Thanks for the advice. I think I may work on the NY or Orlando deal. I would certainly have tried the Denver Nuggets trade, but I can't pull off an inner Division trade, especially when we're now both tied for the same record for first.

The VC and Pietrus deal seems more plausible in the scheme of things, because of how well the Magic are playing in my Franchise. A deal like that would certainly help them reach the top spot in the East.

Yea I guess the DEN trade wouldn't make sense but Melo never resigns with them anyways... But the VC deal is pretty good anyways

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just picked up 2k11 yesterday but I started a Wizard's franchise and I ended up trading Gilbert and a 1st to the sixers for Iggy. Then I ended up making a bunch of random moves that got me the knicks and twolves 1st round picks. Then eventually I had the worst record in the NBA but the sixers had my first. I had the 7th projected pick(Twolves) but I won the lottery and the sixers got 14th so I won that deal. I still had the Knicks pick which was 18 but I traded someone else for the 15th pick and I ended up getting 3 first rounders. I traded for some team's first next year for my 2nd and someone else. So I couldn't get Melo, and it is in free agency right now and my roster is like this.
                      PGJ.Wall 85 A+ Pot.
                      SFA.Iguodala 85 B Pot.
                      SFP.Hooper(Draft 15pick)68 B+ Pot.
                      SFR.Balkman 66 B-pot.
                      PFC.Lowe(#1 Pick)74 A+ Pot.
                      PFA.Blatche 73 B Pot.
                      CS.Clemons 66(Knicks Pick)7'4 A+ Pot.
The top 5 remaining free agents are A.Iverson,J.R Smith, S.Brown, Kenyon Martin, Delonte West. Who should I get out of those as I have 27.27 million in cap space.

That's a trade finder trade, no doubt. Everyone thinks of everything in terms of real life. The video game treats each individual player and draft choice as a valued asset. Yi is going to progress, and Arenas still has potential as well and is already a prolific scorer and an excellent ballhandler.

People need to play with Roles and Chemistry ON, and trade override OFF. If you do this, while you might think you're "ripping off the CPU" - in most cases you are trading them MORE even though you are getting the "better" player/players.

The association I play, I traded Ben Gordon (3 stars), and Terrico White (3 Stars) for Kevin Love (4 Stars) and Wayne Ellington (1 star).

On its face, everyone says that I raped the CPU, and that "they'd never trade Love." You're right, in real life - they probably wouldn't.

There's a reason. I've posted earlier that I did two different sims to determine if 6 minute quarters and shorter seasons were viable for Hall of Fame players and they were. In both of those associations, I also watched Terrico White as he moved around the league. Once he became a 91 OVR, the second an 88 OVR. Ben Gordon stays an efficient scorer, but I only tracked White because he was younger and I could see more simmed years.

Ellington made it to a cap of 79.

The league starts to look nowhere near the same pretty much immediately anyways, so I urge you fine people to instead PLAY the game instead of worrying so much about what these teams would do in real life. The CPU is ABLE to build winning squads. In my first simulation, a generated player, I believe his name was Randy Shannon (something like that) - was an amazing PF for the Jazz - and they won 4 titles. In that same simulation, Lebron NEVER won a ring, and wound up retiring as a Rocket and going into the Hall ringless.

The point I am trying to make is that if you get into any sort of depth in this game, you've got to get GOOD scouts, rely on what they tell you, and develop teams. I still made this Love trade, and obviously I "love" what he does for my team - but I don't feel good knowing that I gave up what is going to be a solid SG down the line for one who barely gets to starter level.

Trade Balkman, sign Smith or Brown, whoever fits your playstyle better (use your scouting reports.) Better yet, make Hooper a prospect, and sign both Brown and Smith if they will take role player deals. It all really depends on your roles, but you don't have a "true" 2 guard up there.

Thought about that but I needed a player who talked about practice alot. But my rotation is good, I think I am going to restart with the kings, I love Tyreke.

Re: How's Your Association Going? (2K11)

Just started a franchise with the Washington Wizards. I'll only be here at my dad's until Sunday, so the Xbox info isn't going to be on my own and I'll start a new franchise whenever I get home. Since I'm low on time I thought it'd be fun to do a 29 game 5 minute quarters with a 3-3-5-5 playoff format on All-Star. I can't win on All-Star with longer quarters, but it's a lot more competitive to me with 5 minutes.

These are all of the transactions I've done so far. I tried to trade Cartier Martin for a draft pick, but no one would take his contract without giving back a player, it's depth I don't need, so I sent him down and traded N'diaye instead. Had to give up a 1st round pick to a worse team, but I figured getting back two 1st round picks was a good deal for me. I also wanted to have Ammo on my team, so I signed him to replace Martin's role in case Josh Howard or Al Thornton get injured. He'll take over as the backup SF. I'm trying to save him for next year, but if anybody at PF gets injured I can always call up Booker. Adam Morrison can also play SG, so unless I have a PG or C go down, I probably won't be forced to go get a solid free agent.

Sent Trevor Booker down to Dakota Wizards.
Sent Hamady N'diaye down to Dakota Wizards.
Called up Hamady N'diaye to Washington Wizards.
Sent Cartier Martin down to Dakota Wizards.
                              Traded Hamady N'diaye & '11 1st round pick to the Chicago Bulls for '11 1st round pick & '12 1st round pick.
                              Signed Adam Morrison for 1yr/$713k.

Right now my current rosters looks like this...

                              Washington Wizards

                              PG ... Starter (John Wall) 84 - 6th Man (Kirk Hinrich) 74
SG ... Starter (Gilbert Arenas) 86 - Role Player (Alonzo Gee) 68 - Bench Warmer (Nick Young) 66
SF ... Starter (Josh Howard) 71 - Role Player (Al Thornton) 68 - Bench Warmer {Inactive List} (Adam Morrison) 54
PF ... Starter (Andray Blatche) 73 - Role Player (Yi Jianlian) 67 - Bench Warmer (Kevin Seraphin) 54
                              C ... Starter (JaVale McGee) 67 - Role Player (Hilton Armstrong) 58

                              Dakota Wizards D-League Team
                              PF - Trevor Booker 66
                              SF - Cartier Martin 65

As of right now, John Wall is the only guy on my team I refuse to trade, but that doesn't mean I plan on making a bunch of trades. It just means that I'm keeping him for sure. Gilbert Arenas is pretty high on my list too, unlike in real life I have plans for him, he's in his prime and might even get a little better before he hits 30. Gee and Ammo are important to me because their potential is a 75 and 76 respectively. Gee is a lot closer to that though and will get minutes right now because of it. Trevor Booker's a 73 potential and he's a 6'7 rookie PF out of Clemson. I might have plans for him as the 2nd or 3rd PF in the future, as Blatche and Seraphin aren't on my list of keepers after this season. Yi Jianlian is up in the air, he's got tons of potential, but he might be good trade bait in the future. Same with JaVale McGee. Hilton Armstrong sucks, he's one guy who might not even last the year at backup C, unless I just don't get an opportunity to sign a center I see fit. I'm thinking Nick Young's got one more year on his contract so I'll let that expire as there's no place for him and I haven't decided what I'm going to do about Josh Howard and Al Thornton yet. I think a lot of it has to do with their production this year. I'm not huge on Thornton though, he's a big time SF/PF tweener.

With the possible exception on Hilton Armstrong, I plan on keeping this team together like this barring injuries for a while. I don't know about the All-Star break, because out of my 29 games, 27 of them are before the break, but I'll definitely give them a good chance to become a cohesive unit and a playoff team before I make any more transactions. I like the team like it is.

Started up my fantasy draft Pistons association and drafted the worst team possible. Finished 0-82 (simmed the first season) and now it's time to to start the offseason. Got the #1 pick in the draft, woo hoo!

EDIT: Drafted Kyrie Irving, PG out of Duke, and then later (due to a trade I made) acquired Tristan Thompson, PF out of Texas, near the end of the 1st round. Signed Stephen Jackson, Troy Murphy and Luke Ridnour (to back up Irving) to deals.
