Re: CPU Timeout problem, reason inside

What we have is the product of releasing a game too early. Aside from the TO issue, this is a solid game at $20. IMO, I don't think a bug this big would have made it out the door if it was retailing at $50. If it was $50 and I didn't have XBL, I would have returned it.

I'll just play online games and 24/7...which for $20 isn't that bad a deal.

Then what about last years Madden NCAA import problem? Or this years fatigue bug?
The 20.00 price tag had nothing to do with it. It was just missed, simple as that.

I got an idea. Make a game shark code that will change the computer coaching settings. That would fix it for franchise and give you the ability to unlock stuff for your profile (if you have a gameshark). Can this be done?

            The dynasty will return

There is no way that 67 testers did not catch this bug. Also, there is no way that this game was not tested entirely in franchise mode. All modes and gameplay must be tested completely to ensure that the game does not crash in order to pass Microsoft and Sony certification. This "timeout" bug may be a game killer for us die-hard fans (10-20% of total sales) who come on the boards to chat about the game, but the truth is the game will sell overall very well at the $20 price point and those that prefer a sim game (as opposed to Live 2005). Most people (casual game players) will either not notice or care about this bug. They will only care that the game plays well and they are able to complete a game. And this is the reason why the developers chose NOT to fix this bug and to release it ON TIME. This kind of thing happens more than you know in this industry. Sad, but true.

BUT HERE IS A WAY TO MAKE GAMES STILL EVEN IN FRANCHISE!!!

                    Don't use Time Outs too!!!

                        Not a great idea

Actually, because the biorythm works so well this year, TO's are more crucial than ever. Guys who get hot, REALLY get hot. (just like the NBA) You need TO's to cool them down.

Just on a side note, I am guessing you are in Europe?

The game gets re-coded for Europe / PAL / Asian release. They spend some time doing this...

It will be VERY easy to fix the TO bug when they do this...ie, all they have to do is switch CPU to's back to AUTO.

In the time to re-code to PAL / Asian release...it's fair to presume that will be done. (Historically, bugged games often don't have the same bugs by the date of later releases).

Whilst not fair on people who've got the US game...it also doesn't make sense to "keep' the bug for later releases etc.

I am sure it will be fixed for other releases...

Well the CPU can't cool down your players. So it's not fair for you to cool the CPU players down.

Well too bad because I have the Canada version (running on a US ps2), which is exactly the same thing as the US version 'cept for a second booklet in french that went to the trash as soon as I opened my package.
