NBA 2K gamers = spoiled brats

I wouldn't call them spoiled brats. Some of the models do look worse compared to last year.

Would of been fine with 2k16 models if they just worked on the thin legs

Honestly, that would also be a good idea. I kind of want to see what changes 2k made to athletic bulky player models regardless of what screenshots has been released.

To a certain extent though. Draymond Green 2k17 definitely looks better than 2k16. 2k16 player models do have a semi-super hero look to them in the shoulder width region. Deron William and Durant 2k16 and even Klay Thompson to a certain extent in the above gif definitely looks too built.

The problem is that they took it too far with guys like Giannis.

Green 2k16 was definitely a little bit on the chunky side. Watching gameplay footage, especially broadcast footage, I can understand why the models look the way they do in 2k17, but I'll reiterate, my biggest concern is the arms (from the front view, easily seen during free throw sequences) looks entirely too frail in 2k17 (i.e. Durant, Curry, college skinny kids). Had they increased the girth width of the arms from the front, I think our reactions would be entirely different. Plus, giving the players who have muscle definition certainly would have helped.

What I would have liked to have seen was 2k16 models getting a small 0.5 to 1 centimeter trim for all their player models.

I don't know what it is, but something looks funny about player's skin textures. It's as if they're glowing/illuminated, as if there's light INSIDE their bodies shining outwards. I don't know how to explain it exactly, but it ruins the realistic feel for me. It kinda makes the players look like they've been photoshopped from playing outside in the sun and placed in an inside court. The skin textures don't have much definition, it's kinda a blur.

We are offering our opinions backed with real evidence from past and present games, to show the just how badly player bodytypes have been developed for 2K17.

In many ways it's 2K's fault for this reaction by the fans. 2K for the most part have done a fantastic job with player face scans, which then looked at in comparison to the very poor bodytpes - it stands out like a sore thumb.

Then you throw in the fact that bodytypes that fit certain players in years prior have suddenly disappeared - with no explanation as to why, it forces us to speak up. Continued advancements are made in the visual department, but then players lose all semblance of muscle definition, looking more like malnourished children instead of world-class athletes.

The NBA 2K series has always been about striving for the most authentic NBA experience, and having realistic player representations is an immense part of that.

So we will carry on with this discussion until we receive a response/or change is made in either 2K17 or future titles. I'm a big fan of this series so don't mind at all taking my time to provide well thought out feedback to the dev team to help them continue with making NBA 2K the best sports game year in, year out.
Yeah, the body types problem is almost game breaking and really holds the game back. Kd dont look like Kd no more

                      Bravo.

These are constructive criticisms of the game. To come on here and name call is the most ridiculous, juvenile thing someone can do when everyone else in here are trying to make valid points in the name of improvement.

Ridiculous. And I'm so tired of this sort of childish **** around here man.

So again, bravo man. I couldn't have said it better.

I thought the kd model and most of the players body models in 16 was really good but people complained and complained that they looked fat so this is what y'all get for not leaving well enough alone.

Everyone wants perfection for this game including myself but that will NEVER ever happen.

Yes they can....they just need someone who's really passionate like the gameplay devs for the art department. This cut and paste approach is just not good....I can't believe they went the high school body look for grown men lol

I can't get over how some of these dudes look, Giannis in particular.

The skinny arms coupled with the extremely baggy jerseys just makes for an ugly character model.

As I've said before, 2K HAS to know that a lot of these don't look good. Did they lose resources in the art department? Is the lighting overhaul affecting other areas like body types?

Like others have said, KD and Curry looked great on their models last year, and some guys just needed their legs touched up. It's like 2K accidentally went to the extreme thinking that's what we wanted, and it's clearly not.

I know I'll look past the models once I have the game in my hand Friday, but I really hope this is priority for 2K18

Wish Owen Good was still at kotaku he's the one that calls out stuff like this. Sad part is since the forums are the ones making noise the art department can just ignore it.
