I hate to be a Negative Nancy, but is anyone else excited to see how many home runs Noesi will give up tomorrow in Phoenix?

It wasn't pretty but neither was the M's offense. From reading the post game comments even Ichiro starts to sound frustrated. I wonder if he could be *gasp* traded at some point?

The last thing the Mariners could do to help their team is trade Ichiro

Ichi's one of the last standing reasons people attend games at Safeco.

Which to me is no comprendo. It goes to show how stupid the average fan is. Ichiro's decline has been steep and he is barely watchable. He holds little to no trade value, unfortunately he is stuck in Seattle.

Seattle is a heavily-based 'take your client/child/family to have a day at the ballpark' team, not a 'let's go see the Mariners play the Angels' team, which is disappointing. If the city put more focus on the team and not the atmosphere, money would be put where it needs to be the most.

Also, I'm not saying that there isn't any fans that go out to actually see the Mariners play, I'm just pointing out that when I'm at a ballgame everyone around me is on their smartphones are chatting up a storm, paying no attention to the game.

My hope is that Ichiro does the right thing and finishes his last couple years of playing in Japan after this season.

I've never felt a connection with him as a player... Ever. I respect his talent and accomplishments a great deal, but he's never been a guy that I've gotten real excited about. When I think of some of my favorite Mariners of all time, I think of players like Junior, Edgar, the Big Unit, Bone... Ichiro is not even in the same stratosphere as those guys.

I don't care how many butts he puts in the seats... I hope with everything in me that this is his last year in Seattle. If we could move him for a marginal prospect, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Noesi needs to go away... At least for a while, to AAA to sort his BS out. His starts are painful to watch. I wonder why Beavan got sent down while Noesi is still ran out there every fifth day. Beavan is a fringe player at best, but he seemed to be more consistent than Noesi despite a string of bad starts.

It's only June and I am sadly starting to look forward to football season already. I love baseball and am trying with all of my might to keep my interest going, but this has been another disastrous year. Another 95+ losses is on the horizon, which is OK in itself, but I wish more progress was being made. Offensively, we're better. It's just not enough.

Yeah, the culture and atmosphere at an M's game is sad, really.

My son is 2 and I have another son on the way in August. My hope is that by the time they're old enough to go see a game with me, the M's are competitive and have a good team. Hopefully by then, our current owner and Chuck and Howie are a distant memory.

                I can only hope.

Maybe it's because I'm Asian, but Ichiro has always been one of my favorites. I'm one of the few people left who still want him here, though I do understand those wanting him out.

I feel that Noesi is still up in the Majors to compensate the Mariners 'fair end' of the Yankees deal for Montero...'a Major-league ready pitcher'. Correct me if im wrong but he's been kept up the whole season, the Mariners probably want to show that they got the better end of the deal, hoping Noesi can prove himself sooner or later...

My problem with Ichiro is that he's a recluse. I completely respect "celebrities" right to privacy, but he's about as distant as you can get from the M's fanbase. The bond isn't there with the fans because there's little to no interaction. He is one of the greatest quotes in baseball, its a shame they're never in English or live though.

He's got a lot of potential, but needs time to develop an out-pitch and learn to throw balls. On top of that, his release point is really sporadic and he tends to overthrow on fastballs behind in the count. He's giving up an OPS over 1.000 in 0-2 counts. That's unfathomable. I think he's still with the big club because there's no one to replace him from Tacoma and the potential is there (with a ceiling way higher than Beaven), but he's simply raw and needs to develop.

Congrats to Ichiro for hit 2,500. If you add in his Orix Blue Wave stats from Japan he now stands at 3,778 hits professionally.

I'm excited to see the Red Sox series coming up at the end of June. Their team is getting a little too dysfunctional and with the recent Ortiz comments, things might be hanging over the Sawks' clubhouse....
