Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
So after Melo left for the Pacers in FA, I begin major revamping of the nuggets, Without going through the entire list of moves the team was basically revamped from head to toe, Only remaining players from the real life team are Afflalo and Harrington (Who I'm trying to unload)
My team is now centered around 2 rookies a PG (Nunez) and SG (Byrd) and they ARE THE HEART AND SOUL of this team. They are the best draft picks I've ever had in ANY game of any sport I LOVE THEM.
We just knocked off the Lakers in Rd1 game 7 in LA, mind you we were the 8th seed...THEY TRIED TO CHEAT ME, Kobe hits a 3 with 7 secs left to give them a 2 point lead, I'm swearing up a storm because my rookies deserved this series. BUT Byrd my SG nails a buzzer beater 3 to send the LAKERS HOME! I love my team even tho we still need to add pieces but we got in as a 8th seed (on the final game of the season) then knock off the lakers in 7 games..this is what I call fun!Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Here's the NBA Finals update I sad would come earlier in this thread.
#1 Seed Miami Heat (me) knock out #3 Seed Oklahoma City Thunder in a 4-0 series.
It sounds like a blowout, right? Wrong. It was a possession for possession game, in all 4 games at the end of the third quarter, I was either losing, tied, or up by 4. I loved every second of it because it was just so tough, but I managed to put the games away and score when it counted the most. I won by 12, 7, 3, and 7. Last update coming after my off-season concludes until I reach the all-star break in season two of my Miami Heat association, so it should be four to five weeks after I post the off-season wrap-up update..Comment

I'm the Hornets and I traded David West and somone filler for Tyson Chandler and they accepted. Then a week later I was offered Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and Dominique Jones for Emeka Okafor and Trevor Ariza. I also traded Quincy Pondexter for Lance Stephensin and a 2nd Rounder
Dropped my first 3 against the Magic, Lakers, and Hawks.
In the loss to the Lakers I was losing bad the Lakers held me to 6 points in the 3rd quarter. I couldn't create anything, Chris Paul had a hard time bringing it in with the Twin Towers down there. But then in the 4th quarter Chris Paul went off unleashing a barrage of 3's (I was playing on superstar). I scored 43 POINTS in the 4th. With under a minute left in the 4th I tied the game, then they hit a couple of shots and I was down by 4. With about 7 seconds left CP3 hit a jumper to cut the lead down to 2, I had to get a quick steal or foul Gasol went to inbound and Bellineli stole the ball I tried to get inside quick but I couldn't and gave it to Paul instead of calling a timeout out I went for the win I retreated to the 3points line and got a wide open uncontested look with CP3 but I miss timed the jumper and missed it. CP finished with 30 and 8 Kobe lit me up for 40 points.Milwaukee Bucks Dynasty:

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Hi I'm also in an Associate with the Timberwolves and wanted to ask you, what trades would you consider as reasonable? I thought you could for example try a better PF for Tolliver maybe go for Speights or perhaps Thompson of the Kings. Then I thought better sg would be nice because I do not particularly like Brewer I was thinking of Shannon Brown which would then play as the sixth man. What do you say to my ideas? Please tell me what trades do you think are good for the team.
Sorry for my bad english but I'am for Germany.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
More thoughts:
After a dismal season and another half-year of getting older, who is to say Tayshaun (or Rip for that matter) won't have their trade values decline further. Honestly, had Tayshaun said he'd resign with me, I'd have probably re-upped him for 3.
I told myself that in this association, Rip would be a Piston for life. It pained me to trade Tayshaun, but he at least still has value. You and I both know that Ben and Charlie are crap, but in NBA2K they will be productive in this game for many association seasons.
Don't know why I feel the need to defend myself, I'm pretty sure I gave up pretty fair value all around. I'm thinking of shipping Iggy right along with Terrico White for Granger. I need to get pieces to build around. And by 2k's trade logic, I'd be getting robbed! 6 stars for 3.75!
I definitely agree with you on wanting to play with as much as the real team as possible, but when you play 50 of your 82 game season in 12 minute games, could you really play with 2 players you revile as a true fan? I just can't do it.
EDIT: just looked and Gordon leads the Wolves in scoring with 21.3 in 32 minutes per game, while Charlie gets a respectable 11 and 5 in around 16 minutes per. <shrug>
I have a Detroit Pistons Association going (first NBA game since Live 98')....and I'm loving every minute of it. I've put down madden and can't stop playing 2k11. I have been converted.
I just finished my first season (played first 50 games then simulated the rest of the season). I made the Playoffs and lost to the Celtics in game 7 of the 2nd round.
Trade- T.Prince to Toronto Raptors for their 1rst & 2nd round picks in 2011). I made the deal at the trade deadline and the Raptors were ranked 17th in the Power rankings at the time. I wanted draft picks to get young cheap talent and Daye would see more time at the SF.
Well, Toronto proceeds to fall hard after the break and finished the season with the 3rd worst record and have a %15 shot at the #1 overall pick. So I head to the Draft lottery and as the teams ticked down.......5 (no Pistons).....4 (no Pistons).....3! (no Pistons)......2!! (NO PISTONS!!).......Booyahhh!!!!
......I land the #1 overall pick. I'm stoked.
NBA Draft (another Darko?)
"with the 1rst pick in the 2011 NBA Draft, The Detroit Pistons select......Perry Jones from Baylor."
After bringing in Harrison Barnes, Perry Jones, and Kyrie Irving for a shoot around in Detroit, I made my decision.....it was going to be Jones. The pick was in and the Pistons front office has just landed a franchise talent. They are extremely happy.
So the draft continues.......pick 2, pick 3, pick 4, and then all of a sudden a screen pops up after the 8th pick.
TRADE OFFER-
Pistons get 9th Overall pick (current draft 2011) and SG Charlie Bell
Warriors get Ben Gorgon
Rip Hamilton is retiring a Detroit Piston and Gordon was my 6th man, but the offer is too good to pass up. I accept the trade and let Ben Gordon go to the Warriors. The icing on the cake was the Ol' Spartan Charlie Bell. That sealed the deal.
Pistons are now on the clock (again!) with the 9th overall pick. I desperately need a PG with no one currently on the roster (Stuckey is a FA and I'm not paying him what he is asking), so PG is the first place I look at.
"with the 9th pick the 2011 NBA Draft, The Detroit Pistons select Brandon Knight from Kentucky".
I was happy to get another young talent at the PG position to fill the big void left by Stuckey .
Detroit Pistons starting lineup entering the 2012 NBA season-
PG- Brandon Knight (J.Williams FA)
SG- Richard Hamilton (Charlie Bell draft trade)
SF- Perry Jones (A.Daaaayyyoooooo)
PF- Charlie V, (Maxiel and Willie Reed 2nd round pick)
C- G.Monroe (T.Chandler FA)
After 2 games and a road win in Boston......I'm completely justified in the selection of Perry Jones. Dude is a beast putting up 31 and 34 in his first 2 games as a Pro (both wins). He's getting "Athleticism" training in his first two season (Vertical and Speed +5)
Rip is money in the bank coming off screens. He gets 8-10 plays a game.
Charlie V is a liability on the defensive end but he's a strong finisher close to the basket on offense. He's got great scoring skills.
Monroe is going to be a Piston for a long time. Make no mistake....this team is built around him. I feed him the ball in the high and low post. He can pass, shoot the J, and is great on pick and rolls. He's being trained on Defense for his first few season and will OWN the paint by year 3.
I play 10 min quarters with All-Star (custom sliders)
I love the "Auto" substitution option. I can set the minutes in the Coaching/Gameplan/Rotation screen and with "Auto" substitution it's works out almost perfect every game. It helps to speed up the game with no manual substitutions. Use it...it's a great feature.
Love the game 2k!!....you've gained another follower of this game franchise.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Restarted...... simmed first season, and I got Melo, Ryan Hollins, and Marcus Morris(draft pick) to this team.
Team is the same for the most part after that, but I now have a good number of 70+ or guys close to 70 on the team now with Melo being the leader.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Alright, so I just started a new Franchise post-patch with the Blazers, and so far I'm loving it. So far I'm really enjoying their roster, but I'm thinking of some changes I may make depending on how well certain players continue to play. For instance, Nicolas Batum, great defender, but really struggling to shoot the ball. He also doesn't have enough strength to get to the basket when being defended by bigger SF's, thus making him a complete waste on the offensive side. Oden / Przybilla, both are complaining about minutes, but with Aldridge and Camby playing so well I'm finding it hard to give both players the minutes they're asking for. Not only that, but both players tend to be injury prone. I'm thinking of shipping one for decent back-up SF or PF, but I'm unsure as to who that'll be.
Also, does anyone know how to put players on the Trading Block? Or at least alerting the CPU that certain players are available?Last edited by rockman2k2; 12-03-2010, 01:12 AM.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
Last update for a while in my Miami Heat association. Finished the off-season now, and I got 5 players in free agency for pretty cheap. Juwan Howard retired (at least he got a ring first), and I let Dexter Pittman, Jamal Maglooire, and Jannero Pargo (who I signed during the season) go. I signed Andre Miller, Garret Temple, Sasha Vujacic, and Tyson Chandler with the mid-level exception alone, it certainly went a long way as all of these guys consider winning important or very important. I also re-signed Kendrick Perkins (who I acquired from the Bobcats in the regular season as he was traded away from the Celtics) for 5 year/$65 million. I also packaged my first round draft pick (which ended up being #18 in the draft) and Joel Anthony for a 2012 first round pick from the Knicks. My team now looks like this.
PG: Andre Miller/Eddie House/Carlos Arroyo
SG: Dwyane Wade/Mike Miller/Sasha Vujacic/Garret Temple
SF: LeBron James/James Jones
PF: Chris Bosh/Udonis Haslem
C: Kendrick Perkins/Zydrunas Illgauskas/Tyson Chandler/Erick Dampier
My team looks complete and pretty deep now, and seems more than ready to defend the title. Here's hoping I can come away with another title in season 2 of my Miami Heat association, it will probably take somewhere from 6-8 weeks to complete the regular season, so it should be a while.Comment

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)
I know man but I'll be screwed cause I got lee 12 million. Conley 9million. Granger 13million. Gasol 10million. So I would have to trade one of them to keep mayo leaning towards trading gasol but he is one of the best centersComment
