Huge series this week against Arizona. Hopefully the Reds can pull further ahead in the wild card race.

That double play turned in the 9th was spectacular. Good to see Arroyo pitch another solid game, and our bullpen shut it down.
It was also nice to see Ludwick drive his first run in. It would be huge if he could start hitting for them, be it in the 6th hole or wherever.

Totally....his Jekyll and Hyde ways are getting old. :/

Walt's plan of our injured players coming back being our deadline moves is starting to unravel. Broxton done for the year. Cingrani likely to the DL because he got 12 pitches into his side session and had to be shut down. Marshall and Cueto are likely 2-3 weeks away. Ludwick's bat is looking SLOW.

And I still don't trust Dusty "managing" this team.

Haha, I may have been overzealous on that one. I'm still impressed at his turnaround. He's good with streaks of greatness. I'll take that over bad with streaks of goodness. I still consider Latos the staff ace, Cueto the talent with injury problems, with Bailey being too good to be just a #3. Leake and Cingrani (great name btw) being solid back end young starters.

Never been sold on Broxton. I honestly believe he's still mindfurked from the Phils beating him and the Dodgers a good 5 years ago twice in two seasons. I would NOT hand him the ball in a pressure playoff game. That said, I would still trade Chapman for the right return and go with closer by committee. Or even an unknown. I look around the league, and see closers names I've never heard of. For every Rivera, there's 5 teams with a reliever I've never heard of putting in 30 saves a year.

Big series with STL, and it's on ESPN so I can catch it locally. Sweet!

tough loss last night Umpire Dan Bellino is officially the worst ump in MLB. Rang up Ludwick on an inside pitch that was no where near as close as the 3-2 count on Holliday that he called a ball to load the bases. Same idiot that ejected Adrian Beltre for talking to Felix Hernandez during an at-bat

I was sitting at a traffic light a couple of miles down the road from my house when Hoover walked whoever it was. Then Allen Craig came up. Despite having my windows up, I dropped a pretty loud f-bomb. I think I offended the lady driving the car next to me. I typically don't do stuff like that but I was so ticked about that slam Craig hit. I think it was because I knew it was going to happen. The minute Thom Brenneman said that Leake had never lost a start when he was given a 4-0 lead, I knew the Reds were screwed. It's frustrating how they've let the Cards get into their heads over the last few years. This year it's been the worst. Getting tired of it.

Phillips has moved back into the 2 hole for the game tonight. Bruce hitting 4th. I hope they can at least get a win out of this series, but it has been pitiful. The play with Cozart and Bruce was terrible. The way they have been playing makes me feel they will lose the play in game no matter who it is against, and even though they are far ahead of Arizona, it isn't a given yet either.

knew it was going to be that type of night last night with the two bobbles in the first inning. Cards are clearly in their heads

I did not watch one pitch of Tuesday night's game. Not one. I haven't turned on tonight's game yet. Not sure if I will. I do see they are ahead at the moment. They piss me off. I'll watch them again when they're in Denver.

On the lighter side of things, did you all hear the sound byte of BP going off on C. Trent Rosecrans? Apparently OBP is a hot button with BP. Wow.

Phillips is out of line here. Even if Phillips disagrees with Rosencrans' assessment, Phillips should have gone about saying it differently.

I like CTR. I think he does a good job. BP was out of line. I will say though, after the offensive outburst on Wainwright tonight, I almost want CTR to tick off a Reds player every night! Just leave out picking on a guy's weight or whatever else he has going on. Pretty pathetic it took something like that to happen to fire up this team to beat the Cards though.

I doubt that's why they beat the Cards.
