      Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

We shall see, phenom. The important thing is that the A-10 has gotten a lot of press at a key point of the season about being a good conference and having 6 teams in the RPI Top-50. I think as long as those top 6 don't have any more bad losses (Dayton's wasn't too good) they should get 5 of those teams in. What would make things better is if the top teams ended up winning their conference tournaments. *puts on tinfoil hat* Now as we all know there have been rumors in the past about top teams dialing it down in the conference tournaments in order for the leagues to get more teams in. We'll see what happens.

Great win by X tonight. Don't like blowing a big lead again like they did at UMass but they got a no-doubt win in the end.

Bad loss by Dayton. Not that there is shame in losing @ St. Louis, they are a decent team who's played everybody in the A10 close this year(except the blowout @ Richmond), but it looks bad from the outside. Hopefully they get back on track, they were looking great with those two straight dominating performances.

Temple, Richmond and Xavier are all in very good shape right now I think. Rhody only plays one more against the top 6, if they go 4-1 down the stretch(with the loss being @ Charlotte), I thin they'll be in good shape. 5-0 would look really nice for them. I think Charlotte needs to finish in the top 3 of the league to have any hope at an at-large, they have the least impressive OOC resume, but some good conference wins, if they can finish in the top 3 of a very strong league, they will have a case.

St. Louis is 7-3 in the conference right now. They have home games against Rhody, X, and Temple, among a few other games, still to play. Tall order but if they win those games, they might be in the talk for an at-large bid. It's rather amazing considering how young that team is. Majerus has done a nice job with those kids. Chaifetz Arena is a tough place to win a game if you're the visitor. I'm rather scared about X's match-up with them in 10 days or so.

Yeah SLU has not lost at home this year. I don't why it's a tough venue because it does not get that loud but they beat Richmond and Dayton so something makes it tough. SLU does not have a OOC worthy of an at-large. They have to win the tourney in my opinion.

Richmond got ranked in the AP poll this week. First time in 24 years and that was back when it was the top 20. Lunardi has Temple as a 5, UR and X as 7's, Dayton and Rhody as 10's and Charlotte as a 12(last 4 in). I would love to see all 6 get in.

Rhody @ SLU highlights the mid-week games, big game for Rhody to right the ship, SLU has a brutal finishing stretch, but could start to sneak into the NCAA talk with another good win.

The rest of the top 6(or 7, now) should win, only Temple has to go on the road(to play the Bonnies).

SLU gets the win at home 62-57. I wish I would have been able to watch that one. I instead watch Xavier dismantle St. Joe's 88-52. Temple and Richmond took care of business tonight as well.

What in the world happened to Charlotte tonight? Were they looking ahead to Saturday? I was a little shocked to see them lose at home to Duquesne. Grant it, the Dukes have been playing better of late but I didn't expect that at all.

Oh, and Fordham is getting more dough for the basketball program to help them be more competitive. They do know that the size of their gym is a big problem, right?

                  Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

Horrible, horrible loss by Charlotte. They really have to do something special in the last 5 A10 games, and in the A10 tournament to get back into the NCAA picture. They will have their chance with games against X, Rhody and Richmond, but will likely need to win out to finish in the top 3 of the league and get back in the conversation. I think they've stamped their NIT ticket at this point.

Rhody's slide continues, they haven't had bad losses, but it's going to be hard for the 7th place A10 team to get much NCAA talk. They should go at least 3-1 down the stretch, 4-0 would probably put them back in the top 5 and back into the NCAA picture.

SLU is an interesting case, they did NOTHING OOC(even less than Charlotte, which did nothing themselves), but now have 3 good conference wins with 3 more chances down the stretch. If they stay hot and somehow finish out 4-1, they will be in the discussion.

Saint Louis is interesting to me from an outsider's perspective; they are giving me the same feeling Temple gave the last two years. They didn't necessarily do enough in the OOC but they are playing better and better so teams don't want to face them.

Good win by X, they controlled most of the game, they are just playing for seeding at this point.

Temple survived a scare at St. Joes.

It was a good win for X. They did control most of the game, which was nice to see from my standpoint. I wasn't sure what to expect but coming away with a win like that in a hostile environment was good. Next up is SLU at Chaifetz Arena on Wednesday.

Temple got very lucky. Moore apparently made a shot right before the buzzer for them to send it to OT?

Yeah, Williamson of St. Joe's hit a lay up with 5.7 secs left and then Lavoy Allen led the inbound to Moore and he went down the court for a lay-up. Then in overtime Lavoy Allen dunked on some dude from St. Joe's.

Dayton is in trouble. They really need to beat Temple and Richmond on the road to be back in the at-large talk, I think. The Duquesne Dukes are quite the spoiler this season.
