    Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

Word has it that Xavier's "Baby-faced Assassin" Brad Redford (or Pee Wee, as my dad calls him) tore his ACL in practice on Saturday morning and is done for the season. That's a huge weapon to lose. I've never seen a kid stroke it from 3-point range so easily like him, at least not since a guy like JJ Redick.

Stud Xavier frosh, Justin Martin, ruled ineligible by the NCAA for the season. Mark Lyons had the exact same problem a couple of years ago. Not sure who to blame for this happening again (XU compliance office, NCAA, HS guidance counselors) but it's rather annoying.

Page Not Found (404): It looks like you're lost... The page you are looking for no longer exists.

After losing Martin and Redford, Xavier is down to 10 scholarship players, as the article says. Might be a rough season. I wish Crawford had stayed another year.

Maybe this is finally the year UD gets a win at Xavier. Eh, probably wishful thinking...

There are those of us who are a little worried about that this season but X seems to win that game down here every year regardless of what kind of team they have. I expect the same this season! That streak is still pretty amazing to me, by the way.

Shamari Spears was very close to being kicked off the team this week. These kids are so use to being babied by Bobby Lutz and it looks like Alan Major doesnt play that crap. I love that!

Good for Alan Major. He seems like he'll be a great coach. I hope Charlotte returns to the level they were at in the late 90's and first half of the 00's. It would be good for the conference.

The point guards (Staten and Parker) looked good for the Flyers last night in their preseason game. The defense is shaky, but the offense is going to be much improved over last year's because they actually have playmakers at the point.

                    Re: The Atlantic 10 Thread

This could potentially be a rough year for Xavier. Lost Saturday night to D-II Bellarmine 63-61. Their front-court was apparently terrible (I didn't see the game) and their top two returning guards were the only ones that did anything. Grant it, only an exhibition game and it's early November. They got off to a slow start last season and made it to the Sweet 16. Never know what could happen. Still, they have a brutal OOC schedule: Butler, @ Miami (OH) - Millett Hall is a tough place to get a win over a rival (trust me), Wake, Florida, Wofford, @ Georgia (in Feb.), @ Cincy. I predicted a 7-12 loss season last year and they finished better than that. I'm going to go with at least 10 losses this season. I hope I'm wrong. Doesn't mean they can't make the tournament. We'll see what kind of a coach Chris Mack is this season.

Temple looked good on Friday night and might be pretty deep this year. They pretty much dominated Seton Hall on the boards and Khalif Wyatt had a nasty crossover on someone from Seton Hall.

Didn't St.Louis suspend two of their better players the other day?

I totally forgot about that. Reed and Mitchell were suspended for being accused of sexual assault of a female student, or something like that. Reed is trying to transfer to K-State and Mitchell may return in January.

It's no excuse, but in the Gardner-Webb game, both Shamari Spears and An'Juan Wilderness were suspended.

Didn't know that. I think that's a viable excuse considering they are two of the best players on the team.
