Re: Hall Of Fame: Yes Or No?

Both Ortiz and Martinez should both be in the Hall of Fame zero questions asked. To discuss it in the fashion it is being discussed here is quite NBA fan-ish.

And for the love of God, society, please stop with this "mic drop" ****.

That mic is probably broken, as many times y'all dropped it.

      Gun to head, Ortiz>Edgar.

      I nominate Frank Thomas.....

      two mics drop ...

I don't buy into the "Clutch" thing at all. Ortiz is just a really good hitter period his postseason splits are really similar to his regular season splits.

and Martinez is better by probably a hair but he is. This is NBAish in comparing though because mainly for the longest time Ortiz has been proclaimed a lock while Martinez name rarely gets mentioned. Both should easily get in though.

Shocker of the thread.. Matrix hates something about society today.

As for the debate, I think they both deserve to get in. Edgar was the best DH of his time, Ortiz has been the best DH of his time. Once Ortiz broke out and became Big Papi, Edgar was on his farewell tour.

If this post would've had a "mic drop" at the end, it would be perfect.

Griffey's speech was as good as Tony Gwynn's a while back and one of my favorites, Bob Uecker.

I loved the backwards hat at the end, the huge ovation with it and the tears streaming down his face.

I was there. Great speeches by both of them. Loved the chants of "Edgar, Edgar, Edgar!" At the end. Also saw Peter Gammons there as well, walking to his van or whatever it was. No autographs though. They left immediately after the interviews :

                        And dumps. But yeah.

I enjoyed Piazza's speech more than Griffey's I think. Griffey's was a bit subdued but Piazza's was very polished and articulate and he was pretty smooth in delivery. Both did a good job. Griffey was more emotional than I thought he would be.

                            A serious question?

Pujols is a no doubt, 1st ballot type of guy. An all-timer.
