    25 Random League Wide Notes

    1. The only undefeated teams are UGA and Kansas State.

    2. They are no winless team Illinois, Eastern Michigan, East Carolina, New Mexico, UL Monroe have one win

    3. The top 5 for the Heisman is QB's Dillon Gabriel, Carson Beck, Jalen Milroe, Kaidon Salter and Minnestoa St WR Ryan Trinibad. Bo Whitely from the same screaming Eagles had been #1 most of the year

    4. Speaking of the Minnesota State Screaming Eagles they are 8-1 and ranked #22. They have a huge test this week @ Alabama

    5. The American conference could be decided this week Army (5-3) vs North Texas (5-3) the only 1 loss conference teams.

    6. The rebranded conference USA has a major surprise Wears Valley River Rats (Arkansas St) is 7-2. They don't have the division wrapped up as another one loss team (based off Green Acers show) also has 1 loss

    7. Kentucky QB Brock Vandagriff has been a surprise 2nd in passing yards and is just a junior. He has 2,955 yards, 27 & 4

    8. Bo Whitley from Minnesota State is a future Heisman winner just a freshman (should be a sophomore). He has 2,587 yards, 75% and 36/4

    9. Donovan Edwards and Omarion Hampton both have passed 1K rushing yards

    10. They are also battling it out for the rushing TD's lead and just 1 separating them

    11. Oklahoma WR Nic Anderson only a sophomore has 16 receiving TD's

    12. The WR of the year will be a battle with names like Hawaii Pofele Ashlock, Baylor Ketron Jackon, Hawaii Steven Mcbride and FSU Malik Benson

    13. Oregon Jordan Burch leads the nation with 13 sacks

    14. USC John Humphrey leads with 5 interceptions. Iowa has two in the top
    5

    15. Central Michigan MLB Nolan Ziegler leads with 76 tackles

    16. The #1 player in the nation is 6;2 WR Juan Cardoza from Arizona. He is only in the top 8 stage and USC leads followed by Colorado, Arizona, Arizona State and BYU

    17. They are five 5* QB's Alabama has one (B.J Duck), Texas has one and so does Ole Miss. UGA leads for Tavaris Bowe with Michigan and UF in the mix. The other is wide open with Syracuse surprising in the lead

    18. Of the two 5* prospects only one has committed Arizona State (Barry Ellis). The other is looking at California schools

    19. They are six 5* WR's and 0 TE's and none are committed. UGA has a chance to get 3 of them

    20. They are only five 5* OL and Michigan has two of them and the best one going to Arkansas. They are only five* on the DL and Auburn got a big one with the 5th overall player

    21. The 3 5* LB are all going to the SEC. A pretty deep DB class with six 5* and half of those at SS. UGA agian has a chance for two of those and also got a 5* CB

    22. UGA is currently the #1 class with three 5* and 10 4*. They are very much in the mix for about 5 more five *

    23. The top 10 rankings TCU is the biggest surprise being 4th. We don't see where they are in the mix for any 5* so we expect them to drop out of the top 10.

    24. If you like at 11-25 rankings I see Kentucky at 11 ahead of Bama and Texas. Then Siracuse at 20, SMU 22 and Vandy 25

    25. The bottom five teams in recruiting are Umass, Northwestern, Wears Valley, Hazzard and Kansas

Re: Retro Redemption - Starting over with a oldschool PowerBone Offense (CFB25)

      Week 11 vs UAB

      Win = Conference Champs

This is the biggest game of the year with the only two 1 loss teams in the conference. Army is still without some key defense starters like at DT and more importantly for the offense multi position player Noah Short. This is the game of that went by fast with Army's 200+ rushing yards and North Texas's near 200 yards. Then all of a sudden you look up and its crunch time and it's a 1 possession game. Army was again hampered by -3 in the turnover battle.

It's the 4 quarter and Army is down 6 points and on a long drive that took up most of the quarter. The plan was to score with under 1 minute and then make them use all of their timeouts. It's one of those situations where you can't get too excited because an FG on the other side beats you. The plan works FB Udoh scores on a 17-yard TD run. This was on a rarely called stretch play with him lined up at HB.

Remember it just takes a FG here and all Napier can do is watch as North Texas gets the ball 50 seconds and 0 timeouts. They hit a few pass plays and line up for a 52 yard FG. The kick is perfect and Army likely losses the conference and oh yea Notre Dame is next. Army definitely gave this one away and baring a major upset its 7-5 to finish Napier's first year as OC.

This loss hurt the worst one of the season and after the game Napier admitted " I was to conservative and let Noah not being out there at WR effect my play calling" . When you add in losing the turnover battle and some bad luck on the final drive its a tough pill to swallow.

We have talked in a previous article about the first 3 commits we got which were 3 of the first 5 must have. We will now focus on the next 11 commits we got. We are very excited about the class we have brought in as we needed to get to about 30 commits. We laid a plan of OL/DL/ HB as our 3-attention area's and it's worked out.

        QB Juan Corp
Key Ratings - 84 THP, 82 AGI, 71 BREAK SACK
The improviser QB just has 86 speed and mid 80's throw power. We liked his 80+ throw on the run and agility and good accuracy on throwing. We are crossing our fingers he has some upside for power and running. He could be the #2 QB next year

        HB Tevin Hocker
        Key Ratings = 89 speed, 80 strength, 80 trucking
He was in our 5 must have guys which we ended up getting all of them. The 224 pound power back has some really good speed to go along with the power. We love his size and speed and we expect him to get a ton of carries next year.

        OT Austin Baugher
Key Ratings = 85 STR, 74 run power, 64 run block
We gave up on him and then the other offers fall off and we end up getting him. He has the strength and 6'7 frame with 2 mental abilities and will at worst be 2nd team next year.

        OT Carl Vaughn
Key Ratings = 83 strength, 66 run block, 78 impact block
Another player with size and strength (83) at 6'6 and 321. We don't see him a starting next year more of a depth piece for the future. However is impack blocking is pretty good.

        OT Bobby Biggers
Key Ratings = 84 strength, 69 run block, 68 run block power
Another big one at 6'6 324 that we feel can play as a true freshman.

        D.J Zimmer
Key Ratings = 81 strength, 68 run block, 69 run block power
His 81 strength to us means he will not be counted on to play for at least 1-year prob 2. He will need time to develop but we had to sign 10 OL commits this year.

        C Rob Cobbs
Key Ratings = 83 strength, 78 run block finesse, 70 speed
Rob is the lone none power OL we got a commit from so much faster than anyone else. We couldn't find any power C's we liked and Rob still has the 80+ strength which is a must. We have a excellent starting C that's a sophomore and his backup returns so Rob will not be needing to play for a few years. This is a bit of a experiment to see if he can improve the power blocking skills. This also allows us to play the amazing looking jumbo athlete Connor Ramsour at DT instead of C

        OG Taylor Romero
Key Ratings = 85 strength, 66 run block, 67 run block power
Another one that checks out what we want in a OL 333 pounds with 85 strength. How much he plays hinges on dev trait as both OG spots are wide open

        DE / ATH Jose Harris
        Key Ratings = 79 spd, 85 strength, 75 pursuit
At 6'5 258 pounds maybe we kick the tires on him at TE. However DE is his natural spot and its a major need. He has the size, strength and speed to be a great pass rusher and has 2 mental badges.

        DT Lenard Gumbs
Key Ratings = 88 strength, 63 block shed, 76 tackle
The 304 pounder has amazing strength and we could have used him vs Air Force a few weeks ago. Not going to be a pass rusher, but his job will be to stop the run.

        DT / ATH Connor Ramsour
Key Ratings = 88 strength, 78 impact block, 78 speed
He is officially a C, but we think we have a absolute steal in this guy despite not being a gem. A 293 pounder with 88 strength and 78 speed? We can't let him just block we got to have someone like that going after the QB. We are intrigued to open up the cross-training badge at some point in a few years. If he comes with a dev trait and upside watch out.

        LB / ATH Oscar Lamm = 87 spd , 85 acc, 83 strength
Officially a HB, but we got 2 commits already and lead for 2 more. This means he likely ends up at LB as we need a stud at that position. While his speed at HB is pretty good its by far the fastest LB we would have on the. We team. We can't see his defense skills, but has the size for LB

        Up Next

        2* DT Major Mustard
A near lock to commit next week and another much needed body at DT. The run stopper is small at just 282 pounds and comes with the team player badge.

2* OLB / DE Sam Virgin
We are counting on a bump moving the power rusher to DE from OLB since he has the size at 6'3 256. The 82 acceleration and 70's for most ratings seems like a solid prospect. If we are being honest we just went after him because one of my best friends name is Sam who is also a virgin lol

        ATH / TE Juan Bautista
We aren't sure if he will play TE or WE and should commit to us this week. He is small for a TE at just 6'2 and 215. Since he has blocking skills listed in his top 10 we hope he is ok at WR.

          Week 13 vs Notre Dame

          3 Straight Losses

Another game that doesn't need a long recap as what was expected Army got beat bad by Notre Dame 31 to 14. The run game just couldn't get going and going up vs the elite talent of Notre Dame. The turnover problem was a little bit better with just 2. But Army isn't beating a good team when it just gets 2 yards a carry. The backup QB Bolden who is next year's starter saw his most action of the year because a injury. Notre Dame ran the ball well with their own backup QB in the game so the time of possession was pretty even as well. It's now two must win games for Army to get to 7 wins and reach a bowl game. North Texas did get upset by East Carolina so the conference race is still possible.

This was a ugly game thankfully the Army defense dominated to keep Army hanging on. With just 5 minutes to go in the game it was tied and Army has the ball past the 50. A 1-yard TD by Army set up by a pass from new speedy slot WR. With just 3 minutes to go in the game Army gets the ball looking to run out the clock. It was 3rd and 10 and Udoh picks up the 1st and Army has a ugly 17-10 win.

Army did run for over 300 yards with another balanced effort and 0 turnovers. You would like to see more points, but after 3 straight losses you will take this heading into the rival Navy who has just a few wins.

              5 Big Army Stories

Gem FB Found, Short & Napier Staying & More

              Napier Signs Extension
We expected Billy would be at Army for at least 2 years and that has been confirmed as he signs a 1-year extension today. The goal next year is 8 wins and with losing about 30 players that will be tall task.

              Army Makes Conference Championship game
Before the Navy game it was confirmed Army and Memphis will play for the American championship game. While Army has 5 loses already, 3 of those are out of conference. Memphis has a prolific passing attack and will be favored in this game

              Gem FB Discovered
We divide our FB position up into 2 the B back which doubles as a power HB and more of a runner. Then then block 1st FB who doesn't carry the ball much. We are 3 deep next year at the position still we wanted one more blocker and just haven't had the hours to scout anyone. Thankfully the 1st FB we scouted is a gem so we can remove the other 2 from our board. We aren't in his top 10 at the moment, but with no offers we think we will shoot up the rankings

His 79 strength and 75 lead block is impressive and 64 run block is on par with OL. The best news is since he is a gem he is likely to have a dev trait and a lot of upside. If he can get some upside in his 70 carrying and 75 trucking he could play both FB spots. We aren't expecting to see much speed.

              Short Not Transferring
The game vs Navy and then the conference championship game has took WR Noah Short off the potential transfer list. Army saw that school grade go up and can take a big sigh of relief for this one. Noah is out for the year and maybe he could even get moved to the #1 HB spot next year.

Playoff Bracket and Conference Championship Preview

                Week 15 vs Navy

                Army - Navy

The roles were reversed as Navy get the ball 1st takes up half the quarter and scores a TD. A option TD from the 4th string HB makes it 8-7 as the head coach like usual goes for 2. The end of the half Napier calls a beautiful drive wasting clock and then the head coach doesn't kick the FG and this caused words between them. Army was up 15 to 13 at half

This time Army did kick the FG and missed a easy one leaving points on the board. Fast forward to 5 minutes remaining in the game Army is down 1 and its 4th and inches. Army is in a QB sneak from the Maryland I and doesn't like the look and audibles the power and barely picks up the 1st. Backup B Back Hayden Reed would go on to score a TD. Army gets the ball back up 7 and just needing to waste 3 minutes of clock. Several flags would ruin the drive and force a punt. A swap of TD's without the Army offense on the field would happen. Eventually Army gets the ball back and just 30 seconds to go however Navy had all 3 timeout. Army can't run the time out and Navy gets it back and hits a few pass plays. Thankfully they ruin out of time and another barley squeezed out win by Army

Army played mistake free football, but the huge talent gap difference was too much for Army to overcome. This was despite a blocked punt starting 1 drive at the 2-yard line. The Memphis front 7 was in the backfield all game line. Army has a up and down season with 1 more win then the previous year.

Man the higher ups don't want Army winning a lot of games first Oregon instead of a 1-AA team. Then the 14th ranked UNC with the Doak Walker award winner. As you would expect UNC wins this was easy 38 to 21. Army moved the ball well just 53 yards wore but lost the turnover battle again by 3. Not the way we wanted senior QB Bryson Dailey to go out. Senior HB Tyrell Robinson does go out in style 125 yards on just 10 carries. B back Udoh has 2 TD's. We now can turn our attention over to replacing 30 seniors. UNC HB Omari Hampton has 128 yards and 3 TD's + 52 receiving yards to win the Boca Raton bowl

2024 National Recruiting & Transfer Rankings

                      #10 Alabama
A smaller class compared to others and a pretty disappointing one compared to usual as they lost pretty much every battle with UGA. They did way better with transfers (6th) then high schoolers (23rd). They went heavy DB room with transfers all four 4* were DB as well as two more 3* CB's. They only landed one 5* and its QB B.J Duck. They only signed 14 high schoolers and the only other two in the top 100 is HB James Bass and C Kareem Ezeudu. The 4th highest high schooler commit is another QB Nate Jaimes

                      #9 Oregon
They did their work in high school only getting six transfers so not in the top 20. The biggest name of those is former UGA starting LT Earnest Greene and 3 MLB. A odd class with zero 5* and 3 top 100 players lead by OT Leon Strickland, LB Manu Session, CB Azeez Ogbu. This class was light on skill players with the top one being outside the top 200 in Iosefa Manuwai

                      #8 Tennesse
Just 3 transfers ranking 65th lead by TE Roush and another team without a 5*. They got 4 top 100 players WR Kasheem Bivens, OG Tim Gentry, WR Zac Gastineau and 6'5 TE Skylar Barnes. They got 3 DT's ranked between 100 and 150 and two 4* QB's despite a young star

                      #7 Ohio State
They just had the 20th class for recruits, but the #1 transfer class. The two 5* they got CB Scotty Feeley and S Philip Tripp. They had zero need for a QB still got high 4* Charlie Townsend then CB High Hajrullahu and OT Ladarius Pullard. It wasn't all sunshine in the portal as they lost 5* Caleb Downs. They are hoarding QB's as they land Penn State transfer Drew Allar and Evan Simon. This makes their 7th QB on the roster, but 3 of those are seniors. They get 12th ranked WR Ellijah Stewart, Connor Tollison and MLB Dylan Hazen all 4*

                      #6 Auburn
They had a balanced approach with top 10 in both with one 5*. That was 5th overall recruit DE Scotty Hahn. They got 3 more top 100 recruits CB Davonte Longacre, TE Dwayne Maples and MLB Montell Kush. They have desperately needed a QB for years and got two 4* field General's Randy Emery and Jose Vilain. They didn't go QB transfer route instead two HB's in the top 20 Jamal Haynes from GT and Jalen White Georgia Southern.

                      #5 Miami
They go the high school route just 38th in transfers with three 4* lead by CB Devin Moore from UF and the #1 DE C.J Bazile from Buffalo. The top ranked guy 5* Antoine Shembo at 6'6 252 looks like a stud and ranked 14th overall. 33rd ranked Antoine Shembo that looks to be a WR and CB Antonio Pilgrim. A lot of depth here with 17 4* recruit. They got two QB's one of them a 3* so a lot of pressure on 4* Manu Hart.

                      #4 Notre Dame
A very small transfer class just 4 players with 3 of those being 4* in the top 50 lead by S Javon Mcintrye from Pitt. A crazy amount of depth with 23 4* and signed more 4* then anyone. The lone 5* is 6'5 athlete / WR / QB Hudson Schlauderaff the 24th ranked player. This was a weak DE class and they got #1 Ramon Witt and 39th overall LB D'Angelo Rambo. Unless they move someone the QB's they signed 325th and 927th ranked a potential big issue as currently it's a 80 overall starting. They are set at HB bringing on three 4* and CB four 4*.

                      #3 Michigan
They were 13th in transfers nabbing 9 but those 7 of those 3* lead by Illinois C Josh Kruetz and HB from Western Michigan Jalen Buckley. They had the 2nd most 5* in the country with a pair of OT's James Mcclease and Quintin Awosika and then 6'5 WR Cliff Murphey. They had 2 more top 100 guys HB Ben Kosier and DE Bryce Bettis. The only QB they got is a 3* and ranked 1,804 in Jimmy Bloom

                      #2 Texas
A small class just 24 players and still pulled the 2nd ranking with 8 of those in the portal. It was lead by 4*'s from LSU stud OT Emery Jones, BU S Micah Harper and 1,000 yard Hawaii WR Pofele Ashlock. In the past we have saw Texas load up with QB's this time it was a little more realistic with future starter 5* Jamerson Daniels then a 4* recruit and 3* veteran transfer from BYU

                      #1 UGA
This is without a doubt the best recruiting class in the history of college football and anything other than 2 national titles in 5 years is a disappointment. They were 32 5* recruits and UGA signed a whopping 10 of them a record. The WR for UGA have always been above average yet nothing special. Well, they signed 3 five stars including the 11th and 16th ranked recruits so that could be changing. The biggest freak in the entire class. Pat Allman 6-6 with 97 speed and the 3rd ranked player overall. Ty Gale a 6'2 CB with 94 speed and S Mitchell Metzger with 95 speed are both in the top 10 overall. Tavaris Bowe a big 6'5 222 pounder will redshirt and start maybe next year can throw and run. Rounding out the 5* is 323 pound DT Danny Causey, another S Dexter Flanagan, DE Clayton Sermon and OT Earl Candidate. They also added 19 4* to the mix as well with 6 of them being OL and another QB. We aren't down as they added the #1 transfer the one that got away last year S Caleb Downs from OSU. Arguably The best overall player in the country and speedy from Texas WR Isaiah Bond and three more 4* transfers

We wasn't sure how to cover a signing class with 34 commits. Even though we are just playing offense we had 15 players on that side of the ball. We will go over the top impact names on offense and then a overview on defense. Despite the 112th ranking recruiting class we like what we have done

                        QB Juan Corp (60 ovr)
                        Spoiler

Juan was the only real QB Army scouted and was a bit of a gamble as he wasn't fast or a strong arm and doesn't have the power we look for. He is the #3 QB this year and the plan is to let him develop for 2 years and push for the starting job year 3. His 76/85/82 speed ratings is solid and does have some upside in agility. His power/accuracy needs to improve. We want to get him some mop up duty this year. We like a QB in 2025 and if we get him Juan could be a career backup.

                        HB Tevin Hocker (64 ovr)
                        Spoiler

Only a 2* was a must get and has a higher rating then the 3*. He has 89 speed and 80 strength and trucking at 224 pounds so we like him as a power back. He does have limited upside so not much room to grow on the main areas outside of elusiveness. Despite losing 4 HB's the battle for carries is tough this year. He will be in the mix from the start. The battle with the 3* comes down to him being faster speed and then slower agility and acceleration

                        HB Tony Keyes (63 ovr)
                        Spoiler

The only 3* non FB we signed comes in 1-point lower rating then the 2*. They are similar players and Keyes will now be the #2 HB as speedy WR Noah Short has been moved over to the #1. Despite being slower then Hocker (86) we think his acceleration and agility makes up for that. Its basically a wash from the power side of things. Not a lot of room for improvement where it matters outside of a little power for the 234 pounder.

                        FB Pat Skool (67 ovr)
                        Spoiler

Maybe the favorite player we signed a 3* gem blocking FB. Army is loaded at the position so outside of injury will not play much. He will play the blocking FB part and is already good at that with room to grow. He has mid 70's in speed so not bad and maybe that tops out at around 80. He should be able to carry it pretty well for a blocker. We love his strength and blocking.

                        WR Juan Bautista (52 ovr)
                        Spoiler

He was suppose to be a athletic TE and we decided to play him at WR. We wanted a blocker for the position and that will be enough to make him #5 WR despite the low overall. His 82/78/79 speed isn't bad and with room to grow that should be just fine. His blocking also can get better so if that happens he could be a 3 year starter. The route running is rough at this time, but the blocking will get him on the field. He is the strongest WR on the team.

                        WR Matt Overbaugh (63 ovr)
                        Spoiler

We also want to highlight the disappointing players we signed and Matt falls into that. A 6'3 physical WR with 88 speed and 90 jumping with impact development. When we saw his blocking was 3rd highest on the team as a true freshman we got excited. However is potential isn't as high as we would have liked. We still project him to be a 2 year starter and the #3 WR this year. We don't think he will be a game changer like we thought.

                        TE Mohammad Strong (61 ovr)
                        Spoiler

Mohammad was found later in the year and we fell in love. The TE room is bare bones and he will start game 1 despite not being the highest overall. He is 6'3 254 pounds with 69 speed, but his blocking is why he will start. He has 64 run block just barely off the top spot on the team. His 79 strength is easily the best on the team. How can you not like a strong blocking TE whose last name is strong ? His overall isn't going to get a ton higher, but has room to grow in blocking and that's what matters to us

                        OT Joel Godfrey (61 ovr)
                        Spoiler

The former 2* could be the first round 1 recruit we got that's how much we think he will develop. Thats why we are throwing him to the wolves as the starting LT to take advantage of the impact development. Already an 85 strength with 4 bars of potential we could easily see that being mid 90's. Just a ton of potential at all areas and since we have OL training, we think he can reach 90+ overall. Also has the size at 6'6 and 324 pounds

                        OT Austin Baugher (65 ovr)
                        Spoiler

Austin has the higher overall then Joel, but will be 2nd string this year. That being because he is normal dev and doesn't have the upside in power. We do really like him and expect him to be a 3-year starter. If an injury happens could play more than expected.

                        OG Taylor Romero (59 ovr)
                        Spoiler

We signed double digit OL this year and wanted to highlight just a few and Taylor is going to be a stud. He will also start game 1, however if the offense struggles we could go with the higher rated senior. At 6'2 and 333 pounds as 85 strength that should get to the 90's. A ton of potential in every area and we think will be a 4 year starter. His overall is low now we think will be in the 80's by year 3.

                          Army's 2025 Recruiting Board

Last year we did out 5 five must have recruits and got all of them so let's see if we can duplicate that. We have some house rules still in place we did expand the # of 3* targets we can do this year from 3 to 5. This year the players interested in us from the start was way higher. We had to convince 2* to come to us last year and this year a bunch of 3* had us in top 10. So that rules coming into effect made for some tough calls.

OT Sam Ojomo - 3* Gem
Even after a heavy OL class last year we had OT/OG as a mild need as depth is still a issue. We had another jumbo athlete for the 5th 3* spot and decided to make the change at the last minute and we are glad we did as the 3* is a gem. He comes in at amazing 87 strength, 81 impact block and 77 run block power is 6'6 319 pounds with 2 mental abilities. Navy and Western Michigan are also in on him and he is from near by New York. Napier said OL was priority #1 and Ojomo would be a huge get.

                          QB Amari Kern- 3*
A huge sigh of relief as so far Army is his only offer and a potential huge get for Napier as he needs a QB of the future. The scrambler's straight line speed is only 78 so hoping that can improve as his acceleration is 86. You see mid 70's in a lot of key stats like accuracy, break sack and BC vision. What sets him apart is his 89 arm strength. That type of guy you cross your fingers has a dev trait and upside.

                          HB Nathan Rachal- 3* gem
We couldn't help ourselves we signed 4 HB's last year so it wasn't a need. However Nathan was a athlete so we told ourselves he could play FB or LB at 234 pounds. He was also on the higher side of 3* in the 600's and thankfully he was a gem. We have his running back stats and they are impressive 91 speed, 89 acceleration, 83 agility, 82 strength, 79 truck and 83 carrying. The only other offer he has is a team we are a little better then and he wants playing time and we are A+ in that area. This puts some pressure on the true freshman HB's to play well so we can us his talents at another position

                          ATH Parker Slater - 3*
The agile jumbo athlete at 6'3 and 308 pounds we prob play at C as we signed 4 DT's last year. An amazing 89 strength and 80 impact block with a 72 speed. We grade out in the A's for 2 things we like so we have a real shot at him. The one obstacle is the bigger school Rutgers as he is from New York. Brady Small potential could go pro as a junior making this a real need

                          ATH Rich England - 2*
A elusive HB / Athlete with 90 speed and 88 change of direction at only a 2*. Since we are deep at HB we like him at CB since he is 6'1 and 204 and that's a major need for us. We will have to battle with Georgia Tech so a long way to go for him

                          ATH Devante Bradbury - 2*
Another power back that we love at 5'9 and 225 pounds with 80 strength and 79 trucking. A real burner with 90 speed and 89 acceleration means he could play HB, FB, B back on that side of the ball. We kind of like him as LB and could use a playmaker next year at MLB

                          Other Active Recruits
                          MLB Ja'Quan Egnew -2* - major need
MLB Steve Balducci - 2* - Major need
TE/ ATH Wes Mcdaniels - 3* - 85 agility athlete with blocking ability
C/ ATH John Rains - Similar player as Parker Slater would give us options
CB John Raines - 2* - Speedy 6'1 CB with 2 other offers

                            QB
The drop off from Bryson Dailey isn't as big as expected as he turned the ball over a lot. Junior Mitchell Bolden (69 ovr) will get the start game 1 and he is very similar player to Dailey so expect more of the same. His speed is the same at 81, but he does have 91 agility, 89 change of direction and 86 acceleration so a little more shifty. He does have untapped potential with a lot of room to grow in both power (4 bars), quickness (3 bars). IQ (5 bars) and accuracy (4 bars). He really needs to stay healthy and ease its way in and hopefully reach his potential going into next year. He is much stronger and more break tackle then #2 Dwayne Coleman. He and fellow senior Mundell are faster then Mitchell so should be ok coming in if need be.

                            HB
A major move as speedy Noah Short (84 ovr) has been moved to WR to HB where he will be the #1 and is 1st team all conference. A natural HB saw his overall grade go up when making the move. With 94 speed, 92 agility, 91 change of direction gives Army a threat in both the outside and in the passing game. If he stays healthy he could get 1,000 yards. Junior Omari Embree saw a big move up and still has potential to grow. More of a elusive back could see some carries if Noah gets hurt or the 4 true freshman aren't ready. Army wants the two power back's getting carries, but they fall below veteran's Udoh and Reed on the power back depth chart.

                            FB / B Back
The top 3 FB's / B back's return lead by Kanye Udoh and his double-digit TD's. He is pretty much maxed out (86 ovr) which is fine as he is arguable the best FB in the country. Senior Hayden Reed (79 ovr) is a backup for all 3 spots another power back that gets most his carries in the power I. Jake Rendina (75 ovr) officially starts and is the blocker of the group. Billy wants to give the true freshman Pat Skool (67 ovr) some carries in mop up time.

                            WR
The WR group has the bodies thats one reason why you saw Noah moved to HB. The biggest news is junior David Clerk (65 ovr) exploded speed wise and has 99 speed, 97 acceleration and 92 agility and 94 change of direction. This could mean he makes the move to HB next year. Billy will have to find ways to get him the ball kinda like they did Noah last year at WR. Senior Liam Fortner (76 ovr) is solid vet who can block. The two true freshman will be on the 2nd unit and Kevin Pointer (55 ovr) is another blocker who could play. A lot of bodies here and we don't throw it much so we could afford a injury here. Army wants to throw the ball more this year let's see if that happens with Clerk's speed and the true freshman's size and jumping.

                            TE
This unit is weak so not much to say here and all 6 will come back next year. The true freshman Mohammad Strong will start as he has the best power and blocking and is 6'3 254. Randy Farris another blocker will be TE#2. I wouldn't expect more then 10 catches here for anyone.

                            OL
This unit will have to take 2 steps back before it can take 2 steps forward. In 1 to 2 years the OL is going to be the strength of this team and why Army's winning 10 games a year. For that to happen Billy went with 2 true freshman starting over better upper classman in the starting lineup. Romero and Godfrey are going to be great players, but they are 2* that need to be redshirting not starting. Center Brady Small is a stud 86 overall with 94 strength and the best run blocker on the team. He has a lot of room to get better and the key to next year could be if he goes pro. Since no other C is ready to start as his backup is a senior. This isn't going to be the kind of set it and forget it OL. You will have to go to the backups at times or maybe shift both true freshman to one side. Tanner Bivins (80 ovr) started last year is a quality player, but not the run blocker we would want as a senior. The good news is there is depth with Hadley, Brady and Poindexter all as backups and capable of filling if injury or a change is needed. Senior Poindexter we think should be good enough at RT as we don't want two true freshman tackles starting.

                            Progression

Now we take a look at the progression and we do have the OL offseason progression skill. Also don't be fooled by the overalls as we are the same overall as we was last year and the worst in the conference.

                            QB
                            Bolden +1
                            Coleman +4
                            Hellums +5

                            HB
                            Embree +9
Short (+6 then +3 with move to HB)

                            FB
                            Udoh +3
                            Rendina +1

                            Johnson +13
                            Howard +8

Army Struggles In First 5 Games

We projected Army to struggle in 2025 losing 27 seniors and only 4 freshmen from the previous year. They have 2* true freshman playing major roles on the team and a overall team grade the worst in the American Conference. The defense was very weak at DL and to make it worse 4 starters missed multiple games early on.

Things started off good scoring 33 points and beating Marshal close on the road. The offense was outgained only had 317 yards, but benefitted from +3 in turnovers. A extremely conservative game with just 16 passing yards. The WR turned HB Noah Short went 13 for 118 with 2 TD's and FB Udoh had 76 and 1 TD. The true freshman HB Keys did nothing 12 for 30 yards.

The 2nd game of the year will give you nightmares on the road against then 14th ranked Kansas State. Army has the 4th quarter lead and then is trailing down just 1 point with less then 1 minute to go. Napier gets his team into a pretty easy FG range and then the head coach (stupid super sim) overrules him. That caused Army to brutally lose by just 1 point bc the head coach wouldn't kick the FG. The passing game was better over 100 yards with no standout rusher. This one will hurt

Army beats Tulsa 24 to 21 behind 429 yards of offense 319 of those on the ground. Bolden was over 100 yards passing again and 2 TD's while adding 86 on the ground. Short and Udoh again had over 60 each and Short added 98 receiving.

A weird back-to-back bye weeks was next which the AD was unable to change (glitch). It was the 1-win temple coming to town and it was shocking a blow out just not in the good way. Temple just completely stopped the ground attack holding Army to 2.6 per rush. The leading rusher had just 38 yards. The next game undefeated and ranked North Texas took care of business

Not the way you want to start off just 2-3 with 4-1 Florida Atlantic coming to town next. This was also going to be a rebuild year and hopefully Army can get to 6 or 7 wins.

                                Army vs FAU

                                Freshman Emerges In Heartbreaker

We thought the coach not kicking the FG and ruining our chance to beat the still undefeated top 15 team was the worst loss of the year until this game. Army is up 24 to 6 going into the 4th quarter which is tailor made for this offense. FAU gets a few TD's and the offense goes 3 and out to make it a game. Still Army is up 7 with 2:05 remaining with FAU having all 3 timeouts and the 2-minute warning. The goal was simple don't fumble it and just play it conservative. Army could see just up the middle wasn't going to work so call a load option. The plan was just keep it and only pitch if it's wide open then the DL forces a fumble. FAU is inside the 21 and has now scored 21 points in the 4th quarter. They swap TD's in the 1st overtime. FAU scores a TD and 2 point conversation and Army isn't able to match it and lose.

This falls Army to 2-4 and pretty much takes them out of the conference championship game. We didn't realize we only had 1 yard passing until we checked the box score. It wasn't for a lack of attempts as Bolden had 14 attempts just only completed 2. The good news is the 3* HB Keys who had done nothing exploded onto the scene today. He had 108 rushing yards on just 16 carries and 3 TD's. He showed power and speed and seemed to run better out of the non flexbone formations.
