God, baseball needs to start already before this place turns into reddit for good.

That’s exactly why. As someone has said, the stadium itself isn’t bad. A nice, fun, family friendly atmosphere.

Went to a game late last season on a Wednesday. Coming from Tampa, it takes 2 hours to get through downtown then over the bridge. First pitch was at 7. Game ended around 1030. Then we had to make our way back across the bridge which is still a good 30-40 minute drive without traffic. This is with a 2 yr old. Almost 12 by the time we got home. That’s to late and too much of a hassle on a weekend night especially with kids.

I think you might be underestimating the laziness of the human animal, lol. I think it's just as simple as people don't read the previous day or two of the thread before they post. And this running Bonds gag is just a humorous, passive aggressive way of pointing it out.

I have learned not to post transactions at this point because there are 3 or 4 guys in that thread who are already working on it full-time. Some people really feel like "breaking" the news in here, come hell or high water. Even if the news is not news anymore.

              Ah SCIENCE!!

Funny to me that Manfred has been claiming no differences in the baseballs when the evidence is pretty irrefutable. The CT scans show clear-as-day differences in the physical composition of the cores. Not to mention the differences in the chemical makeup itself as shown by TGA test. Either Manfred is too dumb to commission a proper testing of the baseballs or he is too obtuse (what did you call me?) to acknowledge the data publicly. Either way, I'd rather have the more dense baseballs and manufacturing process that led to nearly 2000 fewer homers back in 2014.

Selig's main scandal was juiced players. Manfred has juiced baseballs. The next commish has a high bar to reach...can the gloves and bats be messed up somehow perhaps? If only the sport could get out of its own way sometimes...

I didn't need to look at the link to know that the baseballs have been doctored up though it's nice to see it backed up by SCIENCE~! Every anecdote i've heard from current and former players about the baseballs these days tells me that there's something rotten in Denmark.

It "sounds" nice that baseballs have to be stored in climate controlled environment before games now but it's not going to have a huge effect one way or another. HRs might go down by a couple percentage points but I think we're still going to see crazy numbers owing to how the baseballs are made and all the influence of launch angle swings.

The rush to post news to be "first" has always been odd to me, not as weird as the first 78 responses to yahoo comment sections all saying "first" 20 years ago, but in general, it makes me wonder if people are constantly refreshing their news sources or if they just randomly happen to check and a story broke at that exact moment

edit: you know what? I forgot about phone alerts, it's probably as simple as getting an alert and throwing it out there on OS. This is OT but I have a buddy obsessed with sending me phone alert ESPN updates, he's not even a sports fan and doesn't even offer a discussion point of the alert, he just wants to be "first" to inform me of sports news.

There used to be a guy, years ago, that would literally copy/pasta from MLBTraderumors to the hot stove thread. I don't think he's around anymore, but I always found it funny.

Still here and still does it without the obvious copy and pasting part.

Problem now is that twitter is beating MLBTR so it's not as efficient as it used to be.

I was hoping it was intentional walks.

Personally, the thing that would miff me most about this is if I was an outfielder and they drove over my grass, altering my bounces. I hope they stay on that warning track there!

On a lighter note, imagine if these were in play when Major League I * II came out, and Rick Vaughn came out on a cart while the crowd sang "Wild Thing." Putrid, I tell ya!

Doesn't mean much to me if I'm not in the stadium. Looks like it's just the D-backs who are currently exercising this, anyway.

As much as people hate them, I don't think it's such a bad idea. Easy money as well for the teams just putting a sponsor on that too.

I don't think those cars will impact the field much if at all. They do have cars driving on the field pre-game too when setting up/taking down batting practice cages. I'm sure it's the same type of tires on those.

All these little time saving measures MLB does will probably make very unnoticeable differences. I'm still waiting for the pitch clocks which I believe will be the biggest time saving change MLB can possibly do.
