Re: Official NBA Offseason/Player Movement Thread

Hedo is going to get a huge payday, more than likely it's going to be about 12 Mill for about 4-6 years from Toronto. He'll be a productive player for a while, as well, because his game doesn't rely on speed and quickness, but rather his superior size and his shooting ability.

As for the Magic, as I said in the VC thread, I do not think the Magic get past the Celtics if they do not have Hedo and have VC instead. Carter takes away any size advantage that the Magic had with Hedo and you can see smaller guards guarding Carter.

I'm not going to say this makes the Magic noticeably worse, but it does weaken them, replacing Hedo with Carter and also losing a productive Lee, and both of your back up centers. The Magic bench has taken the biggest hit, as they now do not have one scorer off the bench, nor do they have any sort of quality big man. We'll see what they do in FA, but they are really going to be hurt by Pietrus now in the starting lineup rather than coming off the bench.

Carter plays a lot bigger than his size and I think that's something people have overlooked with him while he was in Jersey.

Actually, I think Carter plays much smaller for his size because he doesn't drive like he used to.

I've been confused as to what the purpose of this thread is.

I mean, what is the point when we are still posting threads about player movement, rumors, and their implications outside of this thread?

It's kinda hard to keep up with all the trades if you haven't been on OS for a while, so maybe you could update your first post PackMan with the all trades that have been completed and the ones that have been rumoured.

Magic are after Bass and Sheed. Looks like no Hedo, though.

Jameer, VC, Shard, Sheed and Dwight is a nice starting 5. Anthony Johnson, JJ, Pietrus, Anderson and Bass is a solid bench, too. It will change our identity a bit, but solves the issues we have with depth.

EDIT - Also, I'm going to be following Shaun Livingston in the free agency this year. I'd love for this guy to come to Orlando and revive his career, bringing size off the bench.

Do you have a link for this Hedo to TOR claim?

I've been hearing a lot of talk about Hedo going to Toronto though, but I can't remember where.

It's been known since mid season that we want Hedo...

Personally, Hedo or Marion one or the other will be huge for us...I just really hope we get Marquis Daniels somehow.

Much, much, MUCH more likely that the Cavaliers will go after Charlie Villanueva if he does not get a QO.
