The biggest exclusion from the callups is Rey Navarro. He's a 24 year old SS that had s great year at Louisville but for some reason Walt doesn't care now some team will take him for nothing in the off season.

Navarro was at AA for a good part of the season, but I do agree he had a solid year, and considering ss is our weakest position offensively at the big leagues, why not get a good look at some of these guys the last month.

I like Cozarts defense at short, but as offensively challenged as we are we have to find offense anywhere we can get it. SS is a position that definitely needs looking into as far as a replacement goes if we can find someone who can hit that plays short, they need to seriously consider a change. Cozart bascially is another Paul Janish, only difference is Cozart dont let his poor offense effect his defense, where as Janish did let his poor bat effect his D.

This team has quite a few holes to fill. Bullpen needs major work, and they have to atleast find a LF'er that can hit, preferably find a LF'er and ss who can hit.

It wont surprise me if Ludwick's option gets picked up by Walt, we all know how Walt loves ex Cardinals, seems this is where they all come once they are washed up,lol.

If they revamped the bullpen and find a bat for LF, I htink we can come back strong next year. I know a lot of people are down on Bruce, but I think its just one of those horrible years that can happen to a player, and I dont think he has been 100% all year physically. If JB can come back strong next year, and Votto returns to what he was or close to what he was before he got hurt in 12, and BP gets healthy the offense can be productive, with Mez and Billy continuing to improve, along with having Frazier in the lineup.

I know Walt cant sit on his hands this offseason, even if it means giving up 1 of our starters in rotation. I hope we dont have to give up either Cueto or Latos, but something has to change on offense for us. Pitching will get you pretty far, but you have ot be able to score runs to win games consistently.

If we dont start winning some games this last month the Trash from the North Side of Chicago is going to pass us up and were going to finish in the cellar, what a embarrassment this season has been that the Scabs of Chicago might actually finish ahead of us, smfh.

Am I the only one that wants them to end in last place? I'm not one for tanking but they are out of it so they should try and get a higher draft pick next year.

I'm not sure that I care one way or another. This organization is continually disappointing me. I have been a Reds fan my whole life (born in 1973) and I played baseball for nearly 20 years. My fandom of the sport is waning every year and I am not sure if I will care much longer if the Reds don't do SOMETHING significant to get better this off season. There are some promising things happening with guys like Hamilton, Mez and Frazier. We have a good rotation but that will be busted up next year and we have a whole lot of nothing in the minors. But whatever promise there is, you can multiply it by 3 for disappointments.

We'll see how things go this off season. As for this season, its done and I am done. Will check box scores from time to time but not daily. Hopefully the off season will bring something that can get me excited about this team again. But I'm not holding my breath.

I don't mind that logic. If we can't get into the playoffs, let's mess up those teams' plans.

I know we wanna see some young guys get their licks in, but come spring training we'll be crying small sample size at the end of the season, playing against other teams' backups and spot starters, etc.

They'll get enough playing time, but the real proving grounds are in spring training. Not to mention other factors like contracts, service time, etc.

I never believe in purposely tanking games to get a higher draft in any sport. I do think we need to see what the Sept callups can do, and heck with that unwritten rule of playing your regulars against contending teams. We need to do whats best for us, not whats best for other teams. Im not saying you should throw you regulars out their against 1 team then let the callups play against another team contending, but you have to see what these young kids can do. You actually can get a better feel during the season than you can during spring training, because during spring pitchers arent going all out.

I do think we need to make dam sure we stay out of the cellar though, as thats as embarrassing as it can get if you let the biggest joke in all of sport the North Side Loser Cubs finish ahead of you. I just have a very strong hatred for the Scabs of Chicago, that I just cant stand to lose to them or finish behind them ever My Grandma raised me to hate the Cubs, and my Dad raised me to hate all California teams in any sport, dont ask me why my dad felt that way, cause I would get banned if I said why, although Im sure you can figure it out without much thought put into it,lol. Not sure why Grandma hated the Cubs but she did, probably because most of them are clueless fools when it comes to baseball I do know some that are good people though.

LMBO! That was the nice version of my hatred of the Cubs, lol. Oddly enough I actually married a Cubs fan Probably why I hate them even more now if thats possible is because she comes from a long line of Cubs fans, and her Dad is a lazy piece of trash, so I think my hate has grown even more since I have been married to her.

She does actually own Reds gear, and wears it more than she does her Cubs gear. After her 1st trip to Opening Day in Cincinnati I think made her a fan of the Reds. She actually once to move to or near Cincinnati so we can go to more games that just Opening Day and a few games here and there because of living too far away. So she has wised up some since we got married

I happened to make it down to the field at Fenway for batting practice prior to the Red Sox-Jays game Friday night thanks to connections. Got to chat with someone connected to the team. He mentioned they are coming after the Reds pitchers this offseason. Shouldn't come as a shock to anyone but thought it was interesting that was the first thing he said when I happened to bring up that I was a big Reds fan.

I figure there will be a lot of teams asking about the availability of Cueto and Latos this offseason. Even though Leake isnt a power arm I could see him drawing some interest from some teams as well.

As much as I hate to see our starting rotation weaken, its not doing us much good if we cant give them any run support. With the pitching we have got from our rotation this year and what the pitching has a whole did in 12 and 13 we should have gotten a lot farther than we did in the Postseason. Its a shame how many quality starts we have gotten this year be wasted by lack of runs and a piss poor Bullpen.

There was a time back when we could score runs with the best of them but pitching was horrid, and these last few years its been just the opposite, lol.

I know injuries has a part in it this year but this team hasnt been good offensively for a few years. I think this year is the worst offense I can ever remember us having in all my life. As bad as it was when we had 2 of the worst hitters in baseball in Cozart and Stubbs batting 1 and 2 in the lineup we still manage to get timely hits to win games, but this year I c ant ever remember a worst Reds team offensively.
