Definitely. Was talking about this the other week after the PGA/LIV "merger" - when the next dominos (NFL & NBA) would fall.
    Rice Owls - Houston Astros/Dynamo/Rockets/Texans - Arsenal - PSG

"There’s growing sentiment Toronto star Pascal Siakam — who’s on an expiring deal — would not re-sign with a team who attempts to trade for him as his preference is to remain with the Raptors, sources tell @NBAonTNT, @BleacherReport."
I do think Toronto needs to do a retooling of their roster.

With the prices of teams going up, I do see them trying to buy teams in the major sports in the next set of openings

The thing is though, if Siakam and OG stays, what do you do with Scottie? All 3 are forwards, Scottie being the only of the 3 who plays SF and PF. OG was moved to SG for half the time this past season, but since Trent seems to be staying now, you aren't doing that again.

Someone has to move at this point, and a PG is your top need with FVV gone. OG being moved in a deal for the 3rd pick did seem like the best move if you get Scoot with that pick. Scottie goes to SF, Scoot slides in as your #1 PG (maybe bring in a cheap FA vet PG to help him out/mentor him).

Unless those picks turn into championship players. I'm just not behind this trade. KP he's good player. But not a championship type of player. We still treating him like his pre Knicks days lol. Worst trade.
Jeebs what is a championship type player? His health is always going to be an area of concern, but he's going to add a lot to their offense.

I've just seen a lot of sentiment online on their books being clear and how good of a shape they are now with cap space yadda yadda. Cap space means nothing for a team like Washington who isn't getting stars signing there anyway. They've moved off assets right now and gotten cap space moving forward and nothing really valuable as far as draft capital. They're basically in a position to get stuck overpaying mid players again and hoping their own picks are top 5 picks to land the star they'll never be able to sign.

I know it's all doom and gloom sounding, I think the NBA system of some teams just being destined to be stuck in the middle of the pack or worse is just beating me down today.
I'm starting to like the moves the Wizards made more and more. No, they aren't sexy moves. If you look at each one individually they may be a bit underwhelming.

But when I look at all the moves in totality, it looks like there is a plan there. That alone is a nice change of pace.

This isn't a former title contender that had valuable assets entering a rebuild. This is a lottery team, they weren't going to get a lot of draft capitol back no matter how much they shopped for trades.

Sucks from a purely 'American' POV (foreign entities controlling US sports), but it was inevitable with the Saudis buying/merger with the PGA & Ted wanting to buy the Nats. Don't be surprised if they'll have part ownership with them once that (hypothetical) deal goes through.

Yeah, I do think OG is the likely guy to be traded. He's on a good contract and is plug and play wing. I do think FVV is likely gone as well, whether that is Houston, Philly, or Spurs.

I just have the feeling that Scoot ends up being drafted #2 whether that is by Charlotte or a trade. I feel there's too much buzz about a potential trade up for Scoot for Charlotte to not take advantage of it, unless they really love Miller. I do feel that if Scoot goes #2, that would really affect how the draft plays out. So much of the top part of the draft buzz was about Portland trading the rights of Scoot to a team for a vet. I don't think they will get as much as they could for Miller as they could with Scoot

I feel like the NFL is the one league that will try to fight any outside entity/country attempting to dip their toes in the league’s pool.

I want no part of VanVleet on the Spurs. It would cost too much to acquire him, plus he's undersized & more of a 'scorer' than a facilitator.

And you add on when he said "**** Pop" during the Raptors championship parade. Nah, I'd rather they bring back Tre and find a scoring PG tonight or in free-agency.

I love that it seems like half of NBA Twitter is: "Let (insert name) cook", followed by a 30 second clip of highlights from a random player

It never fails to make me laugh. Just saw one for Rob Pelinka
                      OSHA Inspector for the NBA.

                        Definitely agree!

My thought would be - hosting a regular season game in a domed stadium once a year - similar to when the WWE holds a PPV or the annual NFL game in Germany. Probably would be a blank check for one regular season game.

                        Don’t think it’s likely, but C.R.E.A.M.

Oh and just to clarify, by country/entity I mean Middle East and probably include China.

Europe they’ll be cool with lol

Usually a player that can contribute immediately. They don't have a high ceiling. They play defense and Hustle. Moments aren't too big for them because they have seen it all. Played in a lot high pressure games.

Multiple deep Tournament runs. Probably being over looked by most people. Probably because they are not flashy. They are a few others in this draft. Probably will be picked in the second round.
