Re: rspencer86's 2K10 Sliders and Settings

Phew. Just got done moving and figured I would unwind with some 2k10. This will be either my 12th or 13th game using these sliders, and I am officially done waiting for the bottom to drop out. Due to how things have gone for me in the past, sliders being great for 1, 2, maybe 3 games, and then I get used to them and start winning by 50, now more than ever it is apparent that this will never happen with RSpencers sliders.

I am having such a blast doing quick games that I've only played one game in an association with these. Since all the players play to their strengths, as do all the teams. It's just amazing to see how the game was always meant to be played. I used the Jazz, as I had literally never used them before, and went over all the team types I had pitted against each other, Good teams against great teams, below average teams against great teams, etc. Realizing I hadn't taken a playoff team against a very below average team, I dialed that up.

Took the Jazz and went up against the Pistons, who have a pretty talented roster, but the pieces just do not fit. The game was surprisingly competitive, now more than ever making me realize that there's just no way these are going to fizzle out. If the Pistons can go down by 16 to the Jazz and still fight back, then these are every bit as good now as they will be a hundred games from now, and I am so thankful for that. I own about 20 ps3 games and ever since I found these sliders, they've been collecting dust.

I went nuts with Deron Williams, as due to the openings you can get in this game now, the open looks, and maybe I'm crazy, but plays seem to work much better now and don't get broken nearly as often. I'm seeing different animations all the time. And just having great games.

One other thing I noticed is that it was always a given that if I had a Gasol, Garnett, D12, Dirk, etc. I would have myself a guaranteed 20 points and 10 rebounds. With these, the Pistons chose to pay extra attention to Boozer. He was held to 8 points on a horrendous 4/19 shooting. I've never shot that bad with a post player in my "2k career".

Deron Williams picked up the slack, scoring 44 points with 4 rebounds and 9 assists, 0 turnovers, and 16/25 shooting. Millsap and Korver were the only two other players i had in double figures, with 11 and 10 respectively. The Pistons were led by Rip and Ben-G, of course. Ben had 22, 14 of those 22 coming in a frantic 4th quarter comeback. Rip had 17 on 7/19 shooting. And Stuckey had a pretty solid game overall with 16 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals.

Typically I swing the ball and play a very, very team oriented game. But tonight none of my other guys could hit, Mehmet Okur made his first shot, a 3 point attempt, then missed his next 11, before getting fouled late in the 4th and making 1 of 2 free throws. Korver hit some big 3's down the stretch, as he tends to do sometimes. But ultimately it was Deron that saved the game for me.

Final score was 93-85 with me coming out on top after finally getting some breathing room after they tied the game for what seemed like the 50th time. They just wouldn't go away, which has been a recurring theme through every game I have played with these. The craziest thing has been how close the games are in all of them. In 12 or 13 games so far, I have only had one double digit win, if I'm not mistaken. Using the Nuggets I won, can't remember exactly, 95-71 or something like that. Other than that, they have all been close, tied at various points in the 4th quarter, and just flat out fun, which is a blessing as I feel like I've been through hell and back with this game.

Re: rspencer86's 2K10 Sliders and Settings

I think after this one last post, I can probably shut up about how impressed I am by these sliders, at least for a few days.

I just took the Lakers, my favorite team that I could never use in this game, because I would obliterate any team with them. Part of that is knowing the team so well, and the other part is, let's face it, their starting 5 is stacked and they have a top 3 6th man, not to mention Shannon Brown.

So I finally got to use them, I was thinking okay, I'll go against a really great team that way I can definitely get a good game. Then I was like wait, so far I have gotten competitive games no matter what teams I use. I mean, I lost as the Celtics a few days ago.

So I used the Lakers as the away team, and picked the Raptors as the home team. I was down by 4 after the 1st quarter, down 8 at halftime, tied at the end of the 3rd, and won 95-92.

That just clinched it for me. The Raptors stayed competitive with the Lakers, and had me on my heels most of the game. Had I not closed the 3rd quarter on an 8-0 run and had that momentum carry over to the beginning of the 4th, I would've undoubtedly lost the game. Kobe was Kobe, Pau was Pau, Fisher hit 2 clutch 3's that put me in the lead for good. And it is so good to know that I can actually start an association with the Lakers and not go 82-0.

The greatest thing was seeing the Raptors play very true to form, gave it to Bosh a lot, and he finished with 28 points. Typically, or should I say, before this slider and roster set. I could play against the T*wolves, and i would see them go to Milicic more than Al Jefferson or Kevin Love. So after playing the Magic twice and now the Raptors, it's really great to see them go to their star player, no matter what position they play.

Anyway, I know there are others like me who got really sick of never losing, being able to walk over everyone, trade your good players away to make an average team just so you might lose more than 3 games in a season, etc. So if any of that fits you and you haven't tried these sliders and rosters yet, do yourself a favor and load em up.

Re: rspencer86's 2K10 Sliders and Settings

Imo these sliders lead to cpu being static in the offensive end.Trying to get realistic stats by killing player movement is wrong.I'll explain:
          - Three sliders are crucial for player movement.Quickness-Backdoor cuts-Game speed.Lowering these values below default 50 leads to less movement/animations and makes cpu offense predictable.
          - Balancing sliders is again wrong.Having inside at 0 and post 100/attack basket 100 destroys players attributes.
          - Offensive Awareness for cpu must stay at 50 otherwise you'll see cpu players dribbling all over without obvious reasons.Balancing this again with attack basket at 100 makes big men trying to drive from the FT line.
Don't get me wrong, these sliders in overall are good.I just suggest the above changes for better cpu movement.
Also, game is "designed" to play best with silder values near the default 50(except shooting %, blocking,DiT and a couple other sliders that don't affect movement) on Pro.

I couldn't disagree more. With the combination of his coaching profile edit, the players actually use more movement off-ball rather than just running isolation every play or running the same quick play every time. They play offense more like the real team, less like their all the same fast break oriented team. I had to make some minor tweaks for my playing ability (this is my first 2K basketball game since NBA 2K2, so yeah haha) but other than that, these work perfectly well. Better than default BECAUSE of the movement, rather than hampering the movement.

I basically turned up the User Help Defense to 50, left the CPU all normal. Turned up the user inside and close shots to 45, mid and three point at 50. And then to make it not so lop-sided against the CPU, I turned them up slightly, but not anymore than the user settings. That was about it, I do believe.

Im not seeing much of the Big Men Factor. These sliders r great for the Superstars (LeBron, Kobe, Wade) and guards, but Im not seeing much of a dominate post play. I was playing against the Rockets and Yao only put up 8 shots. Is there anyway to get more Big Men production?

I was thinking if I lower attack the basket, the might start dumping the ball inside more but idk. I need some help on this one.
                  Forget Kobe & LeBron!

                  Dwayne Wade is the G.O.AT.!!

I have decided to give 2K10 one more shot due to the fact that so many are bragging about these sliders....I usually just play seasons and I am playing 10 minute quarters with these. I will let you know what I think.

                    thanks rspencer!

I think my work on revising the coach profiles will help this a lot. The base I used for the coaching sliders had the mid range slider at 75 or so for almost every team (since the CPU needed to be coaxed to take contested jumpshots since the defense sticks so close to everyone with a lot of other slider sets).

I've used real data from 82games.com to redo some of these coaching profile sliders, which should help the issue you described. I'm in Dallas for work until tomorrow night, so I'll try to get these posted Wednesday.

OK I had a great game against the Spurs playing the bulls in a new season. I lost 111-104 but it was very competitive... Here are some links to the results:

My only concern is that you will notice quarters 3 and 4 how lopsided it is from one quarter to the next. I see that in a lot of my games.

I like the sliders so far, thanks rspencer!

(for example, i have a few different sets saved - ie. historic. it won't touch those if i put in the updates, will it?).

Too much uncharted 2 and Red Dead, plus it just took a lot of adjusting to find a set that worked for me.

About 98% sure that they're tied to the rosters since you can't save Coaching Profiles to their own save file.
