Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
ok never thought of that one, yeah its seems to be on by default with the ball marker, i do play with ball marker on fade myself just for the sake of aiming on outside edges to have the cpu draw more walks.Comment

So Nem i noticed that brian suggested some changes to sliders... ummmm have you made any changes since posting them on line that we should know about?"Baseball is life, without Baseball life itself ceases to exist." - Ken SpragueComment

I have made some significant changes after a few conversations with Brian but I am not ready to post anything. They need to be test driven for a while.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Hey Nem...just wanted to say I ran across this forum using Google and have joined to say thanks for posting your sliders and I am excited to try them out tonight.
My last game I played (on default HOF sliders) was Yankees (me) vs. Orioles. Mike Mussina took a 2-hit shutout into the 8th inning before finally being tagged for a 2-run HR. Mussina should not be shutting out anyone on this game!!! Especially on HOF mode. All my pitchers are dominant when they shouldn't be. Pettitte is striking out 10 a game! I do enjoy getting my *** kicked once in a while!
I think your sliders will work nicely for me because we seem to be having identical issues involving gameplay. Not enough walks, too many singles, CPU runners staying at 1st after hitting one to the wall, CPU batters taking meatballs down the middle for strikes, etc. Honestly, I thought this was just me (or that I was the greatest video game pitcher ever). After 10-or-so games on an "experimental" season (HOF default sliders), my team ERA stays around 2.00 and my team batting average stays below .250. All my games are 2-1, 3-2, 1-0, etc., with a couple of 7-2 games thrown in. I would tweak sliders here and there but with no real success. I see you take the time to adjust everything accordingly, and from the sounds of it I should start playing fun, realistic games again.
If I have the time, I will post some results. The only thing I've noticed with people's results is that the CPU is pulling their SP way too early in the game, even if they're having success. I'l try these out. Again, thanks.Comment

I am in the process of adjusting things even further to make the game even harder and having some good success. I just lost 3 games in a row!“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
A couple parts contact, a pinch of power, sauteed with a little vision, you know!
Actually, I am making it really tough for the human to hit and boosted the cpu offense even more. I actually made them a little too powerful, lol.“The saddest part of life is when someone who gave you your best memories becomes a memory”Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Lost 3 games in a row? Sounds fun! LOL
Here's what I'm looking for in sliders: if I am facing someone like Johan Santana, he should be giving me fits and I should feel fortunate to score 3 runs off him. And when I am facing a Brett Tomko, I should expect 3-5 runs off him. Same thing with pitching. My #4 and #5 starters should not be taking shutouts into the middle innings of games (at least not on a consistant basis). Currently on the default HOF sliders, pitching is waaaay too easy. Although I do struggle with hitting a little on the default settings, the +2 to power as well as the other adjustments like CPU pitch aggressiveness, control, strike %, fielder reaction, etc. should help me out. On last year's game, I played HOF with contact at -10 and power at +1 and still hit around .300 as a team. I must say I am glad they made hitting harder for this year's game. Hitting a baseball is the hardest thing to do in sports!Comment

Re: HOF Sliders (Project Nemesis MLB 08)
Here's my results from your most recent posted sliders. I was the Yankees: (Set 3 hitting sliders, classic pitching, all zones turned OFF, ball marker OFF, guess pitch ON, NO FEEDBACK)
Indians 4 4 1
Yankees 5 11 3 (10 innings)
2B: NYY- Damon, Matsui; CLE- Blake
HR: NYY- Cano
SB: NYY- Jeter; CLE- Sizemore
E: NYY- A-Rod 2 (throws), Posada (throw); CLE- Peralta (bobble)
Wang, NYY: 7 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 4 K (84 pitches, 73% strikes)
Sabathia, CLE: 6.1 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 11 K (87 pitches, 68% strikes)
This was a great game! It was scoreless going into the 6th, then the Indians took a 2-0 lead. I scored one in the bottom half, then in the 7th Cano hit a 3-1 fastball over the wall to give me a 3-2 lead. I guessed fastball and did a power swing. I don't guess that often -- only in hitter's counts like 3-1 and 2-0. The Indians strung together a 2-run, 2-out rally in the 9th against Rivera to tie it at 4, but A-Rod hit a GW single in the 10th to win it.
The game was dominated by pitching, but with both aces going it felt realistic. Wang's stats look good, but the Indians were hitting the ball hard. I struck out a lot, but C.C. is a strikeout pitcher. Once the Indians bullpen came in it was much easier for me to hit because they weren't throwing 97mph heat.
In my second game, the Indians won 4-3. I won't go into details, only that Sizemore hit a 2-out, 3-run bomb in the 9th off Rivera to take the lead. Two games, two blown saves for Mo. I think that's just coincidence and not the sliders. My 3 runs all came via solo HR's by Abreu, Matsui, and Posada (all on normal swings w/o guessing). So HR's are very possible on these sliders w/o trying.
A few notes: I liked that in my 2nd game, Rivera's energy was only about 75% after throwing 20+ pitches in the first game. After throwing a lot of pitches in the 2nd game, he will probably by unavailable for a 3rd straight appearance (realistic!). Excellent relief pitcher fatigue slider!
Did not have many walks (2 in 2 games), but there were several 3-ball counts. The pitch speed is a little fast for me, which could be partially the reason, but I'm going to give it about 5 more games before I turn it down (I was facing power pitchers).
Sabathia was relieved in the 7th inning after only throwing 87 pitches and pitching well. I think I hit a single or double off him and the manager took him out. The "manager hook" slider may be a bit too high at +5.
Great sliders so far! I am looking forward to playing more games and facing "back of the rotation" guys and see how those games go.Comment
