10.

I know the devs said pitch speed does not affect gameplay, but I am 99% certain that lowering pitch speed affects the speed of the ball coming off the bat, so I have just raised power for both me and the cpu 2 clicks up from your original sliders. I have some testing do with my most recent settings.

Based on your understanding of the sliders, do you have any suggestions or thoughts on any other adjustments that should be made to jive with my dramatic decrease in pitch speed? Also, will you be using Knight's attribute edited rosters and making sliders for them? Again, thanks for the work you put into this game.

I really can't think of anything else you would have to adjust. In theory you are adjusting a visual effect so it really should not put things out of whack.

With regards to Knight's roster, I am hoping that they work without major tweaking. If anything they should be pretty close. Here is to hoping!

Thanks for giving these a test run!
