Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
It's looking pretty good bro. It's looking good. A bunch of people also now have to agree though lol. Was definitely a productive discussion. My main concern is whether the devs think the problems are worth trying to tackle in fear of hurting balance in other ways. I've given my opinion though (as most of us have in this thread). I really think there are a few select areas that are problematic enough that they really should be looked into and tweaked.Last edited by Serengeti1; 03-08-2018, 03:59 PM.Comment

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
The overhand counter in the original post is almost 100% effective every time, but it either doesn't work against ducks or doesn't work against them when they chain another sway after the initial counter. I haven't figured it out yet.Comment

Btw if there are doubts when the footage is reviewed about anything... I'm always down to do it and change the variables (like fighters or tactics). I'd be happy to discuss it further too if need be. Just putting that out there.Last edited by Serengeti1; 03-08-2018, 05:50 PM.Comment

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
So after spending my first full day playing since the patch dropped, i can genuinely say that i agree head movement spam is still a bit too effective. The counters I found work sometimes, but the risk for constant swaying is still not enough.
You can spam head movement rapidly with very little risk...but if you spam it 100 times and get 1 or 2 counter punches in, it can be a big reward. I can admit when i'm not right and have to change my outlook on something. Head movement can be punished....but i now agree that the risk of spamming it is just way too little.Lineup:

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
GPD keep in mind that if you do any other change to head movement like making counters slower instead of the stamina tax you will ruin the game making headmovement and countering useless to useComment

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
I wish the recovery frames were much larger for a blocked sway punch. That way if you see someone spamming it, you can simply block and they won't be able to move/strike/block or slip again for at least 1 full second after their punch is blocked. Then you are guaranteed to land 2 punches and counter them. That would discourage people from abusing it.
I'm curious to hear what solution Martial Mind and ZombieRommel came up with though.Lineup:

Yeah that's pretty bad. Very little risk for such a big reward.

you dont think that with a stamina tax head movements can be used less without ruining theyr power and making them useless? spamming is something done many times...if they do it 30 times and lose all stamina they will stop...Last edited by AlEx3KillA; 03-08-2018, 08:46 PM.Comment

Re: The strongest punishment to side sway spam
After some playing he seemed to think that the risk/reward on head movement was skewed also and that the punishment on sways is too inconsistent. Also agreed that it was too easy to sway the jab. The tax on stamina for someone who is missing a lot due to head movement spam was very evident too. And the fact that it causes the opponent to lose no stamina despite spamming it.
Not sure what's going to come from this or which fixes they'd like to implement most but hopefully we hear something soon.Last edited by Serengeti1; 03-08-2018, 10:24 PM.Comment
