Yes they did. Plus Temple's 1st-round match-up is against a team I was scared of Xavier playing their first game against: Cornell. That's a big screwjob for them.

Very happy X drew Minnesota even though that won't be an easy game. Looking at the bracket, I really think X has a shot at the Elite 8. Obviously they first have to beat the Gophers but they can beat Pitt in Round 2. They aren't the same team they were last year. If they get past them, they've played K-State and Florida already so they know them. Plus they played BYU a few years back in the tourney. Yeah they had no Jimmer Fredette then but still. The way the bracket looks, I think X can make a run. We'll see.

        Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

Yeah I have X going to the elite 8. My only worry is that if BYU gets by Florida and KSU, they pretty much get a home game with the next set of rounds in Salt Lake City.

But I still think it will be Xavier vs Cuse. And that will be a great matchup.

Looks like Charlotte is getting Alan Major from Ohio State. I would have been a little shocked had Kelsey taken the job only because Chris Mack tweeted the other day that he and Kelsey were hitting the recruiting trail.

I think Alan Major is great hire for the ball team here at charlotte. He has a great approach to the game, something I cannot confidently say about Lutz. But anyone here think Major could turn Charlotte into a perennial contender for the A-10?

Duquesne's Melquan Bolding is transferring. That's a big loss for the Dukes. Couple of other guys are leaving too. Not sure what's going on with Coach Everhart...

From what I am hearing Temple will play at Villanova/ Duke, home against Georgetown/Seton Hall and in DC against Maryland in the BBT Classic or whatever it is called.

Temple always seems to have a strong OOC schedule every season. Chaney always scheduled that way and it seems Dunphy does too. I've always liked that.

Xavier had a transfer commit today. Travis Taylor, a 6'8" 200 lb sophomore averaged 17.8 PPG and 7.6 RPG for Monmouth last year. He'll have two years left after sitting out next season. Hey, if this kid plays like Derrick Brown, like the XU beat-writer mentions, I'm all for it!

Look in the Temple media guide and it’s pretty clear the school is proud of three straight Atlantic 10 championships. ...
Congratulations, Temple. You were the best team over the course of 4 days the last three years in winning three straight conference tournament championships. Does the author of that article mention the fact that Xavier has won four straight regular season championships, which last longer than four days? No, of course not. Why would that be important?

Yeah, I'm not sure if I think Rhody is the 5th best team in the A-10.

Then again, they have a pretty easy schedule, IMO. Outside of their usual non-conference tough opponent or two *Pitt and UF* I could see them going about 12-3, 11-4 into the conference. Then again, that's usually when we crap the bed and end up being marginal.

I seriously hope this is the make or break year for Jim Baron. NCAA's or bust.
