Actually they do. I must tell you, I am not a fan of adjusting sliders, but after trying your set out, there was just a difference in the game. Not really sure how to explain it, but the ebb and flow of the game felt different.

I don't know about anyone else, but for a gjy who rarely, rarely, altered sliders, you have me convinced that these are the way to go.

API is the artificial pitching intelligence where the catcher calls for the type and location of pitches to be thrown. I do not use it, I believe on HOF you have to call it up by pressing R2.

I did a couple minor tweaks: I changed HUMAN POWER from -1 to default and lowered PITCH SPEED a little (couldn't recognize pitches too well), but kept everything else the same. I did this after scoring a total of 3 runs in 3 games against the Blue Jays (W1-0, L4-0, L3-2) and simply being frustrated . These sliders rule...I just suck .

Anyway, the result: Beat the Rays 5-4 and hit 3 HRs in the game (granted, it was Edwin Jackson and the Rays bullpen; if I continue to hit 3 bombs a game, I will go back to -1 POWER).

Here's the quirky thing (may be a game glitch)...A-Rod hit a walk-off, 3-run HR in the Bot of 9th so I should have won 7-4. However, the camera showed him stopping at 1st base in celebration, instead of rounding the bases and getting mobbed by his teammates at home (I'm still waiting to see this cutscene on the game). As a result, the game scored it a GW RBI single, not a HR . Dave Campbell even called it a "base hit" in the Play of the Game replay. A-Rod (who hit a 2-run HR earlier in the game) was given 1 HR and 3 RBI for the game, instead of 2 HR's and 5 RBI. The final score was 5-4, not 7-4.

Shades of Robin Ventura in the NLCS!
Yeah, there is a walk-off home run glitch where only the winning run gets counted.

If you keep hitting all those bombs, bring the power back down.

thank you so much for these sliders. these have saved this game for me... before i tried these sliders i just couldnt lose a game no matter what i did. i've played about 30 games into a season with these and am 17-13 with the toronto blue jays. i'm middle of the pack in all offensive categories and in the top 5-10 in most pitching categories which is just about right for toronto's team this year.

so thanks again, great work with these.

Thanks. I have mine set at default in all star which according to the game and manual states should be off for all star (API that is) and my catcher still calls for pitches. Does it affect how the CPU pitches at all?

What is the noise that you hear when you play with Guess Pitch Off. It sounds like when you choose your location with guess pitch on. Is the human player choosing a location for you if you don't have guess pitch on? I hope not.

I went back to Guess pitch on, no feedback, and hardly ever guess a pitch or location, and I definitely think getting feedback is too much of an advantage.

I agree. These sliders are awesome. Lots of variety from game to game. I am currently using them on all star (and they work great for me)until I get better at using the left stick for zone hitting.

Hey guys, do you know if the sliders affect the simmed stats of the other teams in the season/franchise-mode?
The .AVG, 2B, HR stats are pretty high.
I have 82 hits so far, 15 x-tra basehits, cpu-teams have similar hits (between 80-100), but much more doubles, triples and homeruns.

using these sliders my simmed stats are much lower than these. it could just be luck of the draw though. the hr total is a little high in my franchise but im willing to accept that considering i'm actually enjoying the game.

I'm only seeing balls hit over OF's heads now

Also I'd like to note that SCEA nailed Abreu's "hold up the glove when the ball is 15 feet over his head" animation. It was impressive to see.

you know theaub, I played 2 games with the OF speed slider down 5 clicks from default(-5) with nothing else adjusted and now I am seeing things.

Nothing like a good blowout before the day is over. I like these a lot...I've had 4 games that were very different. 4-2 loss, 8-7 win, 9-4 loss, 6-1 win, and then this good one.

                            BOS: 001 000 101 3 10 1
                            TOR: 540 200 02X 13 16 0

I hit four doubles, three in the gap. I'm pleased.

Still testing these, and everything looks fantastic.

My only lingering problem is too many hits in general.

The extra base hit to single ratio is fine, it's just that I get nearly 10 hits a game no matter what, and I've played with them for a great deal of time.

Nem, how do you suggest lowering OVERALL HITS?

That may be my only complaint so far with these. I played 4 or 5 games yesterday and the cpu never scored more than 4 runs. I lost them all but that just seemed rather odd.
