Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

I am bringing the Pitcher Aggressiveness back to -10 again. It just needs to be there! I still do not understand these explosive outbursts. There is definitely a difference between the new roster date and the last one. We basically stripped the human player to nothing but yet the hits can be high at times.

Hey Nemesis, i have been dominating in my season so i decided to give your sliders i try. I downloaded them from sports connect so im not sure if you have made any changes but they played great. Obviously i cannot make a final judgement and full asessment off of one game but i enjoyed them. I win 6-2 but could have been a lot closer. The computer stranded runers on 2nd and 3rd in both the first and second innings. It was 4-2 but i hit a 2 run HR in the 9th. I liked how i didnt just mow down the CPU they had 11 hits which is good, i used to almost throw no hitters a lot with the previous set i was using. I will continue to test these out but so far so good.

Thanks for trying them! The latest adjustments I made are one post up from yours. Let me know how it goes.

Those are the number of clicks left or right from default.

Well your final set isnt exactly the same as mine, but as I told you after I started with your original set and tweaked them, I would be curious to see your updated set. Basically just the CPU plate disipline would be the only slider that is completely different. All of the others are no more than a click or two different. I have been playing 50+ with the same sliders( NO TWEAKING) and getting newspaper stats. Thanks again for all your help from the beginning.

Note: That doggone Throwing Error Frequency Slider still resets to default everytime I shut the machine off. I have tried deleting the saved sliders starting all over, and it still resets. I have to manually bump it a notch every game for me and the cpu. I just cant believe that when I save the season when I'm done playing a game it will NOT recognize that slider.

Nemesis, do you use Guess Pitch on these sliders?

                  If yes, which one?

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

Hey Nemesis, are your sliders operating under the assumptions/findings by some people that some sliders are backwards, such as CPU pitch control, CPU fielder reaction time, and CPU strike %?

Oh...I'm going to start a new season tonight with your newest sliders and see how it goes. So far, your original set are my favorite. Once Knight & Jim release their rosters, I hope to be settled on a slider set.

I'm thankful for you guys in this forum who have the time to test, test, test and come up with good sliders. That used to be me, but with a crazy job schedule (12-hour graveyard shifts) and kids and everything I don't have the time to be able to devote to it. I'm just thankful there's a "save game" feature this year so maybe I can get through 162 games!

One more question: what view do you pitch from? I pitch from "Pitcher" view with the ball marker OFF, but I think if I try "Outfield" view that may actually create more walks given up by me (because it's farther away making "spots" in the zone harder to pinpoint). Seems like no matter what I do, I still don't give up enough walks.

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)

Im playing on your intial set and having a hard time of it... one thing im finding though is that when im able to get cpu pitchers deep into games i can pretty much gaurenttee that i can get their pitch counts for games near and or way over 100 pitches per game.

wakefield 117 pitches - five innings

                      a.j. burnett 129 pitches - 7.1 innings

and their have been others i think i got beckett over 100 as well. not that im complaining at all cause that isnt the cause im loving it. if any of you are wondering how im able to do this it is simple... i use guess pitch. 1/6 guess only low center zone and select 4-seam fastballs. so any ball that doesnt show as bieng in that area (ball icon) i dont swing. unless of course i have two strikes on me and then i just start pressing and swinging at nearly anything that is close lol. (have to work on that)

but over all nem, im enjoying set one, could you telll me what differences you made and how they would affect game diff than set one on the newest one?

I play with the Cubs and for exmaple with zambrano im max i can get it 4 and almost always i get 3-2 counts because if a picht in the zone(not in the middle of the zone of course) they always make contact

Played a game with the newest set of sliders (the one with CPU PITCHER AGGRESSION at -10):

                          Blue Jays (Halladay)
                          at Yankees (Wang)

                          TOR 0 / 5 / 0
                          NYY 1 / 6 / 0

                          Team stats:
                          TOR: 5-for-31 (.161), 1 2B, 0 3B, 0 HR, 0 BB, 2 K
                          NYY: 6-for-29 (.207), 1 2B, 0 3B, 0 HR, 1 BB, 7 K

                          2B: Rios (Tor), Matsui (NYY)

                          Pitching:
                          Wang: 8 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K (92 pitches, 79% K)
                          Rivera: 1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 0 K

                          Halladay: 6 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 5 K (74 pitches, 74% K)
                          Tallet: 2 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 2 K

Not a very exciting game. My lone run came on a fielder's choice. It was a classic pitchers' duel. Toronto had 4 hits through 4, so I held them to 1 hit for the last 5 innings. Realistic pitch counts for a game with no walks and low strikeouts (my only walk was intentional). The double I got was a gapper by Matsui. The Blue Jays had a couple of deep flyouts to the warning track. This was a very different game than the 12-10 game I played with similar sliders but with CPU PITCHER AGRESSION at +2.

I did tweak one slider. After 3 innings, Halladay's strike pct. was at 79%. Since it was discovered that (possibly) the STRIKE % slider is backwards (and I'm not sure if Nemesis accounts for that), I switched it from -2 to +2, just to see if it made a difference. He finished with a 74% strike pct., albeit he was throwing more balls in the later innings as he was tiring. Still not a lot of walks, but a lot of that is on me, as there were a fair amount of pitches thrown out of the zone that I swung at. I didn't expect a lot of walks from Halladay and Wang, anyway.

Nemesis, is that correct that relief pitcher fatigue is now -3 and not +3 ? Also is it necessary to use +2 pitch speed in order to help with the stolen bases, or does it not matter. Lastly, I play on All-star, do you recommend any changes to your sliders for All-Star in particular? They have played very well on All-Star for my skill level. +2 pitch speed would probably be too fast for me, so if it is not necessary to help the CPU throw out my baserunners while stealing, I will set it back to 0. Thanks.

just played a second game with the slider i downloaded it was a real good game, nail biter to the end.

                              Phillies (CPU) 4 - 11 - 1
                              SD (me) 3 - 11 - 0

Bottom of the 9th, got a double with 1 out, Gordon threw a wild pitch which advanced the runner to third, then struck out and grounded out stranding him at 3rd.

                                Nemesis,

You updated recently to incorporate the latest roster update. If I'm using these sliders in a franchise, using a roster from about a month ago, do I need to make your latest changes?
