Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

Thanks, I'll give that shot. It's just getting a little frustrating to keep getting 10-13 hits a game with 9-11 singles. Hope upping HQ will work put.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

These sliders were awesome, with one minor change for me. Maybe i suck, maybe it was a few bad games, but my K to BB ratio was 1 to 6........seriously. With Kazmir, Beckett, and Verlander (exhibition games). I couldnt do anything right. So i upped Pitch command for me, pretty heavily (From - 10 to 0). After that i had a 3 to 2 ratio. Not too bad. Started my franchise and in game one (Rays vs Orioles) had 6 K's with Kaz and 3 BB. Not too bad, wouldve liked more K's but that was in 6.2 IP. I ended up losing when Dohmann came in and gave up a HR and Percival blew the save in the bottom of the 9th. Lost 4-3. 7 hits for me, 8 hits for them, i struck out 8 times, and got on base with 2 or 3 walks (cant rememebr). That sounds like a pretty good stat line to me. No HR's for either team, but i had 2 DB's. CPU had no XB hits though but its only been a short time.

I will admit, i was skeptical to move alot of these sliders that far away from default, but shows how much i know.

Maybe if I lower the plate discipline for the CPU?

Also, I am definitely not the only one having this issue so I know it isn't just me losing my lack of skills
You can lower it it even more but you have to be aware that you could be sacrificing your pitch counts.

Sliders are on p.57, Nemesis if I may suggest, put a link in your sig. I too had a tough time finding them, but boy am I happy I did. These were really similar to what I was playing with but you have improved on them quite nicely. Great job, this game is truely amazing

Hey Aub, can you post exactly what edits to Nemesis' sliders you are using..I am using your edits to Knights roster and am just curious to what you may have changed?

                Nem,

Still loving these, but I have a question for you. I'm striking out about 11 times per game on offense (guess pitch off). I'm working on my plate discipline, which is admittedly something of a work in progress, but I am wondering what recommendations you might have that could help lower Ks without necessarily upping my hits per game, which are good where they're at (I got 1-hit by Oswalt yesterday--loved it!).

                Any suggestions? Thanks!

Thanks Nem, I will try it out and see if I can make it work.

Thanks for reminding me to put the link in the sig! I had them there last year and forgot to do it for this year.

                    Thanks for trying them!

You can move the vision slider back 1 click closer to default and you can bring back the foul tip slider 2 to 3 clicks towards default. Ultimately working on your plate discipline and working your way towards a hitter's count is the best remedy.

Thanks, Nem. I'll give that adjustment a shot and work on plate discipline in the mean time. I'm getting better, but it's a work in progress. I think it's still too hard to tell a breaking pitch from a fastball in enough time to know whether it's going to be just in or just out of the zone in this year's game, but that may just be because I'm getting older . This adjustment sounds relatively minor, so hopefully it will help me lower the Ks without upping the offense a ton. Great sliders--thanks for the good work and for continuing to help out!

I just played the first two games of my Cubs season.

Game 1 I lost 8-3 in the 11th inning. Very good game throughout. I was losing 3-2 in the 9th until Soriano hit a game tying homer in the 9th. About 11-13 hits each.

Game 2 I won in the bottom of the ninth 2-1. It was a pitchers duel. 6 hits for me 5 for the Brewers.

However, I've only had 1 homer, 2 doubles and 2 walks in both games. I'd like to get more walks and increase my power a bit since I've been getting mainly singles. Or maybe because it's only 2 games I should give it some time.

I'm on Game 6 of my O's franchise right now. I'm 4-1, I have 6 homers and 3 doubles, only one being a gapper. The rest are singles. I love the game variety, as like you said, I've had games where each team gets over 10 hits and games under 10 hits. I just wish I would hit more balls into the gap, but the sliders are so great that I'll take the pros with the cons when it comes to them.

I like that each person has a variety of stats, for me, I hit a LOT of gappers, but very few homers to this point in the season (roughly 10 games).
