    Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

After posting my results to my blog from the last 4 games I've played. I'll be posting all the transactions made in the league in April.

As far as the user controlled teams I have, PHI/WAS/BAL/KC, I haven't made any trades and only a minimal amount of roster moves.

For PHI - Sent Geoff Jenkins outright to AAA Lehigh for RP Dave Borkowski; placed Jenkins on the block - no offers yet .

For WAS - (As in the real MLB), signed LH RP Joe Biemel, released RH SP Odalis Perez. I've got Nick Johnson and Austin Kearns on the block, and will be trading both of them eventually.

For BAL - No moves, no one on block.

For KC - No moves yet, no one on block yet.

Out of the 4 teams, I've only played as KC and PHI. I've been wanting to play WAS and BAL games, but I've struggled so much w/ PHI that I'm currently 2.5 gms out of first and ATL and NYM are neck and neck.

Since I've been having bullpen issues, and I've played as KC a pitcher who I think could help my pen would be Juan Cruz.

Through 5 games w/ KC I used him a couple times. At one point holding CLE hitless/scoreless through 4 innings w/ him, he has nice stuff.

I'll put him on my block, and field offers from other teams but also see what I can give KC to bring him to PHI.

48-50 with the Mets now, traded for Brandon Phillips and Dice-K and that's all the moves I have made.

I am now 10-4 with the Mets. I just sent Castro down to AAA he was 1 for 10 on the season. I need to get some scoring from the computer I have let up 2 runs or less in 4 of 5 games.

            Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

Hey y'all. Life has been busy. So anyways, I re-acquired Ruiz for Salti, a trade I made earlier, because I decided I wanted Marson to come up to the bigs and grow with him. So I re-acquire Ruiz and then sent him packing to KC for some Triple AAA catcher to back up Paulino. I moved Marson up and Coste as the back up. I need to check my sliders, everything was going well until I met the Muts. They beat me 19-3. No lie, Moyer got ravaged out there. So I am using JBH's most currently sliders since everyone is high on them. I am currently 18-10 or 19-10 in my chise. I am iffy on Kendrick as 5th start, Nats have Caberera on the block. Thinking about moving Kendrick and a minor leaguer for Caberera.

I downloaded it as well and went about 8 games until boom after a 3-2 victory in 10 innings it locked up. I am only 14 games into a 104 game season I can not replay over 20 games this season. I hope this is addressed in the patch. I love this game.

                Currently 24-20 with Detroit.

Came out of the gate at 17-7, but, math, that's 7-13 since. Ouch.

I'm in second place, 4 games back of KC, and 1.5 games up of Minn. and Clev.

                About to start a 3-game set @ KC, who I'm 0-3 against.

Biggest series of the season thusfar.

                Game 1: Odalis Perez (2-1, 2.93) vs. Luke Hochevar (5-2, 3.81)

Fred Lewis put on a hitting display last game. 5/5 2 HR,2 singles and a double with 1 SB. Beat down the Dodgers 7-0. Their stadium is beautiful in the evening.

I booted Renteria and am now starting Burris. He just wasn't producing and I moved Fransden up to the #2 hitting slot as he's been getting quite a few hits. Manny hasn't produced either other than that one game. Molina has been the worst of the 3 that aren't producing.

Haven't been able to get rid of Zito. Almost got rid of him for that Japanese pitcher on the Braves but decided against it.

                        Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

Updated my blog through the Marlins series (which I lost).

                        http://www.osatwork.com/JBH3/blog/23...ranchise-blog/

I played 2 games of the following series vs WAS. Simming the final gm of the series for a sweep, and moving into May.

                        --------------------------------------------------------------

I copied down A LOT of info from around the league, which I plan to put in my blog.

It will be a snapshot of my season after each month listing:

                        -Standings.
-Top 5 MLB leaders in most offense and pitching categories.
-Listing of transactions for that month.
-Team info/stats from MLB.com for user controlled teams.

                        --------------------------------------------------------------

                        On into May...

Played the Mets last night in our first meeting.

I moved Hamels' start back from pitching against WAS, so that I'd have him for the opening gm of the 2009 Mess/PHI rivalry.

He got roughed up early, and was tagged for 2 runs in the first inning. One coming off a Jose Reyes leadoff HR. He'd allow one more run in the 2nd, but then hold the MESS scoreless through the 7th inning. He was charged w/ another TEN HITS though.

I ended up winning this one in the 11th inning, after a dominant performance by both Madson over 3 innings (8th-10th) to hold the Mess scoreless. Sean Green and JJ Putz combined to keep me scoreless through 5 innings too, but I had 2 or 3 opportunities to do some damage and break the tie. Putz is damn good at getting you out as he induced flys and grounders only allowing 1H.

It was Billy Wagner - who I had placed on the Mets AAA roster because of his Tommy Johns surgery - who would lose the game for NY.

Utley lead off the B11th inning w/ a short dribbler to SS Jose Reyes. Utley was able to reach 1st safely, and then given Wagner's extremely long windup stole 2nd safely. Howard now had Utley on 2nd, and singled in the winning run scoring Utley form 2nd.

                        Game Over. Phillies win. Lidge gets his 4th W as he pitched a hitless/scoreless T11th K'ing 1.

                          Re: FRANCHISE PROGRESS

I just started the second season of my Chicago Cubs/Torono Blue Jays franchise. I simmed most of the first season just to see what free agency, the draft, retirements, etc. were like.

Neither team qualified for the playoffs in 2009. The Cubs were decimated by injuries (which included D. Lee, R. Theriot and A. Ramirez), allowing the Pittsburgh Pirates(!) to win the NL Central, with the St. Louis Cardinals claiming the Wild Card.

The Blue Jays finished above .500, but were kept out of postseason play thanks once again to the log-jam atop the AL East. The Red Sox and Yankees won the division and Wild Card, respectively.

Here is a snapshot of notable trades/player moves that were made in the 2009 season:

                          - CHC sign FA M. Ramirez (preseason move)
                          - CHC trade A. Soriano to SD for J. Peavy (preseason move)
                          - CHC trade C. Zambrano and a AAA prospect to the NYM for J. Reyes (this move was made after I lost R. Theriot for the season due to aforementioned injury issues)
                          - TOR trade A. Rios to BOS for K. Youkilis
                          - TOR signs FA T. Lincecum (offseason)
                          - TOR signs FA C. Bucholtz (sp?)

I am now focusing more on playing games in the second season, with the Cubs now 15-9 and the Blue Jays hovering around the .500 mark in the first weeks of the 2010 campaign.

But anyways, I had a night and day game with the Mets, I lost the first game 19-3, and then switched my sliders to more like JBH's, and I won 1-0. Blanton pitched a gem of a gem, then Madson and Lidge gave me near heart attacks, but I pulled it off.

I traded Kendrick and a minor leaguer I signed to the Nationals for Caberera. I think it will be a good deal for me and my team. I only got to play one inning, and he struck out 2 batters.

First, allow me to correct myself. I simmed the first TWO seasons in my franchise before signing Lincecum. So he was available after the 2010 season. No big FAs were available following 2009, so I didn't sign any and completely forgot about being in 2011.

Secondly, I have had MLB 2K9 for 360 since release day (midnight opening actually) and downloaded the release day patch which fixed the franchise free agency bug. I did not start a Franchise until after I DL'ed the patch due to the whole FA issue.

He was the only top of the line FA available in 2010-2011's offseason (and by that, I mean anyone over 90 OVR). All other FAs were in the low 80s or below. For example, other FAs that I signed were Troy Percival (83), Dimitri Young (81), Felix Pie (80) and Chris Shelton (73).
