I think there are going to be games where you just get shelled, and sometimes, at least in my experience, the big innings I've suffered through could have been prevented by a mound visit, better bullpen management, pitch selection, etc. I was able to get Manny to strike out twice and Papi to hit weak dribblers on curveballs twice, so I don't feel like I'm destined to get screwed by big hitters--or at least not yet. I'll keep my eyes out for this, though, since I just started using this set, and let you know if I see this happening.

If it makes you feel any better, I've been struggling with which level to play on as well. Nem's set makes HOF feel just about right. I can tell that most games are going to be a challenge to win, but that's ultimately what I want.

Good of you to bring this up.
This set definitely puts the challenge back into HOF. I do understand what you are saying about the scripted games from time to time. I think this is a under the hood type problem, unfortunately!

I just lost my second game to the BoSox in pretty crummy style, but I really can't complain. I was leading 4-2 after 7, but in the 8th, my relief fell apart and they tied the game. The game went into the 10th, and with a runner on, Manny went yard to give Boston the win. I definitely felt like I should have won that game, but I was playing the Sox, after all, and Manny has done that a time or two in his career, so I don't really feel cheated or like the outcome was scripted.

It is beat that you lost but that game you had was classic bullpen meltdown, that has happened a few times in the real MLB already this season.

Post 484 is the most recent. I do not know how they play on the psp, I did not get that version this year.

theaub, I am still convinced that OF slider works. IF slider, not so much now. But it never needed to be adjusted to begin with in my opinion

I have OF speed at -3, and IF throw speed at +1. Dunno if that works, and its not a big deal if it doesn't.

Oh yeah, it totally felt organic. Harden was pitching very well, but per usual, his control wasn't as on as it could have been, and he only went 5 1/3, which forced me to lean on the bullpen more than I'd like to have--and it didn't work out. That's what I love about this game--even the losses are good.

never thought about throw speed. After playing a game against the A's, I convinced that the OF slider works. I had two balls go over their CF's head and hop against the wall. I also had their LF make a leap catch against the wall to rob Pujols of a double.

mine is set at -5 and I think it needs adjusting so that hard liners in the gap aren't cutoff and it gives your speedy guys a chance at a triple and for your average guys it becomes a stand up double and not a play at second. Hope that made sense.

Also since lowering the slider, I have noticed balls being hit over OF heads, for both me and the cpu.

I think I'm going to try -5 tomorrow (for now its the Calgary game lol). Is there a slider to increase CPU strikeouts?
