In Hard-Fought Affair, Red Sox Emerge Victorious!!!!!

Boston wins close game against Seattle.

A home crowd of 33,710 fans witnessed the Red Sox win a tight 2-1 decision with the Mariners last night, giving the club a tough one-run victory. David Ortiz provided the offense, getting a pair of hits -- including a solo home run -- in 4 at-bats. Taking over for starter Jon Lester, David Aardsma earned his 2nd win of the season, allowing no runs and 1 hit in his 2 innings of relief work. In the game, Felix Hernandez recorded the 500th strikeout of his career.

The next game of the series is this afternoon, with Bartolo Colon (6-2, 4.21) going for the Red Sox and Erik Bedard (6-2, 3.45) scheduled to start for the Mariners.

No, me either. Hopefully it's fixed soon though. I like the colors in my setup, it sets apart things and makes it easier to follow.

The Orioles skipper mixed up the lineup, flip-flopping Melvin Mora and Nick Markakis. Nick, in his return from an injury, drove in his 25th RBI of the season right after Brian Roberts delivered a single of his own to give the O's the lead in the 5th. Aubrey Huff extended his hitting streak to 9 games and George Sherrill closed out the last 2/3 of the 9th to pick up save number 18. The two teams will decide the series tomorrow night at Rogers Center.

                    Up 2-0 And Thinking Sweep!!!!!

On the road, Angels secure another win, taking a 2-0 lead in the series.

Playing under the lights in front of 43,545 (mostly hostile) McAfee Coliseum fans, the Angels were able to secure an easy 7-2 win against the Athletics last night. Mike Napoli slugged a home run and drove in 3 runs, going 2-for-5 at the plate to lead the offense. Allowing 2 runs on 7 hits over 7.1 innings of work, while striking out 7, Kelvim Escobar was able to notch his 2nd win of the season.

Behind starting pitcher Ervin Santana (4-5, 2.85), the Angels look to complete a big road sweep against the Athletics this afternoon. Greg Smith (4-2, 3.75) gets the call for the Athletics.

McGowan goes the distance as Jays move closer to top of division.

Toronto, ON - In what was a series of phenomenal pitching, the Jays capped it with a complete game performance from Dustin McGowan. Dustin was one hitter away from a shutout, but managed to get the complete game, giving up only 1 run on 9 hits while recording 8 strikeouts on the evening. Alex Rios delivered a 3-run home run in the 2nd inning to extend a one run lead to four and that would be that, as the Orioles continue to lay in the basement of the AL East. The O's fly back to the states and head to Boston after an off day tomorrow.

Thanks man, to bad my team doesn't put as much effort in to playing the game as I do on recapping them. Hope to turn it around though, if not, I'm looking forward to year 2.

Thanks guys, but it's you guys that gives me the drive and reasons to make it what it is. If it ever gets stale or you'd like to see something different, feel free to PM me and let me know if it needs some spicing up or some changes.
