i'm getting too much offensive production (singles mainly) with these as a base set. i've gone back and forth between all star and hof. my timing window is about default and hit quality is at 0 and power is about +5 (but i dont get too many hr's)...any idea on how i can do something else...maybe to make the comp pitching harder?

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
What was getting me errors-wise was balls going right through IF's legs in a way that didn't look natural. My experience might have been an anomaly. Other than that, I really like the set. I agree with the poster above about the CPU arm strength slider. At +5 I've been gunned out by strong-armed RFs a couple of times, and man does that add drama to the game. You really feel the risk-reward factor of trying to take the extra base when you know they're going to actually be gunning for you.
Great work on the whole.
Incidentally, do you have any input, Nem, on the discussion going on currently about drawing more walks in the main forum? There's an interesting counter-theory going on there about the relationship between aggressiveness and control that might be worth looking into.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
You have to take components away from the hitter to make hitting more difficult. Vision, the timing window, HQ and power are going to affect this the most.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

I do not really see it as a viable option to lowering hits. Maybe at first you would strike out more but the speed is just a timing aspect that eventually you would get used to.

Vision (Also, the HQ slider has to be in close proximity to vision.) Basically, I determine where I want vision to be first and drop HQ two notches below it. Then I would go to the timing window and would not have it any higher than -5.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Sure, man. Here's the link: http://www.operationsports.com/forum...ls-please.html. Let me know what you think. Your set is the best overall, no doubt, but since you work on these slider issues so much, I'd be curious to hear your response to this discussion.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
with power, i'm still not seeing too many home runs...just about right actually. should i still lower it?
i'm guessing my plate vision is set at whatever your set's default is...dont think i've changed that one.
also, with the timing window...what exactly does it do. all i know is with it all the way down, i never pulled anything and that got annoying.
i do use the left stick.
2 things i'm going to try is raising pitch speed and lowering the plate vision slider. what is your advice as far as hit quality and power? thanks.Last edited by brettryantalley; 04-30-2008, 10:03 PM.Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Nem,
Quick question for ya, Are the sliders set for a user who uses the Power swing?
I don't ever touch the power swing and feel like my hard hit balls are at most warning track power. Should I just bump up my Power 1 or 2 clicks, if I'm lacking the Hr's?Seattle Pilots GM (2011 - ) Record: 152 - 195

I never use the power swing. Just bump up the power to default if you are having trouble with hr's.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
you can have hit quality too low? i just figured the lower it was, the harder it would be to get hits.

Vision needs to follow HQ. If you want to stay at -10, then your vision needs to be at -8.
The timing window adjusts the amount of time from point A to point B where contact can be made with the bat. Think of it as an accordion where it stretches and contracts. Obviously, certain timing window settings affect how hit balls track in the field. The slider effect is very subtle.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment
