Pluck some feathers from the North!! I was hoping not to lose 90 games, but that's done. My goal is to win Huff the batting title. He's .002 behind Victor Martinez.

Good question there unexpectedorc. That is all computer generated, I'll have to go in and check up on all of that.

Sexson Picks Up RBI Number 1000!!!!!

Richie Sexson: Steady performer collects 1000th RBI in victory.

Playing under the lights last night at Safeco Field, the Mariners crushed the visiting Angels by a score of 10-1. Yuniesky Betancourt was the star at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a home run and 4 RBI's. It was a solid start for Carlos Silva, who went 7 innings and allowed 1 run, to pick up his 13th win of the season.

In the finale of the series tonight, Mariners ace Felix Hernandez (10-11, 3.59) will get the start against the Angels and Kelvim Escobar (10-6, 3.32). Torii Hunter looks to build on his 12-game hitting streak.

                    MLB Special Report!!!!!

                    3 Playoff Spots Remain!!!!!

2 Division titles and the NL Wild Card are still hanging in the balance going into the final series of the year. All eyes will be on out west in the American League as the Oakland Athletics head to Seattle with both teams tied for the division lead.

In the National League the Pittsburgh Pirates, who control their own destiny, are on the road in San Diego sitting 2 games in front of the St. Louis Cardinals who host the Cincinnati Reds. The Cardinals also are in control of their playoff lives, they can at least capture the wild card as they sit 1 game ahead of the Philadelphia Phillies who host the hapless Nationals.

Los Angeles Takes Out Division Rival!!!!!

Angels rout division rivals with win over Mariners.

The Angels earned a big 13-5 win on the road over the Mariners last night. Howie Kendrick had a clutch performance, getting 3 RBI's and banging out 3 hits in 5 at-bats to pace the offense. Kelvim Escobar gave up 5 runs and 10 hits over 6.2 innings of work, and that was good enough for him to record his 11th win of the season, and 4th in a row.

Up next for the Angels are the Rangers tonight at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, with John Lackey (12-9, 4.29) battling Eric Hurley (7-12, 4.81). Chone Figgins hopes to add to his 10-game hitting streak.

Just an update. I actually had some standings wrong in the last posts. St. Louis is 2 back of Pittsburgh and the Phillies are 1 back of the Cards for the wild card. I fixed it.

Halladay's horrible season ends in disaster as Patton shines!!!!!

Baltimore, MD - The Blue Jays and their fans have been scratching their heads all season at the performance of their ace Roy Halladay. Halladay entered his final start of the season sitting with a mind boggling record of 6-16. He would not fare well in this outing either as it only took 2 innings to determine Roy's fate for the night. Aubrey Huff touched up Halladay in the 1st with a 2-run home run and then in the 2nd, Brian Roberts and Nick Markakis delivered back-to-back jobs to push the Orioles out to a 5-0 lead. That would be all the O's rookie would need. Troy Patton went the distance, picking up his 2nd complete game and earning his 3rd win of the year, giving up 1 run on 6 hits and striking out 4 batters. The O's with the 5-1 victory are just 2 games removed from the off season and the anticipation is high in "Baseball City" for the Orioles to make some key moves and turn the corner.
