As for stats, I'm confused on what'd you like. What I did above, too much detail on starters or what? Like, can I see an example of what'd you'd like?
    LOL!

No man, that's perfect. I'd love for us all to break it down between starter lines and reliever lines. I just don't want you to feel like it's a job! I'm personally more interested in the starters anyway. But, the game is 9 innings, and we need to track everything.

    Here's what I'm thinking:

IP, R, H, 2B, HR, BB, K...Fouls, Misses, Strike Percentage

Alright, I'll keep doing what I'm doing then game one, coming up.
I agree with Geronimo, fielder speed should definetely be at a 4, if not a 3. Michael Morse covered ground like he was Julio Borbon last game, just a tad unrealistic.

        Run speed could come down.

My doubles are good on default with SF (probably 1.6-1.8), but could probably use a boost when I play with my Yanks. Doubles are HARD in that stadium.

Whatever you think. We could just drop run speed to 4 if you want.

Did you see any doubles in your Nats game?

Let's just start at 4, if we see too many two-baggers, we'll bump it up.
In my Nats game, I saw no doubles but that's because anything hit in the gap was cut-off or caught, LOL.
Also, would it throw off our testing if I simulated into May to develop hot/cold streaks and then played with multiple teams/players based on those streaks?

              Cool. 4 it is.

I honestly can't see how simming could hurt. I guess pitchers MAY start games with less stamina then...

I say go for it. If it sounds fun to you, do it. Hot/Cold streaks are a good thing.

Now, I'm wondering if I should do that too? Sim to May, and play random matchups. Hmm...

I could also take a few teams and play their first 5 games of the season (Maybe NYY and ATL)? Or NYY and someone...Colorado? I'm not sure. They need at least one ace. Any ideas?

Re: Classic Pitching Questions and Discussion

Whichever comes up with stats, using these sliders, can't hurt. Should be able to get a few games done tonight.

Make sure you guys are keeping a LARGE total of everything. You can post individuals at will, but we need large amounts of stats to make a decision and to tweak the sliders.
I think, at the moment, starting pitchers is where its at. I'm just going to record outings of starters and keep a long chart going on my phone and then post 3-4 at a time.

I like the idea of sim to may and playing random match ups.

Hero my only question is random game stats going to confirm the results better than a 20-30 game run with one team? Just curious before I get started.

BTW, I do feel that dropping fielders run speed a click or two, should be a consideration though.
I think you should hit...just incase you want to keep your progress.

I'm gonna start on opening day. I just probably need two teams.

If you have no intention of saving your progress, simming forward could work.

That kind of answers my question to hero. Playing random and keeping a running total is probably the way to go.

Also, can one of you guys care to post the full slider set - just to use as reference for today conversations. The sliders that don't matter can be noted as - UP "User Preference". I'll be pitching on both sides anyway.

                        Iliveforthis,

We should track pitching totals. Starter totals are interesting (so post them if you feel like it), but in order to nail this down, we need complete stats.

                        Geronimo,

I'm torn on this sim forward, or opening day thing.

I'm leaning towards taking two teams, and playing their first 10 games of the season. Jgainsey did this and it really helped him get started.

I just need to separate styles of pitching staffs.

Now that I think about it, it'll be easier to take two teams and go from there. Rather than simming forward and jumping around.
I shall take two teams and do that. Some games I'll pitch and not hit. Some games I'll do both. It shouldn't make much of a difference as I'll just be 'fast-forwarding' through the innings.

Do both then. Take one team and play all their games and then always choose a random game each day. So you will be playing two games a day. But I think simming to May would be a good way to start. I really like the idea of getting playing with the streaks in progress. Some guys are just terrible April players.
