MO! Don't you crush my hopes and dreams lol

I agree, but still, getting some positive momentum early in the season is nice and allowing guys that are on the block to build a solid resume would be helpful. Looks like that isn't happening.

I know we are in "Operation Wait" until 2015, but damn, Baez needs to be in the bigs. Sheesh.

Hopefully he'll get his first cup of tea this year. I'd like to see him, Bryant, and maybe Almora by the end of the season.

Bryant for sure will be up this year in my opinion. Now way he stays the full year in the Minors.

Really good article from Grantland about the rebuilding of the Cubs:

Baez probably. Bryant real long shot. Almora has no chance.

I'd be surprised if Barney makes it to May with the club. Samardzija looks on the way out too, wouldn't be too sad about trading him.
Kris Bryant doesn't hit homeruns, he destroys pitcher's dreams. #Bryantwatch

Darwin has always been an expendable piece, in my eyes at least. Samardzija is a curious one, though, as he is here during a curious Cubs stretch and the Edwin Jackson contract kind of made it weird. All of a sudden I feel like I am hearing a lot of comments trying to rationalize Samardzija not being worth it long term, too. He's one of the few pieces I wish the Cubs actually don't deal. I dunno, should be a more interesting year even if the record column doesn't drastically change.

Renteria needs to stop playing around and let Lake and Olt play everyday. If they are really"developing them for the future" then they need to be in the lineup getting reps.

I know Olt is new this year, but Lake (at least IMO) proved he deserved an everyday slot last year with the way he played in limited time.
