    Re: 2023 Offseason Thread

Not sure what this could mean or if it's good/bad news for the Raptors, but OG Anunoby is 1 year away from being a FA and he's about to leave Klutch Sports. Raptors have been talking with Klutch a lot lately since VanVleet is a FA.

Could he be seeing things aren't getting done and doesn't like how negotiations have gone on VanVleets side and wants different representation for himself when his time comes for a new deal.

You might be reading too much into the situation, Maj.

He likely just wants the best deal for himself and feels like might not make that happen. They've been a bit hit-or-miss in getting guys the bag lately, IMO.

The Raptors aren't "allowed" to begin negotiations with VanVleet until the moratorium period, I believe. And I doubt they would make OG privy to any negotiations with his teammates (unless he was an upper-tier star).

Plus, it would make sense to move OG this offseason instead of waiting for him to hit free agency. Will he be restricted or unrestricted next offseason?

I think OG is a UFA. He has a PO next year which he's declining, and he'd be a UFA in 2025, so I'd imagine if he declines his PO he'd also be a UFA in 2024?

Even though they're not "allowed", we all know what really happens. Latest I read says the Rockets could be real interested, possibly doing 4 years.

          You’re a chronic overthinker, aren’t you?

I think you’re just reading into this way to deeply, lol. Either that or you’re hungry for some nba transaction news lol.

I'm familiar with the symptoms he is exhibiting. Its rumor mill fatigue.

Toronto fans have been waiting for so long for these rumors to amount to something that he is starting to see hidden stories where none exist.
Quite a few Ravens fans started to do the same throughout the Lamar ordeal

Reason why I stay away from rumors. I'm just not good at them. I try to stay on court stuff.

He only has a player option for the next offseason, not this one, so he's essentially an expiring contract if he declines it (next year).

The Raptors still control his rights, so they can move him if they find a good deal.

I'd move him to create space in the rotation and acquire some draft capital.

It tends to lead to disappointment. As fans we generally overvalue our team's players, so when we dive down that potential trades/moves rabbithole we just set ourselves up to be let down.

Please come talk to Bulls fans. They're all about to jump off a cliff cause they think Portland was gonna trade the 3, Simons and Sharpe for Zach Lavine so the front office is horrible because they've been listening to these idiots that pop up every offseason and trade deadline with their fake *** rumors

Yea it appears to be like that in every fan base. They want to bring in all star caliber players without giving up anything and always want to keep the young guys. This offseason for Atlanta it started with Jaylen Brown and now its Pascal.

NBA Twitter has made Dame Talk unbearable.

Also proves once again how hypocritical we are too when it comes to discussing players and what they should/shouldn’t do.

Lowry could be waived if Heat don't find a trade for him.

I wonder where he'd wind up. Philly has to be the obvious guess. Playing for his old coach in Nurse and going home.

                            More Offseason News for y’all:

Early signings and trades could have a trickle-down effect on the opportunities for Kyle Kuzma, Grant Williams, Harrison Barnes and Austin Reaves.

I wouldn't mind Lowry as a backup PG, on the Vet min though. I rather spend the TPMLE on a wing. It feels like besides a brief George Hill period, Sixers haven't had a true back PG since TJ McConnell left for Pacers Sixers have been running with Shake Milton and Furkan Korkmaz as the primary backup PG the last several years. Lowry would likely be the 4th guard off the bench. But, I think it'll be a good idea to have Lowry be a regular season innings eater. Harden and Maxey played about 38 mins a game last couple years. If they can cut Harden and Maxey to about 32-35 minutes in the regular season.

If he has the same offset language that CP3's contract did, I would imagine the Bucks would be interested.
