Nothing like a good blowout before the day is over. I like these a lot...I've had 4 games that were very different. 4-2 loss, 8-7 win, 9-4 loss, 6-1 win, and then this good one.

I hit four doubles, three in the gap. I'm pleased.

I take it you're still using the OF speed sliders (-3). I will give this a shot tonight and see how things are affected.

Just tried my first game with these, Nem, and they're good. I lost the first game in my A's 'chise 3-0. I had 5 hits, 2 of them for doubles, and I just missed a HR with Crosby on a hanging curve. The CPU had 8 hits and drew 2 walks from me. It felt like a really realistic game. The pitch counts were great, and if I could just check swing a little better, I would have probably drawn a couple of walks myself and given myself a better chance to score.

The only thing I found challenging was making consistent contact. Beckett was dealing, and he struck me out 13 times. I definitely chased some bad pitches, and I had a helluva time catching up to the high and tight heater that was clocking between 95 and 98. I think getting used to the pitch speed will take a while, but I kindof like how hard good heat is to deal with at +2, especially if it's well located.

Is the latest set posted on Sportsconnect? I downloaded the most recent set on there last night but I'm not sure if it's Nemesis' latest. Thanks.

No, the latest set is not on Sportsconnect. They're just a few pages back in this thread.

Popping the cherry. Long time lurker but it's time to give voice.

First a huge thanks to Nem for all his work on these. I've been in AS vs. HOF hell since the day the game came out but this new set has given me a lot of hope that i can stay on HOF(granted only a couple games in) but here is my question. With Nem's first set i played about 10 games and in those 10 i would say 5 or 6 included a CPU outburst that felt almost forced and scripted. All of a sudden the bats explode and i can't get anyone out. Last night with the new ones it happened again. With Dice-K grooving (a no-no through 5) three jacks in the sixth, a couple singles, a triple and boom i'm down 6 runs. The rest of the game the CPU is dormant. Trust me, i don't want to make any judgements after two games (twelve if you include the previous set), more just curious as to whether those of you much further along have seen anything like this on a consistent basis. I realize rallies are part of the game so i'm not questioning them happening, just want to be sure it's not something that feels forced to make the game more difficult on HOF. Hope this makes sense.

Also i'm using the slider set as posted with all pitching aids (including API) off.

I think Nem wants avoid clutter on Sportsconnect as far as his sliders go.

Have you tried lowing the CPU OF speed yet?? I think I may be one seeing things here as well.

I've gotten blasted on AS a couple of times in the way you described, and I've had it happen on HOF. I've just started using Nem's sliders, and I lost 3-0 to the BoSox, but I felt like everything that happened was legit. I think there are going to be games where you just get shelled, and sometimes, at least in my experience, the big innings I've suffered through could have been prevented by a mound visit, better bullpen management, pitch selection, etc. I was able to get Manny to strike out twice and Papi to hit weak dribblers on curveballs twice, so I don't feel like I'm destined to get screwed by big hitters--or at least not yet. I'll keep my eyes out for this, though, since I just started using this set, and let you know if I see this happening.

If it makes you feel any better, I've been struggling with which level to play on as well. Nem's set makes HOF feel just about right. I can tell that most games are going to be a challenge to win, but that's ultimately what I want.

Good of you to bring this up.

Oh, and p.s. (someone is procrastinating like a mofo at work today): I love that I can get the CPU to swing at a high FB with these sliders--I haven't been able to get them to chase that pitch with any other set. It feels great.

now thtas good news if confirmed..
i dunno becasue ive aways had this at -10 from day 1

but evan if works, it only has a very subtle effect

I've been switching between -3,-5 and -10 with the OF run slider. with -10 I really couldn't see the slow down, but with -5 and -3 I saw it. Not sure why that would be, I'm sure -10 has to work if -5 and -3 work.
