Re: Official San Diego Padres Thread - 2006
“It's frustrating,” batting coach Dave Magadan said. “If we were having good at-bats and hitting the ball hard, it'd be different. But we're making a lot of soft outs. When we get the count in our favor, we're chasing out of the strike zone.
“It's amazing how the whole team can get into a funk like this.”The DuCross Brothers: Sports Internet Talk Show

Hmm another shutout. All Magadan's fault again? I think not. This is just a ****ty team.Comment

Wow, who the hell dressed up in the Padres jerseys today. They actually have a lead.
*Jinx.
Edit: Haha, just as soon as I ponit that out they lose the lead.Last edited by BatsareBugs; 04-29-2006, 10:32 PM.Comment

It's really sad when 2 runs is considered an offensive explosion. I suppose it wasn't the players fault though.Comment

Last place in the crappiest division in baseball. Doesn't get much more embarrassing.Comment

Re: Official San Diego Padres Thread - 2006
And what I predicted mid-way through last season is coming true. Surprise surprise. Now if the offense wasn't as boring as it has been then I'd still be interested, but I really don't care about the team since the hitters are strugglings and great pitching performances keep being wasted.
This is beyond worse than 2002 and 2003 combined. And how they got those 8 wins... it's a miracle. I feel sorry for Trevor, maybe he should've had signed with Cleveland, he'd have a whole lot more chances of getting saves and a better shot at getting the saves record than he would here.Comment

At their current pace, they are on track for 105 losses this year. Gotta love that along with what is probably the most depleted farm system in the league.
Is it too much to ask, that one SD team show some competence and contend for a title?Comment

What the hell? I guess a blind squirrel does find a nut once in a while.
I'm surprised that the Dodgers blew this one but much of the blame should go to Lance Carter for not performing. This game was a given for the Dodgers but the Dodgers relievers walked way too many hitters.
Still, doesn't mean anything to me despite it being a comeback win...Comment

Another bright note, with his 2 innings of scoreless work Brazelton has worked his ERA down to 10.69.Comment
